At this time we will NOT be allowing prompts which include RPF or Real Life People, or prompts missing at least one canon character. (So character x OC or Character x Reader is fine but not OO x OC)
All other ships/tropes/themes WILL be welcome. We will not allow any judgement or bullying behaviour due to the themes they choose to create.
All event updates and communication will occur within the event discord server only. We will not collect emails for this event nor communicate through any other means. You can join the discord using this LINK
What is a Reverse Bang A reverse bang is a collaborative event where an artist and an author are teamed up to create something special for the fandom. In a reverse bang the artist signs up first, submitting a prompt they would like to create art for and an author signs up to bring that prompt to life for them in written format. Both works are published together on a selected date.
Where can these be posted There will be an AO3 collection and a masterlist on Tumblr. You can post to one or the other, or both. Whichever you prefer. The finished works will be linked on discord for the mod team to collect.
Match Ups Unlike the events we have coordinated in the past this years event will not be matched up based on first come first claimed. Once all claims have been submitted we will hand select who will be paired with who. All teams will have a private forum created in the discord server to chat, post their updates and communicate with the mod team. Match Ups are not required to be a secret but try and keep the details of your collaboration to your forum so the works themselves are not spoiled.
Minimum Requirements Minimum Artist Requirement: 1 fully rendered illustration, including a background. How complex this is, or what is considered a fully rendered illustration is up to the discretion of the artist. Full Artist FAQ can be found HERE Minimum Author Requirement - 5000 words. If the work exceeds the minimum wordcount then only the first 5k is required to be posted for the event date. The remaining may be added at a later time. There are no limitations on maximum wordcount. Full Author FAQ can be found HERE
Mandatory Check Ins There will be 3 check in scheduled during this years event. Check Ins will be conducted within the personal discord forums and are mandatory so we can check the participants progress. You will be required to link to your work and tag the mod team. Schedule and expected progress can be found below in the event timeline. Missing a check in without contacting the mod team a head of time will result in being removed from the event and a pinch hitter will be brought in to complete the prompt.
Pinch Hitters We will be taking applications for pinch hitters at the same time as when we open author sign ups. Pinch hitters are used to jump in at the last minute to help fill a prompt if a participant needs to drop out of the event. They will be held to a different goal amount to reflect the lesser amount of time available to them. This will be determined on a case by case basis.
