Wait. Which song? I don't remember a boycott.
I think it’s “try it in a small town”.
Ngl, name like that, sounds about right to be demonized by the left for no good reason.
But before I make my actual judgement, lemme give it a listen.
@omgosky so, why was this being boycotted? Did Aldeen do some shit? Or is it just saying that small town folk take care of each other on principal somehow sending a bad message, when in most cases that is, to some degree, true?
According to many leftist news pundits, and apparently the people running Country Music Television, it's "racist". Which is kind of amusing given that the song doesn't mention race a single time. They just assumed that anybody who would carjack an old lady or pull a gun in a liquor store must be black I guess?
It also supposedly "promotes violence" by... telling you that there will be consequences to committing violent crimes?
From what I’ve seen, it’s because the courthouse in the video was the location of a lynching some 100+ years ago. Sure, various other artists have shot music videos on that same location over the decades since, but no one thought it was racist then (or now).
I just can’t get over that the people saying it’s racist and promotes “vigilante/mob justice” often support the people enacting (or, should I say, failing to enact, thankfully) vigilante/mob “justice” on Kyle Rittenhouse. Just a correlation I’ve noticed, which may not be statistically accurate because its all anecdotal.
