does anyone else think that adam would have allotted ronan time in his daily calendar? after the dreamer trilogy, when he’s working in the same place, he has a special coloured marker thingy at different times each day so ronan doesn’t figure it out. especially because for adam time is a love language. maybe ronan figures it out but doesn’t tell adam because he doesn’t want it to stop. idk i think it could be cute tho

Amphibiuary 2023: A Retrospective.

February is not a good month. Let us make no bones about this. It is locked in fierce competition with January for the worst month of the year. In fact, we would go as far as argue that February is simply January wearing an overcoat, and a cheap big nose and moustache disguise. Yeah, nice try February, but we see you. We see you and your drab, dreary, desolation. It is like a black hole that sucks in all colors and vibrancy from the world. It is a month almost entirely without light or hope, as demonstrated by this weary reporter, who has just about had enough. Much like the rest of us. It is a month for sitting on public transport, and looking out of the window at the endless shades of grey (no, not those shades of grey) or inside at the tired, lifeless faces around. However, today is February 28th. The last day of this sorry stretch of desolation. And you will have noticed that we wrote almost entirely, and this was for a reason. February is not a totally lost cause, and when March rubs the sleep from its eyes tomorrow morning, we will be solemnly marking the close of #amphibiuary2023.

In tribute, we will leave you with this bounty of cute content mined from the depths of #amphibiuary2023, and thank you folks for making this month a little brighter.

Honestly as a blind person I’m so tired of seeing fictional blind characters who don’t use white canes or other guides. “They have special powers so they know what’s around them” or “they’re confident enough to not need a guide” are common tropes, and I’m tired.

Are people scared that using a white cane will make their blind character seem weak? They can’t use a cane because they’re so special that they already know what’s around them, and other blind people who use guides are inferior because they’re not special?

I’m tired. Give your blind characters white canes and other guides. Let them hold onto their friends, let them have guide dogs. Don’t make white cane users feel ostracized for not being “strong enough” to go without.

Another thing that pisses me off is when a sighted character comes up with the fantasy equivalent of braille and teaches it to the blind character. Braille was invented by Louis Braille, a blind man, in 1824. The blind character should be the one coming up with it.
