Change.org - Petition To Hire 1,000,000 People To Put Their Fingers In The Shoot Hole Of Peoples’ Guns So They Can’t Shoot Them
It’s still gonna shoot… And they’re gonna lose a finger
No. The finger blocks the bullet. We can do this
This is a gun we’re talking about. The projectile is fired using an explosion, not by compressed air of a toy gun or the elastic forces of a sling shot. People would be lucky if they only lost their finger.
The finger blocks it
The finger won’t block it - the shaft is only there for keeping the bullet straight, all the propulsion happens behind the bullet. The bullet would rip through the finger, not that many would actually fit without the victim being a child, and beyond.
The bullet would go forward a little and then hit the finger and stop it’s not that hard to understand
People are going to lose their hands. Go watch Mythbusters. They did an episode on this, the hand fucking exploded.
No, the bullet would start to go but stop at the finger. Thats basic physics. Also hands dont explode normally they did something wrong.
Why the dingleknockers would you even consider sticking your finger in the barrel of a loaded gun?? the amount of force propelling the bullet at that close of range would shatter the finger at the very least; this is a petition for 1,000,000 people to loose the use of their hands. If a bullet explodes the back of a persons skull when they shoot it in their mouth it sure as hell will explode a finger.
No the finger would stop it
I’m loving the idiocy of this post.
Ppl with brains: ummm finger go boom…
Others: no bullet stop. U no kno fisics >:V
no the finger would stop it
You guy who think the bullet would stop at the finger have never shot a gun and can volunteer to it their fingers in the barrel of my 9 mil and I’ll I’ll the trigger and see if it will stop the bullet. Dumdasses
the finger would stop it

These fuckwits are back again? How’s it going, Nine Finger Nasty? About to turn into an Eight Finger Egghead?
@meatswitch @raptorific this is a US based site. US Americans are known for two things- obsession with guns and incredible stupidity. Had this been anyone else, I’d say they’re trying to fuck with us. But with US Americans, about 70% of them are dead serious about mangling their hands trying to stop a bullet.
I’ve had four years to think about it and now I think the finger would stop it
I just tested it with my buddy. It stops the bullet
….Mythbusters WELDED A METAL SPIKE into the barrel of a gun to obstruct it, something heaps stronger than a human finger (and sealed the barrel better with the filler metal used to fuse the metal spike into place and prevent the explosive gases from escaping) but even that didn’t stop the bullet from doing damage.
It’s because they didn’t use a finger like I did

is it getting hot in here
it's so chilling to walk through an area where the houses are surrounded by blank sterile lawns and see a big lilac bush in full bloom without a single bug on it. No bees, no butterflies, not a stir of activity.
The neighborhood association where I work hires a truck to spray the whole subdivision. It trundles up every driveway and sprays every yard with pesticides. The children excitedly tell me about "the bug man" and know which days he comes on. I know when he's been there, because in the following days I see the beetles, butterflies, bees, and more, all struggling on the pavement, slowly dying. The children do not realize why they are there. They poke at the bugs in fascination. I hate it.
That's. Horrible. I have no words
Like
Those insecticides are toxic to humans as well, many are proven carcinogens, and their residues stick around for years inside homes
But even if that wasn't so, insect populations worldwide are plummeting, and the entire food chain depends on them. Most plants and animals could not exist without insects, period
Keeping the insect ecosystem in balance is important for human health and long term flourishing. Not all species are impacted equally by these toxic chemicals, and the elimination of one species can cause an explosion in another.
For example, some of the major predators of ticks are ants, spiders, and beetles
If you kill all your ants, spiders, and beetles, it'll take a long time for them to re-establish, but ticks can return because of a feral cat walking across your grass
What's more, scientists have found that excluding animals from an area makes the amount of ticks that can be collected in that area to explode. We're talking 2-3 times the amount of ticks actively foraging for things to latch onto. It seems like hungrier ticks seek food sources more and bite people more. This leads to the hypothesis that global defaunation is one of the causes of the explosion in tick borne diseases in recent years
Many birds depend on insects for food, bluebirds specifically eat a ton of mosquitoes
If you wipe out most arthropods, the the small mammals and birds that eat the bugs will visit your yard much less. Guess what that means
Current projections predict that the insect declines will be heavily impactful upon bees, butterflies, and moths, but could increase the populations of...flies and cockroaches.
Not to mention that as all the natural predators of agricultural pest insects suffer, more and more pesticides will be needed to get enough crop yields and it becomes a vicious cycle of poisoning the planet and farm laborers more and more severely to avoid collapse of food systems
Your neighborhood association is creating a bleak, sick, hungry future for those kids and everyone else.
Like, think about it:
If you kill and destroy everything in your surroundings that doesn't benefit you directly, soon the only critters that can live there are the creatures that are parasites on you directly or that compete with you for resources.
