thank you!!! iâll be doing Pansy/Hermione <3
this is also for @hprarepairnet and @slytherdornet âs Hogwarts Challenge!
Someone was sitting at Hermioneâs usual spot in the library.
Granted, the library seats werenât reserved or anything, and she knew that, logically, she didnât have a claim on the seat. But sheâd been sitting here for ages, sheâd come here every single day and most people who came to the library knew that,Â
so yes, even if logically, she did knew that she didnât have a claim, emotionally, though, this was her seat.
And well, if it were anyone else sitting there, she would probably just sigh and find another seat but since it was Pansy Parkinson, who Hermione had never liked, and she knew that feeling was mutual,
she couldnât help but feel that this was intentional malice on Parkinsonâs part.Â
Because there were so many seats in the library but Parkinson just happened to be in hers â this was unacceptable.
She was very, very sure that Parkinson was doing this on purpose, and Hermione definitely couldnât let her win.
(A small voice inside her asked that how could Parkinson do this intentionally when sheâd never come to the library before, it probably was just a coincidence. She ignored the voice.)
So Hermione strode forward and told Parkinson coolly, âExcuse me, but youâre in my seat.â
Parkinson raised her head lazily, her rich dark hair falling to the side, curling up slightly at the end. (No, Hermione wasnât paying attention to Parkinsonâs hair. She just happened to notice. Thatâs all.)
She arched a perfect eyebrow, her eyes slowng gazing Hermione in a fashion that suddenly unnerved Hermione, and drawled in a honey smooth voicet that wasnât made Hermione felt unfair because such a horrible person shouldnât be allowed to have such a nice voice, âYour seat, Granger? I donât come to the library that often, but Iâm pretty sure they donât have designated seats.â
âAre you sure? As youâve said, you donât come to library that often.â Hermione couldnât help asked, even if she thought it might be just a little petty.
Parkinson shrugged nonchalantly, âShall we ask Madam Pince?â Â And smirked at Hermioneâs scowl, âI thought not.â
At this point, Hermione knew that she should probably just go and find another seat, but she didnât want to let Parkinson win this easily, so she tried, âThere are plenty other empty seats around here, maybe you should find another one.â
Parkinsonâs smirk got wider, (and Hermioneâs gaze definitely did not linger too long on Parkinsonâs lips), and then she said, âMaybe you should, Granger.â
Hermione glared, unwilling to back down, and Parkinson leaned back against the chair comfortingly, âItâs amusing youâre so possessive over a chair, Granger. But you and I both know very well that you do not have a claim upon it, no matter how many times youâve sat on it in the past. So Iâve no obligation to leave.â
Hermione hated that Parkinson was right.
âHowever, since Iâm feeling generous, let me just say I wouldnât mind if you sit here on this seat.â
Hermione felt slightly surprised, but also pleased, thinking that she had finally won. Â However, a few seconds later, it become clear that Parkinson didnât have any intention of moving.
At Hermioneâs expectant look, Parkinson merely gave her a lazy grin.Â
Feeling furious of being tricked, and thinking that Parkinson probably expect her to back away in defeat and Hermione just couldnât have that happen, no she couldnât â
she came to a decision that she was sure would surprise Parkinson, and sat onto Parkinsonâs lap.
Parkinson, however, didnât look surprised at all, as she remained grinning, and then purred like a very satisfied cat, âNice, Granger.â
Hermione froze, and Parkinson drawled, âWell, arenât you supposed to be studying, Granger?â
Hermioneâs first instinct was to leave because it was ridiculous to be studying while sitting on Parkinsonâs lap, and then the second instinct was that it was probably Parkinsonâs way of driving her away from her seat and Hermione refused to back down. So ultimately, she stayed.
She pulled out her books and started studying, acting as if everything was normal, and trying to ignore her ridiculous position, but couldnât help but feel Parkinsonâs thighs beneath her, feel Parkinsonâs breath just beside her.
And after an hour, sheâd only progressed a page, which was rare for her to be this inefficient.
They remained like this for what seemed like forever to Hermione, and then curfew finally drew near. Â Hermione pointedly stared at the clock, and Parkinson smiled innocently at her, waiting for her to say something.
Finally, Hermione gave in and spoke, tartly, âItâll be curfew soon.â
âTrue,â Parkinson agreed, âyouâll have to get up first, though, as comfortable as my thighs are.â
Hermione blushed and stood up quickly, and Parkinson continued, âWell, it was nice, wasnât it, Granger? Â We should probably do this again sometime.â
Hermione blinked, shocked, and Parkinson gave her a saucy wink, and picked up her bag and left, leaving Hermione staring at the Slytherin girlâs back.
To her horror, she found that, despite all her logical sense screaming at her not to, she definitely wanted to do it again.
âDo you know if thereâs a good way to get Granger to notice me?â
Blaise turned around, pulling away from Theo for a second and gave Pansy a speculative look, his mouth twitching in amusement, âWell, sheâs always in the same seat when sheâs in the library. So if youâre in her seat âŠâ
ââŠthen she definitely has to notice me,â Pansy finished, a grin slowly spreading across her. âExcellent.â
