Burning bright, against the night!
guys how many times is too many times for the mc to be injured in a book? I’m up to 3 so far (none have long-lasting impacts but are moderate injuries, one is an arrow wound, one is an animal attack, and one is a fall)
Opinions?
once per book is the limit
2 is okay
3 is fine
4 is alright
Let’s go for 5
why not 6
hear me out 7
8 is the tops
9 and keep ‘em coming
Let’s put that blorbo through 10 rounds of misery
Edit: okay guys who’s out there voting for 10
Edit #2: STOP CHOOSING 10 IT WAS SATIRE
Edit #3: YOU CAN’T MAKE THE BLORBO GET INJURED 10 TIMES STOP IT YOU SICK FREAKS THERE HAS TO BE PLOT
A full length novel has room for dozens of chapters, each of which can have as much blorbo injuring as you want. The only limits in fiction are the limits of your imagination!
You can injure the blorbo as many times as you want, have you rwad azerinth healer? Girl grts all but vaporized 3 times a book and looses limbs every 5 minutes!
have you seen mha? The main character loses his arms and legs! The main character's best friend fucking dies and comes back to life! Not to mention all the bone breaking! Put them in a fucking blender!
Tbf thats not a book and the episodic nature changes how its percieved, i guess you could count injuries per season? Still puts mha firmly in the 10+ category though x3
when ur mutuals are mutual with each other
pro: squad con: i saw this post like 18 times today
Zila will never be able to add onto her 32 official reprimands, btw.
Wrong, she can give herself as many as she wants!
Not the Moonshadow elves having fidget spinners :3

just witnessed something devastating
guy on the subway with one ear pierced, little gold hoop. other guy on the subway very quickly and subtly googling "which one is the gay ear". it is not the gay ear. visible disappointment on his face as he puts his phone away.
people should remember that the word "hunk" exists
no, unless he's a young father, that's not a dilf, that's a hunk. If you want to call a childless man a dilf, at least make him middle aged
no, that's not a bear, that's a hunk. Bears must be fat and hairy
no, that's not a himbo, that's a hunk. Himbos must be dumb, beefy and kind simultaneously, if he's just dumb and beefy that's a hunk
like, cmon people, there's nothing wrong with a humble hunk. Why are you so mean to him?
brutalism hatred over. let's get some hatred going for the intarnational styles. babygirl you didn't have to make everything into a panel.
"We have developed the technology to create hanging facades, where buildings can be made using interior steel frames with panels hanging off the sides, instead of those gross old buildings where their sturdy exteriors walls supported the structure. This has allowed us to achieve the ultimate dream of architecture, the most beautiful representation of form and function we can possibly imagine: Big Box. All buildings for the next 50 years will now be Big Box. Everyone loves Big Box."
Behold, architecture.
is this minoru yamasaki’s fault
i would strongly disagree with that. Yes, he designed one of the most famous building ever in the international style, the world trade center, but that wasn't until well into the development and adoption of the style across the architectural world. If anything, the main motif of his career is his arches, and he used them liberally at a time when the arch was well fallen out of favor specifically because of modernist styles like the international style that were obsessed with the advantages of the kind of squared off shapes that could be achieved with steel beams, with the architectural world moving away from more traditional arches. He did a lot of really cool and interesting things with them. it's why the bottom of the WTC looked like that. The man loved an arch.
oh, for reference:
Rainier Tower - Seattle, Washington, USA
Northwestern National Life Building - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
St. Louis Lambert International Airport - St. Louis, Missouri, USA
Dhahran International Airport (Now King Abdulaziz Air Base) - Saudi Arabia
Pacific Science Center / 1962 Worlds Fair - Seattle, Washington, USA
World Trade Center (Demolished) - Manhattan, New York, USA
(Demolished)
(Demolished)
Why'd they demolish it? Anyone know?
I understand there were a number of criticisms, for one it was in international style.
the wii disc and the gamecube disc on the wii menu are dating btw

"without modifying" how dare you insult the hard work of our landlords
Reading the dev notes for Mina the Hollower has been a pretty stark reminder to consider the practical reasons for creative decisions. I was all "okay, but what are we really saying by making the protagonist a mouse", and then the devs are like "yeah, the main reason she's a mouse is because GBC-style sprites are tiny and her bigass ears make it easy for the player to tell which direction she's facing".
Many people are aware that copyright originated as and remains a protection for publishers, not authors.
However, there are longstanding rights intended to protect authors. These are legally called 'the moral rights of authors.' Good naming.
These rights include:
The right to attribution. To have your name on your work. Don't repost peoples work without attribution.
The right to use a pen name or to publish anonymously. Publishers should protect the privacy of authors. Service providers shouldn't require posters to provide ID.
The right to integrity. Editors should not cut up your work to make it say something you do not endorse.
So let's review:
❌ AI harms authors because it violates copyright.
✅ AI harms authors because it violates their rights to attribution and integrity.
