Hi hello happy pride month!!!! I finished playing Our Wonderland a couple days ago (thank you so much for this game its straight peak i love it i love the story i love the characters i especially love orlam because i am literally just him without the murderous and cannibalistic urges)
I'm wondering!!!! The group goes to hundreds of loops but OW only shows the five loops that progress the story yes? Was there anything specific about these loops that made them important? Like maybe its cause Iggy makes his wish at the end of these loops?
And also!! I wanna ask if there were any loops where Iggy or anyone else got to live significantly longer than the usual end point? Or was there something that compelled them to Bucks' cabin which eventually led to their death?
Ok yeah thats all i wanted to ask !!! Again tysm Carrot for your wonderful story!!! Absolutely recommending everyone i know to check OW out
ahhh i'm so glad that you enjoyed the game ;---; 💕 thank you so much for playing, and for the kind words. i'm so touched that you love the characters so much
re: the loops, at least in my head, these five are the most "different" and "standalone" out of all the possible loops. like many of the other loops are just derivatives of these loops where small things differed, like the loops where iggy died early, the loops where iggy said different things (like the possible choices he can make, each one of those exists in a different loop), and even far beyond what's actually in the game, any possible number of variations that could exist out of those main loops (literally i feel like... you could think of any possible "AU" about a loop and you could just say it could be canon because hey, you never know!). but in my head these are like... the core loops that everything revolves around because each one ties back to iggy's wish of wanting to make his friends happy and thus warping him in different ways by what his friends want from him
ofc if you wanted to go wild and make ones even far different than these core loops, that's also fine, and loops like this possibly exist (esp for instance if you think about OFW being a special loop of its own, so that really opens up the realm of possibility for what loops might exist) but that goes so far outside the possible reach of my mind because it could literally be anything and everything, so i have to come back to the main foundation as a way to ground the cycle and story lol
as for the longest loop, i think the longest one actually referred to in canon would be the one mentioned in StLD where genzou doesn't kill orlam in arc 2 (either genzou is killed instead or he's simply locked away) -- i haven't even thought through what the rest of that loop would entail, but i imagine so long as iggy isn't killed quickly, it could potentially go on for quite a while until he finally dies. besides that there are many possibilities that aren't referred to directly in the game just by thinking about possible AU outcomes -- for instance, what if in Arc 4 gidget and cecil are killed or captured by the rabbits when they're all running from the ballroom? and gidget never saves iggy in the stall? orlam says specifically here he would keep iggy alive around the castle, so who knows how long that would have eventually lasted before iggy died
so yeah, there's about a gajillion possibilities for what theoretically be the longest loop if you look at these things; however, of the loops actually directly referred to within the game, the longest of those (i think) is the one I mentioned from StLD (unless i'm forgetting something)
edit: also adding on here because i realize you also said "iggy or anyone else" but that specifically couldn't happen because the loop would reset as soon as iggy died, so any other character would only be able to live longer if iggy were also able to live longer lol
