golden hour by the court
4 Days. 4 Products.
I didn't plan this to be a daily thing for 4 consecutive days, it just started as a random thing that I wanted to try out last Sunday.
My works are not (yet 😉) affiliated with the brands presented. Logo for mock-up purposes only.
Anyone up for a glass of wine? 🍷 Jean-Claude MAS wine - Product Shoot Mockup
This product shoot has got to be the hardest one so far. I had to try out several lighting and product setup to see what works best. Because I had to eliminate as much reflection as possible from the bottle while keeping the image well lit. Also, good thing we had an already opened box of cranberry juice or else I might have opened this wine for the sake of the shoot haha!

Tonight we're going classic! Tag Heuer in black and white.
I'm really loving product photography! The freedom to play with texture and lighting really excites me. I can't wait to try out shooting other products soon.

Back at it again with another product shoot! This time I borrowed my father's cologne. I also used my thrifted scarf to add some color and texture in the background.

Borrowed my mother's liquid lipsticks to try out product photography.

Update on the new style that I'm working on. So far I'm liking where this one is going. I still have to work on the eyes and make them smaller/proportional. The colors are more subtle on this one because I still need to buy a smoother and thicker paper.
Update: After a cup of coffee I went ham with the colors. Which one do you prefer?

Finding My Style
I've been staying up late for the past few nights dabbling with gouache and colored pencils. I just had this urge to explore and discover an art style that I love and something I can consider mine. Though as they say "nothing is original" I've been really itching to have a style that others can associate to my name. There's only one thing that is consistent with my art and that is the human interest. I've always loved portraits and lately I've been into drawing the whole body as well. Back to my late night art sessions, I've been exploring this style and I'm kinda digging it. My first few ones ended up looking like it was straight from my favorite artists' ig feed so I kept of exploring it till it felt right and genuine to me. I know I can still develop this style more and make it more "me" but for now these are what I have and I'm really proud of them.
Btw I'm back on Youtube so if you're into vlogs, art and thrifting go check it out.

For our Creative Industries class we were tasked to replicate a Renaissance painting using oil pastels on paper. I decided to work with Johannes Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring.
I’ve been working with oil pastels for years now because I used to join Poster making contest during elementary and Junior high which was an advantage. Regardless of experience working with oil pastel is still tricky and I definitely struggled especially with the shadows.
The process is definitely an experience that I enjoyed and the output is something that I’m really proud of.
