I see it time and time again but I want to reiterate, being autistic does not excuse you from being racist, sexist, transphobic, ableist to other people with disabilities etc, learn and do better.
Sincerely,
- an autistic lesbian poc

some very important info re: paid accounts~
I am not a lawyer, but I can decently interpret legalese and, being as I also suffer from tl;dr syndrome and assume others may as well, I took one for the team and went through the updated TOS for the post+ accounts and highlighted (what I understand to be) the most pertinent information, which ultimately comes down to this:
You cannot monetize copyrighted works (aka charge and earn money from fanfic, fanworks, etc) and if you do decide to put your fanworks behind a paywall via Tumblr, when you are inevitably sued, Tumblr will not protect you and will not defend you and you alone, personally, will be responsible for whatever monetary damages said lawsuit results in.
If anyone is a lawyer and knows I've gotten any of this wrong, please do not hesitate to correct me/this post.
Screenshots taken from Tumblr's TOS (updated 7-21-21), Stripe's Account Agreement, and the post+ FAQs.
1. Your paid account will not be hosted by tumblr; it is routed through a 3rd party.
2. By signing up for a paid account, you're entering into an agreement with Stripe, so in addition to Tumblr's TOS, you are also bound to Stripe's TOS.
3. Stripe, like Tumblr, will not defend you or protect you against any lawsuits.
4. Furthermore, you may end up owing Stripe money (indemnify = compensate)
5. Tumblr's TOS specifically states that you can't put any content on your post+ account that violates any laws, including laws that protect intellectual property rights of others. This is super important, because Tumblr's post+ FAQ also states that you can post anything that you would regularly post on tumblr, which I'm sure many will take to mean that gifsets, fanworks, etc are fair game, since all of that stuff can be posted on tumblr now. However, the difference is, you're not making money from the fanworks you're posting or reblogging now. Once money enters the equation, the game changes.
Tumblr is making it seem like any and all content goes for post+ accounts, knowing 90% of this site is fanworks. This is not true and you'll be opening yourself up for lawsuits if you charge for fanworks.
6. Tumblr further disclaims any and all liability in any legal issues.
tl;dr: Please do not make a post+ account, bc you will be opening yourself to lawsuits and if that happens, Tumblr's response will be not our problem, you agreed to all the terms which said you couldn't do that, sorry not sorry. Please protect yourself.
This post is a public service.
As a law student I can confirm that this is pretty on point as far as the risks to us, the users.
all my friends are going to college. me, however? straight into eating disorder treatment.

This makes me cry, actually.
Just to add on. Libraries in many cities have 3d printers you can use that charge you only the price of materials. So if you can't wait for the shipping from the engineers, try your local library.
Humanity at its best 🤗
Mobility aids are freedom. They’re good and useful and give the people who need them the ability to go places and do things they want to do.
Think of when you got your first bike and could ride places. Or your driver’s license and could drive places. Or when you were allowed to ride the bus on your own or walk to the store on your own. Of how much freedom it gave you and how the world opened up because you could get there.
That’s what a cane or a walker or a rollator or a wheelchair is. Mobility aids allow us to go places. We’re not confined to anything with them.
Without them, it’s like being grounded by our disability. We can’t go out and do things. We’re confined without them and free with them.
Though the jokes that "since gay pride month is over, july is now gay wrath month" are funny and all, it's important to remember that July is ACTUALLY Disability Pride Month and y'all should really be focused on boosting disabled voices and issues this month! For instance, the fact that marriage equality doesn't actually truly exist in the United States for disabled people, or the fact that disabled people are forced to live in poverty or lose their disability benefits, or the fact that 1 in 5 people with chronic pain end up sufferring from alcoholism or other addictions, or how accessibility is still a daily battle for all of us, or how there are active hate groups on places like reddit who try to "call out" those they see as "faking" their disabilities.
This July, boost disabled voices. Talk about the issues that our community faces. Call out ableism.
Hey y’all. My name is T and I am a recent college graduate. I’m also Black, trans, disabled, and a soon to be PhD student. In fact, my program starts in just under a month and I am thrilled!
However, I’ve been faced with some incredible, very painful setbacks, including being cut off, both socially and financially from my parents. I had known it was coming, but I was hoping I could hold out until august, when I’d have my first paycheck from grad school. Unfortunately, that was not how it worked out. And now I’m alone, living in a state with no family or friends, struggling to move into a new apartment once my sublease is up on July 31st. I’m anxious and stressed about this and I literally don’t know what I’m going to do if I can’t make first month’s rent and move into my apartment.
I’ve been searching for jobs and am currently tutoring part time and donating plasma twice a week but I still don’t know if it’ll be enough to cover everything I’ll need for the next six weeks.
My finances are a hot mess. I’m scared and I don’t know what to do. And I am struggling.
So, uh y’all, anything helps, whether it’s $1 or $150, whether it’s $3 bucks or $30.
Full transparency: this is the second fundraiser I’ve posted on tumblr this summer. They are for the same reason but PayPal only allows you to fundraise for 30 days. So I’ve created a second pool to complete fundraising.

