Terry Crews of Brooklyn 99 gives the best advice on physical fitness.
Seriously, his Reddit AMA is the most genuinely upbeat, positive actor interview ever. Another great bit:
To be honest, this was the healthiest advice for getting into working out Iâve ever read, and it really was the inspiration for me to start running and going to the gym. No judgement, no âyou need to be doing thisâ mess. Just a simple âdo what you can. and feel comfortableâ

The Radioactive Man Who Returned To Fukushima To Feed The Animals That Everyone Else Left Behind
Naoto Matsumura is the only human brave enough to live in Fukushimaâs 12.5-mile exclusion zone
He fled at first but returned to take care of the animals that were left behind
He returned for his own animals at first, but realized that so many more needed his help, too
Matsumura, who is 55 years old, knows that the radiation is harmful, but he ârefuses to worry about itâ
âThey also told me that I wouldnât get sick for 30 or 40 years. Iâll most likely be dead by then anyway, so I couldnât care lessâ
Matsumura discovered that thousands of cows had died locked in barns
He also freed many animals that had been left chained up by their owners
Many of them now rely on him for food
The government has forbidden him from staying, but that doesnât stop him either
He started in 2011 and is still going strong 4 years later
He relies solely on donations from supporters to work with and feed the animals
His supporters are calling him the âguardian of Fukushimaâs animalsâ
The man clearly has a sense of humor as well
This hero deserves way more notes.
There should be a way to donate to this guy
Actually I spent some time and I found a link to donate to him. Click here to be sent to a website where you can donate to his efforts
Happy to know this human @pidgeo_n ă»ă»ă» When I was 18, and retrieved my medical records from @luriechildrens, I found out four important truths that changed the course of my life. â«ïž 1ïžâŁ I discovered that as a baby I was labeled a male pseudo-hermaphrodite 46XY. This was shocking because I had been assigned female at birth. â«ïž 2ïžâŁ I was born with undescended testes. No one ever told me this truth, instead my doctors lied and told me I was born with âcancerous ovariesâ that had to be surgically removed in order to save my life. â«ïž 3ïžâŁ My clitoris was deemed too large (at a mere 1.5 centimeters when stretched) when I was 4 years old, and surgically altered with a medical procedure called a clitorectomyâvery similar to #FemaleGenitalMutilation. â«ïž 4ïžâŁ At age 11, I was told by my doctors at Lurie that I needed a surgery on my urethra and bladder, but discovered thanks to retrieving my medical records that they actually gave me a complex vaginoplasty-like surgery instead. â«ïžă°ïžâ«ïž All of these surgeries were NOT medically necessary, and done without my consent. â«ïžă°ïžâ«ïž All of this happened, I would find out, because my genitals didnât quite fit the doctorsâ binary perception of what ânormal femaleâ genitals should look & behave like. No medical reasons whatsoever. My body was cut, put on display and medically violated because people with M.Ds pathologize (see last post) our beautiful healthy #nonbinary #intersex bodies. â«ïž I went back to the hospital where all of this went down and asked my best friend (& amazing Chicago movement photographer Sarah-Ji @loveandstrugglephotos) to take photos of me in front of the drive way leading into the entrance of the hospital that was then boarded up and being demolished. It was a driveway I was very familiar with as young person, a driveway that lead to the gates of a small personal hell. â«ïž Lurie Childrens hospital, and all childrenâs hospitals that continue performing non-consensual medical unnecessary surgeries on intersex kids, claim to âcareâ for us when we never needed that âcareâ in the first place. If you go on Lurieâs website today, they still have clitoral surgeries listed as a medical intervention for intersex babies.

Examples of Stockholm Syndrome in Disney
 Frollo and Quasimodo
Mother Gothel and Rapunzel
Frollo and Mother Gothel convince Quasimodo and Rapunzel that their lives are dependent on them. The two villains claim the outside world is a terrible place even though they know this is not true. They also constantly emotionally abuse their victims by implying their worthlessness and destroying their self-esteems. Quasimodo and Rapunzel sympathize with their captors and even believe their captors are protecting them and treating them with kindness. However, both captors are merely using and manipulating their victims for their own selfish purposes.
