Kroot ability to sense the "impurity" of whatever they were about to eat kinda confuses me.

In "For The Emperor" they did take a bite out of Genestealer Cultist's body first before the Shaper realized it was a Genestealer Hybrid and commanded everyone to spit that shit back out.

Allegedly, in some short audio story the T'au defeated some Blood Angels and the Kroot didn't even try to eat the Blood Angels. We know for a fact Kroot CAN eat the Space Marines, so the only reason Kroot didn't eat the Blood Angels in that story is because the Shaper somehow sensed the geneseed flaws of the Blood Angels, aka the Red Thirst and the Black Rage, and commanded his kin not to eat them.

And there was also the blurb from another T'au story where the Kroot ate Slasneshi Cultists... And DIDN'T detect the Chaos taint. Which resulted in them becoming corrupted, horribly mutated and possessed by Chaos Daemons when they faced more Chaos forces.

So... Does it just... depend on the Shaper's individual ability and skill to detect impurity/corruption? Mistakes can happen? Classic case of messy and inconsistent writing? (Most likely)

Very simple fix, Kroot Sommeliers. Some Kroot are highly trained experts who can detect flaws from the merest sniff, some Kroot are basically on their way home from a night out at 2 am and will eat anything.

There should be a story about two noble companions together on a quest, but as it progresses the reader gradually discovers the two hate each other and their polite conversation is actually a cat and mouse game, where each one is trying to create a scenario that obliges the other to leave out of courtesy.

I would read the hell out of this. I really love stories where there's conflict on abstracted and non-physical levels. Haven't found too many of them though. One my favorites is the first third of relentless, a 40K book about a captain being sent to straighten up a corrupt worship and the first full third is the officer's trying to trick 'him out with honor and morals and regulations and him beating them on the same terms.

most of the posts in the tumblr disability support community are people asking for permission to use mobility aids. personally i understand the terror of "gettting in trouble" for literally nothing, thats a pretty normal trauma response to (gestures vaguely) all this, but you have to remember that once you start using a cane, you're going to be the one already holding a bludgeoning weapon every time someone is rude to you for the rest of your life

here's the truth. you can use a mobility aid for any reason. sure it's uncool to take limited disability resources (like scooters at Target or whatever) just for fun if you can walk and stand without any discomfort, dont do that, someone whose whole day or week could be wiped out might need that scooter more in a place where the scooters are a limited resource, but if you want the buy and own in your house a wheelchair or a cane or a rollator or a neck brace or any other item that will make your life easier, it's fine. it's always fine./ there are so many just rotting in the inventories of thrift stores or being given away on craigslist. you can buy and use your own cane for no reason except that you think it's a good fashion accessory. you can buy and own a wheelchair even if it just makes it easier to roll around your floor and pick up your dirty laundry when youre tired. you dont need permission or a diagnosis. in fact walking sticks and canes used to be standard for most men and many women during previous eras of human history. people on hikes who are completely able-bodied will use walking sticks just because it's easier to walk long distances with one. if anyone asks you rude questions, be rude back to them. its none of their business actually. go with god
