I'm following blogs that haven't posted in like eight years but I don't care I shall never unfollow them because I am a true and loyal knight #loyalknight
i was at an event last night in california and i went to the bar to order wine bc wine was like, a thing, and i looked at the menu and saw i was completely out of my depth bc idk any wine names, so i turned to my right and there was a man in a gorgeous suit standing at the bar beside me and i said âdo you know anything about wine?â and he said âa little, yes!â i told him i liked white and dry wines and asked if heâd order for me. he asked the server for two glasses and had one poured for each of us and then he clinked his glass on mine but he didnât take a sip, he just watched me taste mine and then he asked what i thought and i said âitâs pretty good, but like i said, i wouldnât know.â he laughed and told me to have a good time & i walked away. fifteen minutes later i found out heâs the winemaker.

i think we've done a great job expanding the view of what a child's favorite animal can be. kids these days can say they love axolotls or pangolins or coelecanths and their decision is respected. maybe their parents can even find them a stuffed animal of it if they know where to look. and i think that's beautiful
As someone who works in elementary education, kitties and puppies are still in high demand! But yes, things have definitely expanded since when I was in school, and I think part of that is adult conversations in animals trickling down to kids. Interest in protecting pollinators has given us a precious few bee-lovers (though most are still mostly worried about stings), while animals that adults find surprisingly intelligent like octopi, orcas, and crows are rising favorites. Even old favorite predators like wolves are celebrated for their friendliness within their packs rather than their ferocity to prey, probably a result of adults discussing wolf interdependency to debunk myths of alpha-omega dynamics to each other. Oddly, dinosaurs seem to have fallen in the rankings. Don't get me wrong, preschoolers still memorize seven-syllable names of prehistoric creatures that seem almost certainly made up but turn out to be real. But they don't have the dominance they used to, probably because of renewed appreciation for all the miraculous life still living on this planet!

Goddamit i hate this fucking post. I hate it because obviously if âtwelveâ followed the same pattern as the other teen numbers it wouldnât be âtwoteenâ it would be âseconteenâ. Think about it. Itâs not âthreeteenâ itâs âthirteenâ as in âthirdâ. Itâs not âfiveteenâ itâs âfifteenâ as in fifth. So with that in mind, you count âfirst, second, third, fourth, fifth,â and so on, so eleven would be âfirsteenâ and twelve would be âsecondteenâ or âseconteenâ. âFirsteen, seconteen, thirteen, fourteen, fifteenâŠ.â It just drives me absolutely mad everytime i see this post that this obvious pattern was overlooked and i cant hold in my rage anymore.