NOT:
The Beast and Belle
Belle does not sympathize with the Beast when she is treated poorly. She becomes angry and leaves the castle, only returning by her own wish so that the Beast (who saves her) does not freeze to death. She does not respond nicely towards the Beast until he treats her with respect. In this situation, Belle has control and is not manipulated into feeling for the Beast, nor does the Beast treat her disrespectfully after the first night. While the Beast does have an underlying motive as to keeping Belle in his castle, he abandons this idea and sets her free to make her happy. If anything, this story is a case of Lima Syndrome where the captor starts to sympathize with the victim.
Check out this post which refocuses the purpose of Beauty and the Beast from merely (and wrongly) being about Stockholm Syndrome to itâs original purpose.
FUCKING FINALLY
I donât usually reblog stuff like this, but Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie and Iâd like to have this on my page!
this is actually a very good analysis. I take back all the times Iâve called Beauty and the Beast a âstockholm syndromeâ romance.Â
@perid4nk
One thing Iâve learned in life, if you act really self-assured and confident you can pretty much get away with anything.
For example, Iâve watched someone walk on to a plane with no passport. Just walked right on.
Once walked out of a dudeâs house with a pair of his pants slung over my shoulder. Did all the usual eye-contact, saying-goodbye movements and noises, just⊠while stealing his pants. He did not notice.Â
I told my English teacher that she graded my final paper(I did not turn one in) and that she told me it was well written. She scrambled 3 days trying to find the nonexistent paper, then apologized to me for losing it and gave me a 96%. Confidence is key
my dadâs mate just walked out of a shop with a canoe and didnât get questioned
Humans are like bees: if they sense youâre an intruder all hell will break loose, but if you get inside the hive they just assume you belong there. Be confident.
Bee confident
This is funny but also true, and a huge tip when traveling. Act like you belong, and you wonât be bothered like other tourists might. Especially on public transportation⊠do your research ahead of time and look like a disinterested commuter and youâll blend right in.
Fun Fact about Bees: they use pheromones to communicate and the pheromone to signal ALARM is the same chemical that makes bananas smell like bananas so if you eat a banana and then breathe on a beehive you will regret it and this seemed relevant when i started writing it
moral of the story donât walk into a store stealing stuff smelling like a banana
*writes I LIKE GIRLS on every other page of my journals so future historians donât try to insist that Iâm straightâ
Future straight Historians: âwe see several examples of her prioritizing a sisterly bond with the women around her, for example on page 12 she says âI like girlsâ and throughout the text she references loving women and preferring their company. This is not to say she prioritized above her romantic relationships because on page 78 she mentions talking to a man one time in her life. Itâs hard to know just how much she valued her sisterly bond with women due to this one reference of men and the ambiguity of early 21st century slang. For example on page 12 when she said she liked women, the passage continues ââŠin a lesbian way. I want to kiss girls, they are so pretty, Iâm so gay.â Now itâs difficult to understand just what that sentence means. We know that in the early 21st century kissing on the cheek in greeting had gone out of vogue but the word gay, a word with an archaic meaning of happiness gives the contextual clues that perhaps she is references that old fashioned practice.
Going back to the nameless man that is mentioned once on page 78 for one sentanceâŠâ
âNow, given that she wrote on page 12, âJust to be clear: Iâm sexually and romantically attracted to women exclusively,â one may be tempted to read this literally, but we canât rule out sarcasm.â
It may seem like @vilesbian is joking, but she really isnât.Â

Y'all are gonna flip your shit when i tell you about Dash
âtheyâ (1 word) is shorter than âhe or sheâ (3 words)
âtheyâ is more inclusive than âhe/sheâ
âthemselfâ flows more naturally than âhim or herselfâ
âtheyâ is less clunky than â(s)heâ
itâs time to replace the awkward âshe or heâ
âhey can you go ask they what does they want for dinner, and when is they coming over to watch movies with they?â
âHey, can you go ask them what they want for dinner, and when theyâre coming over to watch movies?â
Step one is learning how to talk like a human person.