ive been thinking a lot about disability recently because my conditions are disabling enough that idk if i can work which has resulted in me living with friends and pushing myself to work so i can eat without pain and its just. rough. not to mention my social life is shit because of once again disabilities. its hard to make new friends when you cant hear them speaking to you from 6 feet away. but anyways im getting on a waiting list for an asd diagnosis and i will be getting tests done to find out what my physical issues are and really i just need support but whatever
Hey everyone! I know this is a little heavy, but it’s important.
If you live in the USA, please take a second to text SIGN PSLOAE to 50409!
It’s disability pride month, and the SSI Restoration Act of 2021 is going to be up for signing as a bill! This is a huge deal because it would:
1) Allow people on disability to save up to $10,000 in their bank accounts rather than the current limit of $2,000 (exceeding the limit will result in the loss of their disability status)
2) It removes the marriage penalty, so disabled people can get married without losing their disability benefits!
3) It raises the income amount that people on disability are allowed to make so they can work and support themselves!
So please, PLEASE take just a minute to text SIGN PSLOAE to 50409! It just takes a little info for you and auto-contacts your representatives.

More info on the bill can be found here:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) led Senate Democrats in re-introducing the...
Glasses are the most common disability aid in America.
And some people may say, ‘you would look better without them, have you considered contacts/corrective surgery’, but no one acts like it’s a big deal if you need them, or need some special accommodations because of the condition you need them for, or if you only wear them part time. No one looks at a person wearing glasses and thinks or says 'that person has both eyes, why would they need glasses?’. No one says a child or young adult with glasses is 'too young’ to have that problem. No one looks at a person in glasses and assumes they have them because they are fat, or lazy, or trying to trick people into some imagined advantage. Poor or irregular eyesight is a disability that has been normalized to the point that no one thinks of it as a disability any more. Glasses quickly become just a part of the face of the person who wears them, and are solid proof that it isn’t hard for the people of this country to accept and to think of–to acknowledge–that a disability aid, whether part time or full time, is simply an extension of the disabled person who requires it to ease their interactions with the world.
SO IT WOULD BE SUPERB IF PEOPLE COULD STOP BEING SUCH ABSOLUTE FUCK-CLOWNS ABOUT WHEELCHAIR USERS.
When are people going to care about disabled rights?
ResistBot's open letter to US Congress urging them to update the SSI system—which hasn't been updated in over 30 years and forces disabled Americans into poverty and marriage inequality—by passing the SSI Restoration Act of 2021 bill (Bill S.2065) is about to reach 25,000 signatures. It's taken 12 days just to reach 25,000 signatures.
I can't help but feel that if this were any other social justice issue, it would have gotten 25,000 signatures in one day alone. When are people going to care about disabled rights? July is Disability Pride Month and most people don't even know about it. If Congress is going to listen to us and make an effort to meet our needs, we have to show up in numbers to show them that this is a serious issue that deserves their attention.
So I beg of you, if you live in the US, please help by texting "SIGN PSLOAE" to 50409 to sign the petition and ResistBot will automatically send a letter to your local representatives urging them to pass the bill. (If you can't text, I think it'll still work if you DM "SIGN PSLOAE" to @ResistBot on Twitter or Facebook Messenger.)
If you want to contact Congress yourself, you can go to whoaremyrepresentatives.org to find out who your local representatives are and see their contact information to call, email, or write a letter to them.
If you don't know what to say, you can go to callurreps.carrd.co for a script that you can read aloud on the phone or copy + paste into an email. (There's also a lot of helpful info about the bill there too.)
This tumblr post also has a script you can use over the phone, in emails, or in letters.
Disabled people deserve marriage equality and financial security. Please help us finally obtain our basic human rights and get Bill S.2065 passed.
remember that you're white before you're anything else and this impacts every single way you interact with the world compared to poc
whiteness is a shield for you as a person and its part of your privilege, ignorance on said privilege is complacency and support to white supremacy. a poc saying you have privilege is not an insult but a fact and a lot of you seriously have to think critically for once and question as to why you feel insulted
