i think the most upsetting thing about american-flavor puritanism is how fucking patronizing it is. it's 2026 but the whole world still has to deal with a cultural hegemony grown from the gnarled vestiges of victorian-era paternalism. tax-paying adults with passports and the right to vote are treated like wayward children because of the antiquated idea that authorities must protect the weak minds of the unwashed masses from depravity and corruption. the average american can send a fellow citizen to the chair, but they can't piss in a ditch without being declared an outlaw. american entertainment media is saturated with sex, but you can't talk about it online without getting your account suspended. it's such blatant censorship at a universal scale, but because sexual content is framed as inherently dangerous, this restriction on basic adult autonomy, this blanket denial of moral and intellectual adulthood, can be reframed as protection, an expression of care, a moral duty. I animated FLAVOR FOLEY’s music video Human ft. SF-A2 Miki!!!

Here’s a post of my process work as the artist/animator 🤖✨🤝

Jamie P. of FLAVOR FOLEY dm’d me in Nov to ask if I had any availability to animate a music video! I, of course, answered affirmatively in a composed and calm way

The video had a tight turnaround, so their concept was to have some simple B&W sketchy pieces, and a simple looping hair blowing animation for the refrain, which would go from sketchy -> lineart -> colored. I imagine they meant for maybe a couple sketchy pieces but I’m insane, you see

The singer for this song is the Vocaloid MIKI!!!!! I remembered her 2009 design (with the blue!!! The fluff!!!) but didn’t know about her newer, pink designs! (WHERES THE BLUE THO)

FLAVOR FOLEY wanted Miki to look robot-y, and wanted something visually different from her official designs.

I immediately got to sketching some, but you can already tell what the problem is. ITS JUST A VARIATION OF HER 2009 DESIGN (BECAUSE ITS GOOD AS HELL AND IM BIASED)

I did also sketch what the refrain would look like– I immediately knew she needed different expressions for each version, with a big cute smile at the end!!! SHE'S HUMAN SHE'S REAL SHE'S HAPPY

Thankfully FLAVOR FOLEY gave me some more constraint ideas for Miki's design (i thrive on contraints): fluffy hair like her 2025 design, “weird eyelashes”, stars, “if we can have navy that’d be cool”, “ROBOT LINES!!! ROBOT JOINTS!!! THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE!!!!!!”

And finally rice (member of FLAVOR FOLEY) sent me a “vibe sketch” they made forever ago. And it clicked

This is it. The evangelion plugsuit. A body that’s breaking down, cables visible through the wear and tear. And a cool, pristine jacket, lovingly taken care of, perhaps belonging to someone dear to her

I worked as an animator for many years, and this was pretty simple animation… I had a lot of fun. I hadn’t animated hair in a while though, so this video saved my bacon

And after that, I just animated the whole video!!! From the concept art to finishing the animation, this took me like a week. Which is great because i had one week of break to rest from making my visual novel lol

I remember one time I got INSANELY high off of edibles while playing Among Us, and it quickly became apparent to the other players online. I forget how honestly but literally anything "sus" I did was ignored by everyone because I was so fucking high. I tested this theory by standing in front of a body and the person that actually reported it didn't even mention me. The funniest part was when I was trying to do wires, I kept fucking up over and over again, so I was just standing in front of wires for actual minutes trying to figure it out. A small crowd of players gathered around me to watch and would get mad every time someone reported a body or emergency meeting because "she's never going to get her tasks done if you keep interrupting them." I don't think anyone cared about winning at that point, they just wanted to see the high crew mate succeed in her tasks.

Finland is actually a prime example, alongside Ireland, of how membership of the European community goes hand in hand with white supremacy.
