what's annoying is that in a better world the widespread availability of glp-1 medications might have actually led to a depoliticization of thinness and just like major structural changes to the way we think about body politics, where we could all realize that the size and shape of your body is in no way a reflection of your moral character, and that so much of what the diet and gym industries have characterized as "willpower" and "hard work" is actually just predicated on the whims and quirks of biology, and that losing weight is neither a moral achievement OR a betrayal of any ideological movement, but rather just a personal choice between an individual and their doctor that many people can now more easily make with the help of advancements in modern medicine. but unfortunately we live in the world we do, so we're in hell, and i guess the whole "what someone chooses to do with their body is between them and their doctor" point, these days, legally, is....well don't piss me off
