honestly do y’all ever just really sit there and think about how korrasami actually really happened? like it really actually happened…almost four years ago we sat and waited to see if it would actually happen. we were told it would never happen, that a giant television network like nickelodeon would never let this happen especially on a kid’s show in 2014. nevertheless we hoped and thought that it could. we knew what we felt and saw. this ship was more than just two characters looking cute next to one another, it was more than being right in a so called “shipping war” it was about feeling validated and knowing what these characters meant to us. that their love was special and not something you see everyday. when you just sit and listen to the music behind the conversation that korra and asami had in those last three minutes it just hits you. the looks they share, the gentle moments, and the chemistry they just have that you can’t explain. if you watch the last scene with them as they’re walking towards the portal, at first they look at it with uncertainty, but once they look at each other they smile and know that they’re ready to take on whatever challenges they may come across together. than they reach for the others hand and they hold on to it but never breaking eye contact. as they reach the portal they turn and look each other and that look that is shared can’t be explained but you know it’s a feeling that will last forever. this ship has given so many people the strength to be themselves and to live life without fear. this ship made people feel validated and loved. this ship has changed lives. i still can’t believe some days that korrasami is canon or that it even exists…but it does. i’m just so grateful that this is a thing in my life and i’m grateful that i’m not alone in that sentiment.
