I finished a new rabbit and my glucose level is Dropping™ so I'm too lazy to edit the photoshoot! Here's all of them!! I think they all look good. Included a picture with her older sister so you can kind of see how much I improved 😌 I screwed up her face shaping so the scrunch is uneven but you can't tell if you only look at one side of her face at a time haha. Another wearable mockup, this time of a different pants draft. They turned out pretty decent, but the hem is too long so I've shortened the pattern a bit. I sewed these up on the industrial at work, except for some hand finishing, and the buttonholes which were done on my Singer 15. I could cover them with hand buttonhole stitches but I probably won't.
Fabric is a thrifted cotton twill which is a greenish grey, and I think it's just a bit too grey and yucky, which is why it's good for a wearable mockup. The pockets and lining bits are grey cotton bedsheet. I used brighter green thread and buttons, just in case I happen to have a used vat of green dye and want to throw these in to soak up some leftover colour.

Haven't been working on this a huge amount bc I've been frantically preparing for bottom surgery (hysterectomy) I'm having this Friday (in 2 days!!). I'm very excited, but it's daunting! When i get too stressed out, this has been a nice thing to pick up and knock out a couple of rows. I'm also finally finishing this project i started... who knows how long ago lol
All those fish bones have to be glued to their shadows and then to the page; in this pic nothing is secured, just laid out. I carved a stamp to do the background and everything else is cut paper.
(btw in case it wasn't clear - I'm trans, I use he/him pronouns. Idk if I've ever mentioned it on this blog so this is just to make sure the 2 ppl who see this post know how to gender me in their heads lmao)

Of course I run out of yarn frustratingly close to the end lol. 3 stitches from the end of the row, too! And the local store doesn't have it in stock anymore, so I'll get a couple more skeins in the mail in 5-7 business days.
I guess I'll just have to start another project in the meantime... >:)))
The new yarn came in and I finally got to work on the last few rows. Took the train home from visiting my parents and worked on this piece inbetween gazing out at the beautiful scenery.
And here's how far I got!

I made a vaguely Italian Renaissance hat very quickly the morning of a parlor larp I was in on Sunday!
I made it out of construction paper and upholstery fabric, all glued together with a glue stick and hot glue.
And here I am in the final fit! I didn't have any red garb that could be fudged as the correct time period (this cotehardie is my latest-period item and is still a couple centuries too early for 1470ish). Red would've been nice since I was playing a fictional version of Marcilio Ficino, who was a humanist, neoplatonist scholar who ran the Florentine Academy under the patronage of the Medici family. He (and everyone else in Florence) wore a lot of red at that time.
Also I'm not smiling in this pic bc I was stressed by crazy shit happening in the game. I had run to the restroom to escape for a few min lol
Is it a particularly good, even, or well made hat? No. Did I make it in like 4 hours? Yes. Did it do its job? Yes! And I'm pretty proud of it, despite it's roughness!

ok thank god there's so many fucking videos showing you how to do a ladder stitch like it's some kind of magic trick but here's the actual use case for it: closing a seam you can't reach the inside of. in all other cases, if you're fixing a ripped seam on pants, or on a tshirt, the ladder stitch is a messy, glorified running stitch.
Essential plush making technique, this one! Very good video, a lot of tutorials are kinda hard to parse for me.