Friendly reminder:
âI shouldnât like to punish anyone, even if theyâd done me wrong.â âGeorge Eliot, The Mill on the Floss (1860)
âA person canât help their birth.â âWilliam Thackeray, Vanity Fair (1848)
âBut to expose the former faults of any person, without knowing what their present feelings were, seemed unjustifiable.â âJane Austen, Pride and Prejudice (1813)
âEvery Fool can do as theyâre bid.â âJonathan Swift, Polite Conversation (1738)
âSo likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.â âKing James Bible, Matthew 18:35 (transl. 1611)
âGod send every one their heartâs desire!â âWilliam Shakespeare, Much Ado About Nothing (~1600)
âNow this king did keepe a great house, that euerie body might come and take their meat freely.â âSir Philip Sidney, the Arcadia (1580)
âIf ⊠a psalme scape any person, or a lesson, or els yt they omyt one verse or twayneâŠâ âWilliam Bonde, The Pylgrimage of Perfection (1526)
âAnd whoso fyndeth hym out of swich blame, / They wol come up and offre a GoddĂ©s nameâ âGeoffrey Chaucer, The Pardonerâs Tale (~1380)
âĂŸan hastely hiÈed eche wiÈt on hors & on fote, / huntyng wiÈt houndes alle heie wodes, / til ĂŸei neyÈĂŸed so neiÈh to nymphe ĂŸe soĂŸe [Then hastily hied each person on horse and on foot / hunting with hounds all the high woods / âtil they came so near, to tell the truth]â âWilliam and the Werwolf (transl. ~1350-1375)
âBath ware made sun and mon, / AiĂŸer wit ĂŸer ouen light [Both were made sun and moon / Either with their own light]â âCursor Mundi (~1325)
Weâve been using they/them/their pronouns to indicate a person with unspecified gender for a long ass fucking time. The only reason itâs become a big issue lately is because it can be used as a semi-respectful term for trans and non-binary folks and we canât have that can we
These fucks are literally trying to change our language to hurt trans/nb folks, and claiming thatâs just the way its always been
how did that person forget the word âthemâ
âhey can you go ask he or she what does she or he want for dinner, and when is she or he coming over to watch movies with she or he?âÂ
Elle Woods was hollering back before the movement. This is why i love this movie. Itâs so progressive. Elle is a femme feminist who comes by it the hard way. She doesnât change for the bookish people, the elitists, or for the feminists. She just does what she needs to do, and what she wants, even when at first it was chasing a boy. Then the movie drops the romance. IT DROPS THE ROMANCE. chick flicks donât do that. Emmett asking her out is a footnote at the very end. And this whole time, she is classy, and lady like, and has pride in herself and her work. Sheâll go to a costume party as a playboy bunny, but like hell will she sleep with her professor for an internship. Elle is my feminist role model
Elle Woods 4ever
I remember listening to my DAD defend Legally Blonde. An uncle was saying âOh look, itâs that stupid movie again.â as he flipped through the channels. My dad responded with âOh yeah, that movie where the blonde girl with great grades works really hard to get into pre-law, studies hard and proves herself to her peers and bosses while maintaining her integrity and not sleeping with her boss? What a terrible message to send girls.â
Also, I love this movie because Reese Witherspoon.Â
And donât forget that she has serious female friends and wins the case by way of her specialist knowledge of so-called âfeminine thingsâ that no one else takes seriously enough to even bother with.
The movie also passes the Bechdel test.
LETâS NOT FORGET that even though it starts with a situation where two girls are rivals for the same guy, they BOTH choose to ignore the social codes (and hollywood bylaws) that tell them they should be cat-fighting and trying to one-up each other, and instead they realize that they make good working partners and better friends and screw rivalry, AND ALSO HAVE EACH OTHERâS BACKS RE: WORKPLACE SEXUAL HARASSMENT. And that it portrays sororities as places where women can learn to work together and respect each other and help each other out, which sets the stage for the way Elle treats everyone she meets for the rest of the movie. OH AND IT HAS A FAT SIDE CHARACTER WHO OVERCOMES EMOTIONAL ABUSE, IS NEVER FAT-SHAMED OR USED AS THE BRUNT OF A FAT JOKE, AND LANDS THE HOTTEST MAN IN THE ENTIRE FILM.Â
ALL. OF. THIS.
It is also fairly well acknowledged in legal circles that this movie inspired a number of women to go to law school, and more particularly to apply to the Ivy Leagues.
Legally blonde is a damn masterpiece.
