I know we like to joke about the many siblings in this campaign but it's crazy to check the status of those siblings. Like

Teor: brother is stone. Julien: sister is vanishing. Hal: brother dead (kind of a big deal). Bolaire: one sister is ALIVE! she might or might not be Very dangerous however. Occtis has one dead brother but the rest of his siblings might be out for his blood (oh right and one ripped his heart from his chest). Tyranny... did not seem to get along great with her sisters in the overture. Wick's older sister dislikes him (we don't know about his younger brother yet.) Azune's sister is unexpectedly alive but traumatized and in huge trouble. Thimble's brother is alive and that's all we know for now. Status of Thaisha's siblings unknown. And Vaelus . Well.

i think the key difference between george lucas’s star wars and disney’s star wars is that lucas is a man with an ideology. someone with a point of view, and all that entails. which comes with ideas of revolution, anti-imperialism, challenging the status quo, cultural appropriation and racist stereotypes. complex and contradictory ideas because that’s how artists are: complex and complicated people. disney is not. disney is a corporation. a corporation can’t have ideology, because ideology defeats the purpose of profit. and when the only thing you do is to turn on the movie manufacturing machine before you sit down and plan what ideas are you trying to convey to the audience, then your results are going to be washed out corporate garbage. and because when you’re a giant corporation who only cares about selling to the widest audience possible, you can’t take sides. you can’t decide on an idea. because you want to sell your product to people who are on the entire political spectrum. which results in movies without ideology, without purpose, without soul.

On the one hand I'm sure everyone else is very heavily emphasizing that magneto is Theee big bad of all time and so on and so forth the whole time the new ones are training but also. Like. Imagine you're the new new new mutants or whatever and somebody manages to actually knock magneto over and he stays on the ground for a second and you're kind of looking at each other like. Guys isn't he *really* old what if we just killed magneto & then the entire city starts shaking while he's getting back on his feet & you're like ohhh he's just REALLY ANGRY now. Uffington white horse cup!

It looks a bit blurry in the close-up, but it's not really; that's an artifact of reflections on the glaze. I'm super pleased with how this came out.

I painted the horse in white underglaze and then painted over my lines with wax. (That was the most fiddly part -- covering it all up without going over.) The wax resists glaze, so when I dipped it in the slightly translucent dark green, it didn't cover the horse. In person the green isn't quite as dark as it came out in pictures -- it's still dark, but grassier -- and the horse looks carved out of it.

I would say "I need to do this design again," but as a matter of fact I already have -- these pictures are from a while ago, and the progress pic above is from the second. But I'm gonna keep doing it again, because I really love the effect.
