Jeff Boulter and his vans!
Slow motion of a moth flying. Taken by Jeff Boulter
Sometimes we have the very best intentions trying to sympathize with someone, though we might find ourselves actually doing the opposite when we speak to them. Jeff Boulter just wants you to be mindful of that.
That still moment when life stops and you sit in the shadows with your eyes wide open trying to see life. Nothing. Not one thing to see. Your eyes water, your chin shakes, and you start to tumble. JUST FALL! JUST FALL! just fall?
Just make sure you get back up again.
Falling is apart of life and the more you do it the more you find how easier it gets to get back up again.
40 Under 40 Winner: Jeff Boulter
by Stephanie Rivera in News
On Thursday, September 29, the Long Beach Post hosted an event to honor young people from around the city who are doing great things to better their community and beyond. Out of hundreds of nominations from our readers, judges chose 40 winners, representing a range of professions and activism. The Post will be profiling each honoree in the coming days.
Jeff Boulter has a history of giving back—whether through serving his country during his time with the U.S. Marine Corps, donating bone marrow, mentoring students, cleaning up beaches, serving the homeless, or even spearheading a startup men’s grooming company, Sir Brilliant.
Sir Brilliant, which sells high quality, all-natural grooming products such as hair pomade, beard oil and lip oil balm, is about having a positive mental attitude and taking care of one’s own hygiene, based on the premise that refining one’s looks can translate into taking care of one’s city—hence its motto: “look great, live brilliant.”
“We try hard to bring a lifestyle of positivity to our company that we want to spread to our surrounding community here in Long Beach,” the 37-year-old Utah native said. “The hope is to help spread that same positive vibe about how great one’s community can be if a little effort is applied.”
Boulter also alluded to an upcoming outreach program with a number of CSULB organizations that will be unveiled in the coming months. It’s all part of his goal to help others, help his community and find new ways to bring new life back to the city and some of the forgotten areas, he said.
Boulter can trace his love for the city to the late 90s when he visited it as a teen traveling with friends. After an honorable discharge at the Marine Corps and a brief stay in San Diego, he decided to go back to the city where he had “such a great experience.” He eventually obtained a business degree from Long Beach City College (LBCC) and a bachelor’s degree in International Business from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB).
“I am not great at being in the spotlight and receiving awards, but for the recognition this might bring to the thought of helping our great city I take it with pride, pride in the people that make this city amazing,” said Boulter of his award.
