"First Month of Mbangala: The Season When the Grass is Burned So here I am in the garden, writing... if these words have magic, then I will use them to plot and plan a way to drive the Portuguese from our land. And maybe one day my pages will tell others that I, Nzingha, First Daughter of Kiluanji, was Mbundu, one of a powerful people who are free and unafraid to fight for our beloved homeland of Ndongo in the Kwanza River Valley. Later the Same Evening My sisters have found me. Kifunji cannot resist teasing. She gives a big laugh. "Writing is good for you, sister. To see you sitting quietly is such a rare pleasure. Isn't it better than hurling a spear, or wrestling some boy to the ground?"... I am accused of being independent. It is true, I suppose, for I would rather be kept in an open basket than a lukata—a box."

"Egg" and "poor innocent gnc cis man being attacked by the evil trans women" aren't the only options btw. Sometimes people just, get this, choose to have their enormous online presence remain closeted.
It's actually really weird how easily online queer spaces seem to forget that the closet is a thing.
This might come as a surprise for those who use the internet as their primary outlet for queerness but some people are online to do their jobs and don't want to be out at work.
The more of an audience someone has, the more understandable it gets if they share absolutely nothing about their personal life, queer identity included. "You should experiment with new pronouns and see how you like it" is a sensible suggestion to make in a situation where you're surrounded by people who either don't care or can be trusted to be supportive, but if you've got a six-digit number of capricious strangers screenshotting everything you say in public, you quickly learn that vulnerability and openness has a cost to it.
you. person with dermatillomania and/or trichotillomania. what are you doing right now and should you be doing that. ok thank you for your time
reading a historical romance novel and reflecting on the way these stories often present woke nobility for the contemporary reader. a big thing is servants. you can’t not have servants in those times but many modern readers think “but I would never have servants. it would be so weird to have servants” and in order to make the protagonists of the story more relatable they are actually friends with the servants. but flip your perspective and think of it from the side of the servants. wouldn’t it be so awful if your boss was always trying to be friends with you. a really common thing you’ll see is the woke baronet having tea in the kitchen with the servants bc he’s not like other baronets. but what if your boss wanted to hang out and talk during your lunch break every day. not so charming when you think about it that way

Hello I hope you're having a nice train ride! Top 5 favorite movies and why they're your favorite?
Thank you!
Sinners. I don’t think I have to explain it’s just a fantastic movie and it has one of the best scenes i’ve ever seen in a movie where I turned to my roommate and was like did we see the best movie scene of all time just now? and then I went to see it in the cinema for a second time and for some reason had a strong emotional reaction and cried when that scene happened. Perfect pacing, great effects, great writing, amazing performances and a FANTASTIC soundtrack.
Parasite. I will always say yes to rewatching it. beautifully made and great commentary on class and poverty.
The Handmaiden. AMAZING soundtrack and well executed plot twists that makes everything come together so well and seeing the plot unfold was so cool.
The talented mr. Ripley. The gay representation is not the best I will admit to that but I like the style and editing and it’s fascinating to see him just lie and lie and lie and get further into his web of lying until it escalates to murder.
Deadpool and Deadpool 2. No real reason except that they’re like comfort movies to me for many years so I have a special relationship with them
HM: Star wars a new hope and empire strikes back because I used to watch them with my dad, Mannen som elsket yngve (The man who loved Yngve) because it was one of the gay movies I watched in my teens and I love the book), I, Tonya because it’s really good
"Hahaha, I'm only bringing up Charlie Kirk's death because it is a JOKE to me. I think it's FUNNY. That's why I'm still malding about him almost a year after his murder."
Well, I guess if he's got you this upset he must be on to something, right? Isn't that what they say? Regardless, I'm curious: would you be holding this same energy if Charlie were a woman? Even one you disagree with? Or is there a permissibility to (often brutal) violence against men that you simultaneously refuse to acknowledge while also cheekily playing into?
Just some food for though, "pal".

Man I miss free the nipple. Its getting warmer and we don’t even have free the nipple anymore
feminism has backslid so hard in recent years people don't even know what free the nipple means anymore
To clarify for those who don't know, "free the nipple" isn't about going braless, it's about going topless
No shirt, no bra, completely bare torso, just like cis men are allowed to
It's about desexualizing breasts and "female presenting nipples" and not being criminalized for our bodies if we want to go topless because it's a million damn degrees out. This was a popular growing movement that was still widely known a decade ago!
And the fact that not wearing a bra is so discouraged and stigmatized that people think the movement was about being able to go braless under your shirt in public rather than about being able to not wear a shirt at all says a lot about how far we've backslid in the past decade
I’m just an easy mark for dumb pilot humor. Today the captain was like “we’re now at altitude, feel free to move around, my one rule is you must stay inside the plane” and I lost it. It’s funny because you would die a horrible death akin to standing unencumbered on Pluto
