We got new posters! 😍❤
damar is a crucial character because he’s just some guy, providing the necessary example of a normal cardassian in contrast to dukat, just so you can see exactly how insane dukat is. like sometimes you'll meet a trek alien and they'll be The AlienName, representing the common culture and behavior of their species. you think this is the case for dukat. and then you meet damar and you're like oh, no, this guy is batshit fucked up.
#one of my favorite things about star trek is they do this with EVERY species#This is Spock the Normal Vulcan#Oh no wait hes insane#This is Worf the Stereotypically Honorable Klingon#Oh no wait he was raised on Earth and his idea of klingon honor is an unattainable ideal that klingon politicians only pay lip service to#This is Quark the stereotypically penny pinching ferengi#Oh no wait he considers himself a failure by ferengi standards and is constantly trying to fit into a home culture that doesnt respect him#This is Kira the Normal Religious Bajoran#Oh no wait shes grappling between the pacifism of her religion and the violent necessities of protecting her world#And they do this with the humans too!#This is Picard the stereotypical Good Leader (tm) balanced human#Oh no wait his whole family back on earth runs a peaceful vinyard and hes the weird one for running around getting into space battles

This beautifully embroidered costume has been used as both a robe and a dress in several productions. It was worn by Keri Russell as Jane Hayes in the 2013 film 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅. But that’s not where it originated! It was worn in 2009 by Carice van Houten as Maria Oldknow in 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆, and the year before by Emma Pierson as Fanny Dorrit in 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝑫𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒊𝒕. This costume has been used several more times over the years. Visit our website to find out where! Bit.ly/RegRom040

I get the appeal of a road trip playlist carefully tailored to your musical tastes and your route, but the true road trip experience is listening to the radio, whatever stations you can get, and finding that one song that seems to always be playing every couple of hours wherever you are that becomes an indelible part of the experience.
"We're living through the ongoing fascist collapse of the United States but I still gotta clean the kitchen and go to work tomorrow" sure is the mood right now, huh.
reminder that "allies welcome" was once secret code for "those not out yet can still participate without putting themselves at risk", and for those who aren't out yet to comfortably exist in these spaces you have to let allies exist in those spaces too.
this is also important for queer people who don't know anyone else there. let them bring their friend, even if the friend is cishet. many would rather not go at all, rather than go somewhere alone.
It is always better to let respectful cishets into our spaces than to try and police who is queer enough to be allowed.
I am spoiling the live action Lilo & Stitch. And I am doing it up front and plainly.
Do not fucking see this movie. Do not waste your money on this. Period.
They made Nani give Lilo up to the American government. They made Nani LEAVE Hawaii and pursue being a marine biologist. They made a native Hawaiian character give up her sibling to pursue a dream that she originally did not have. This is imperialist propaganda at its FINEST.
The original fucking movie is about family staying together. It's about indigenous people being able to stay with each other and stay in their home and be together! That's the whole fucking point! Nani is Lilo's last living relative on her homeland—it is jarring, it is disgusting and disturbing that Nani would not only leave her last blood relative alone, give her up to the very government that is harming native Hawaiians TODAY, but also travel to the "mainland" for her dream!
Not to mention, Nani's actress isn't fucking Hawaiian. She's much paler in photos and real life. They fucking darkened her for this movie.
Don't even get me started on the transgender subtext of Pleakley's "human" disguise from the original movie being completely erased in favor of him being played by a regular ass white man. Jumba doesn't have his accent, they made him more villainous, and his "human" disguise is a non-fat white man—which part of his original joke, I know, is that he was bigger and was more clumsy in the movie because of his size, but to have the main shape of his character completely removed is also fucking weird.
This live action movie is a desecration to the original. I encourage you to not see it, please. Don't give Disney any of your money on this one. Just watch the original. Please just watch the original.
The new message in the live action movie is disturbing and gross.
This is one of the most disrespectful live actions I've seen and heard of. I implore you to not watch it.
The defanging of this film is very sinister and very intentional. Because hark, if Disney made people feel bad for going to Hawaii and perpetuating the mistreatment of the native people, then people wouldn't go to their resort in Hawaii.
And let's not forget. The original movie got its messaging snubbed too.
