I hate it. I hate it when he puts his head between his knees because he shouldn’t be in so much sorrow and pain and fatigue he has to shut himself out from everyone else. He shouldn’t be having to do that. He’s TWELVE. He should be full of whimsy and joy and laughing and playing around and PENGUIN sledding he should be PENGUIN SLEDDING and goofing off and relaxing and being lazy and talking to Appa because he’s the only one who can understand Appa, really.

And he should be worrying about his crush on Katara and how much he likes her and joking off with Sokka and making snowmans and having snowball fights with them and practicing water bending by making Sokka soaking WET.

and his culture, his people, his friends, his family, the sky bison, the lemurs, Gyatso shouldn’t be gone. They should be with him, or at the very least his culture should still be alive.

But they’re not. And Aangs tired and overwhelmed and the avatar so obviously he has to be strong enough to take out a million Fire Navy ships in just one evening.

He’s expected to do so much more than he can because oh he’s the AVATAR.

He hasn’t even mastered waterbending.

Aang was LEARNING waterbending when the Fire Nation attacked.