And now they don't have any predators to keep them at bay.
reblogging this again because researching ticks changed my brain around
like I thought "Yeah re-wilding will probably increase the risk of ticks but we just need to make tick safety widespread and common knowledge"
but then I RESEARCHED it
and the research was like "Actually tick diseases have increased DRAMATICALLY over the past 40 years, and tick ranges are expanding hugely and it's mostly unrelated to climate change so far. And we did experiments and in areas where there aren't any animals, the number of ticks that catch onto things passing through the area explodes, it's like 2-3 times the number of ticks. Which is like, wait, weird, I thought animals spread ticks. But we think what's happening is that when there's no animals, the ticks engage in more questing behavior to find food."
and I was like "Wait, but if the decline of animals is making the ticks look for food more, wouldn't they...wait. Oh no. OH NO. We're the food!"
and I looked at more research
and the research said "so the main things that kill ticks seems to be spiders, ants, and beetles."
and I was like "spiders, ants, and beetles? the things that people see as pests and try to kill with chemicals that contaminate the whole ecosystem?—OH FUCK"
Shouto just wanted more Sanrio washitape for his arts and crafts class 😩
i think the first one is fucking funny tbh its my fav
I kinda think this dude needs to die. "I convinced my wife to starve herself so I would want to fuck her more, but now she's not enthusiastic about me fucking her because she's experiencing starvation. This is obviously her fault"
This guy is incredible because not only is his wife starved, she now hates herself and has terrible body image because of how he treated her as good for nothing but her thinness and sex. And then he even tries to complain about how HIM having a problem with HER BODY and DEMANDING HER TO LOSE WEIGHT caused him to have to do more chores and have less fun meals as she was doing what he demanded of her. But he’s a “good husband” because he was “patient” despite how much he was annoyed by her not just flipping a switch and becoming thinner over night. My god, this guy is fucking horrible. I hope his wife gets out of their marriage as soon as she can and gets custody of the kids. She does not deserve such a horrible husband, and he is a terrible influence on those kids if this is what he thinks of fatness and women.
The most important part here is that she’s healthy.
@fatphobiabusters
You are very clearly a troll, but I will respond in earnest anyway in the hopes that maybe you'll gain some compassion eventually.
You do not know anything about that woman's health. Her husband used health as a justification for demanding that she change her body for him. He already proved that he is an unreliable narrator, do you think her health is the one thing he would be truthful about?
31 pounds also isn't that much. Someone can still have the same body type even with a 31 pound shift in weight. I'm sure you would look at a 300 pound person who lost 31 pounds and still believe they're not thin enough for you. A thin person gaining 31 pounds does not mean they're suddenly anywhere near the weight that fatphobes automatically deem unhealthy.
Thinness does not equal health in the first place, and from the timeline given in this post it sounds like she lost that weight quickly for him. Intentional weight loss has been proven to not be sustainable, and quick weight loss and yo-yo dieting actually harm a person's health. I would also argue that health is not more important than an abusive relationship, bad body image, and the loss of all joy. The latter two are aspects of mental health as well, emphasis on the word "health."
-Mod Worthy
@fatphobiabusters way to use a bad example of a 300 pound person losing 31 pounds. Someone that is 175 losing 31 pound would be a significant drop and would change your appearance and to be honest is a more realistic number. 300+ people are not as common (maybe more common in the US) but on a societal level it’s not common. So her losing 31 pounds can definitely be a big change and for anyone that has ever been in a relationship (I’d hope you have), appearance matters and if you say otherwise then you’re probably delusional.
Additionally, people lose weight intentionally all the times. The only difference is whether they do a quick fix (surgery, diet pills, etc.) or if they actually make the necessary lifestyle changes to sustain a weight loss. People do that all the times because you’re right, thinness doesn’t mean healthy, but exercising and being active objectively positively impacts your life and there is absolutely no data that goes against this. Exercise teaches discipline and is goal oriented and people need that to boost their mental health. There is plenty of data on that and I know because I studied this in graduate school for counseling.
This narrative that you’re upholding only encourages insecurity on others and does not do anything to improve their mental health. For centuries we have been walking, running, and staying active as humans and now we’re just slowly losing all that to technology and people like you with this narrative that we just need to not do anything to maintain health when in reality many of us are becoming malnourished and exposed to laziness over this fatphobia craze. You’ll all being trying to hold onto this belief and it’s unfortunate that we’re going to have to see you all fade away in short lives and we’ll feel bad because we were gaslit into thinking we’re the villains in your insecure lives.
your degree is trash and I hope you get fired. Holy fuck, you don't know shit about the wife's health and your perpetuation of healthism harms people. Jesus if you can read the screenshots and say "well she's healthy" mentally no she's not. And we have no idea if physically. With that husband she's miserable. You're a counselor? For ants.
And how is yo yo dieting, because long term weight loss only works for like 3% of people Everyone else is destroying their bodies, help people not be insecure? Why is learning to love your own body and treating it with kindness a threat to you? You've assumed so much about weight gain here it shows what trash they are teaching professionals.
Dude has a death wish
Delighted to announce this bird is real and is a corvid.
Truly the family that just keeps giving.
I haven’t seen it in the notes yet, so afaik, here’s the source of that video! So now you can see the funny poison bird much more clearly.
It was taken by a biologist that studies birds so it seems like he knows what he’s doing. For the most part. Here’s his caption:
You all know that he 100% licked his fingers after handling that bird
I can’t leave this in the tags, I’m sorry.
No matter how destructive he is, I believe ???% wouldn't hurt as!Reigen, but he wouldn't acknowledge him either, he would ignore him
I swear, I will die trying
