You should always have fun no matter what.
That’s exactly right! I like the way you think.

You’re definitely the best looking one at the office.
Oh gosh. Aren’t you sweet? I’m flattered. Thank you!

It does look like you’re having fun!
I was! It’s always nice to just allow everyone to kick back, even if it’s just briefly.

What do you do?
I work for the Los Angeles Parks & Recreation Department as the Director. So far, it has been wonderful, and the atmosphere is brilliant. When I first began my job there, I was petrified that everyone was going to hate me, and that they’d think I was terrible compared to the person who had that title before me, but it has proven to be the opposite, which I am extremely relieved of. Oh my god – I am so sorry, I’m rambling.

You’re far away from home, what brought you to the States? What’s your line of work?
I’m a professor at UCLA and I work as a DJ too. I came here because I was bored of my usual social circle.
Originally, I came to the States to be closer with someone, which didn’t go too well. But now I’m working as the director of the LA Parks Department, and I’m loving it.
Wow, those are two very different careers you’ve got there, but that’s fantastic! I’m sure they’re both incredibly interesting. And ah... DJ-ing, that explains your knowledge of the club scene!
Seth & Jen
It could be a good place if you go. I’m more of the kind that’s a couch potato…but I work out enough to stay in shape.
That’s always good, though! It’s nice to be a bit of both. Healthy, but not overwhelmingly fixated on it. Best of both worlds!
I may be the boss, but work doesn’t always have to be too serious.

Oh. New face. What’s your name?
Yes! I sure am. My name’s Jennifer. And you are?
Ben & Jen
benmrclockwork:
So, I take it you’re not from here, locals know it’s the most vibrant thing about LA. Pleasure, Jennifer. So you’re here looking for a date? Or was it just a way to catch attention?
You are correct. I’m from the United Kingdom. Staithes, to be exact. And the pleasure’s all mine! Well, yes. That, and friends, considering I don’t know many people in the city, other than the ones I work with. So, I thought this would be a good place to start. What about you? What are you here to find?
Ben & Jen
benmrclockwork:
I highly suggest it, all ages and all kinds of people can be found on a club, now, the level of maturity… don’t expect much, but if you want to have a varied social life it’s a good thing and I recommend it. As for the gym, then yeah forget it, everyone is joining all these cults like Soul Cycle and they aren’t even a thing. I’m Benjamin, welcome to the site.
Well, now that you say that, I will definitely check it out at some point! It’ll be good for me to experience that side of the city. Also, hello! It’s so nice to meet you. Thank you for the welcome. I’m Jennifer.
Ben & Jen
I think this site is a good place and so it is a club. The gym, however, is 90′s but if you’re looking for a CrossFit freak, you might be in the right place.
You’re so right. It’s why I joined, but I have yet to try the club scene, at least this stage in my life. Do you reccomend it? And absolutely -- obnoxious fitness freak isn't really my thing.
Jennifer & Wade
wademarshall:
Apparently yeah. I didn’t think people actually did that but I guess I was wrong. Though I wouldn’t think it’d be a good place to look. You joined to find a date?
I guess you’ve got a point there, because all I’ve found so far are desperate men more than twice my age with bad intentions... so, that’s not too good! Ah, yes, I guess that’s a way to put it -- which I hope doesn’t sound embarrassing. Oh, and of course, to make friends.
Jennifer & Wade
Is the gym still a reasonable place to try and meet guys when all else fails, or is that overwhelmingly 90′s?
Accordin’ to some of the people on this site it’s a reasonable place apparently.
Really? I’m not surprised, honestly. Though, there’s not always luck there! Which I suppose is why I joined this site.
Knox & Open
Quiet bar and a few good drinks. Anyone feel like joining me?
Sounds rather nice, actually. I suppose I should get out.
