See you all next year!
Maybe I'm weird but if I stumble upon fanfic that isn't my taste or that I don't like, I literally just move on and don't say anything because someone else might like it and it costs me nothing to not be a jerk on the internet.
sometimes while in my little fandom space, I will come across a freaky, questionable ship that makes me uncomfortable and is not for me at all, but instead of harassing the op or making a call out post about them, I will mentally be like âhell yeah get your freak onâ, scroll past the post and get on with my day

I found a guide for a no tape, easy to unwrap wrapping tutorial to make Christmas a little more accessible, wish I just found it sooner
Could i not have seen that before Christmas? Anyway, queueing this for next december to save a life.
This is how they wrap surgical sets before sterilizing them (in a cloth not paper...god I wosh the cloth is a pain in the ass) except when they tuck the last bit in, they fold it over so the end is poking out of the box (like a pull tab).
I think most would agree, it all began long before that infamous conversation about reach and flexibility.
In my mind, it started in the quieter hours when the Normandy fell silent and only the hum of the engines kept them company. In the dim light of the mess hall, with half-finished cups of coffee and unspoken fears.
It was the sleepless nights and long conversations between the two soldiers sitting across from each other, learning to chase their nightmares away together. When comfort replaced caution, and companionship became something more.
Thatâs when it began...

asking for praise for a thing you made feels so humiliating like oooh look at me Iâm a little animal and I did a trick and made a thing can I have pets and treats about it. and then somebody tells you itâs good and you understand why golden retrievers are the way they are
âThis is your daily, friendly reminder to use commas instead of periods during the dialogue of your story,â she said with a smile.
âUnless you are following the dialogue with an action and not a dialogue tag.â He took a deep breath and sat back down after making the clarifying statement.Â
âHowever,â she added, shifting in her seat, âitâs appropriate to use a comma if thereâs action in the middle of a sentence.â
âTrue.â She glanced at the others. âYou can also end with a period if you include an action between two separate statements.â
Things I didnât know
âAndââ she waved a pen as though to underline her statementââif youâre interrupting a sentence with an action, you need to type two hyphens to make an en-dash.â
You guys have no idea how many students in my advanced fiction workshop didnât know any of this when writing their stories.
Okay, but someone please explain question marks when followed by a dialogue tag. How do?
âThe speech tag is still part of the previous sentence,â she explained, âso it isnât capitalised.â
âWhat do you mean?â he asked. âBut thereâs a full stop as part of the question mark!â
She nodded gravely. âI know!â she said. âA lot of people find this confusing. But the speech tag belongs to the line of dialogue, itâs still part of the sentence, so itâs wrong to capitalise it.â
She reblogged the post again, because she had recently read far too many potentially enjoyable stories marred by poor dialogue punctuation.
Iâve only seen this post in screenshots till now..
NOICE. Canât wait to use this
âThere are two more ways"âshe pointed to the blackboardââto punctuate interruptions. One is with the em dashes outside the quotations marks to indicate continuous speech. The action occurs at the same time as speech. The otherââ she sipped from a glass of water ââis em dashes within the quotation marks to indicate interrupted speech.â
Thank you, because having more than one way to interrupt dialogue is not confusing at all lol (Iâve only seen em dashes inside quotations, the other way hurts my brainâI prefer commas).
âI wonât let fear compromise who I amâ
