The only time you will see this disgusting fuck on my blog. If looks could kill, young lady, that orange asshole would be dead. Stay angry.
Guardian News: “‘You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words,’ climate activist Greta Thunberg has told world leaders at the 2019 UN climate action summit in New York.”
UPDATE
There’s a certain sort of tragedy involved with the act of having a brother, blood or otherwise. Bilbo’s an only child, so he doesn’t know this. He’ll learn the full extent of it eventually. And for once one of his plans pans out exactly the way he wanted it, but he finds out pretty much immediately that he might have played himself.
In between alternating bawling his eyes out and taking mournful pulls of whiskey, something clicked.
Of course. Of course.
God, he was a moron. It was so simple.
Bilbo was jealous.
No, he wasn’t envious of Dwalin’s sudden drunken confidence that he could make things work with Thorin. He wasn’t envious of his and Thorin’s history, or even of their relationship.
He was jealous, plain and simple. Jealous of Dwalin, and of the king’s obvious feelings for him.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT
Do you see this image? Do you know what is happening? Well, I'll tell you what is happening:
THE AMAZON RAINFOREST HAS BEEN BURNING FOR 16 DAYS.
Sixteen days. Without any help or declarations of the Brazilian government. Our biggest form of animal and vegetal wildlife is being destroyed and no one is making anything about it.
São Paulo was covered by a smoke cloud this week during hours, as a result of the fire, if that single fact wasn't already alarming.
I lost hope in humanity. Because the trees are still burning right now as you read this text. Because no "famous environmentally friendly" person is talking anything about it. Because everyone else is too selfish to even care about the wellbeing of our own world.
Please, please someone help us
“Savages, savages, we’re savages Yeah Woah, woah, woah, woah Broken words Broken bones Broken windows in our broken homes Can’t you see You should never come too close Believe me cuz I know On the level with you If you think that you can handle this Then you better know who you’re messing with”

Does anyone feel like writeblr has just gone dead recently? Or just interaction has just gone down? Only me? Ok.
I’ve noticed a huge drop in interaction as well — I can’t tell if it’s my fault, if tumblr is messing up again, or if that’s just the direction that the community and platform are going.
I try to seek out people to interact with, but it just shows me pretty much the same posts when I do a writeblr search. It’s like there’s not a lot of new content showing up for me.
I put out several original content posts every week and yet yesterday I made a stupid post with pics from an avatar maker and it got more notes in one day than most of my original stuff gets in a week (and it had external links) so obviously people just don’t like my original work lmao
I’ve noticed a drop too–my most active post is a tag game where you create your avatar and not gonna lie, it’s disappointing to see.
I’m gonna go ahead and make a guess it’s not what you guys are doing wrong (such as nobody liking your WIPs or because you took a hiatus or anything) but:
In some parts of the world, it’s summer, and people may be vacationing so don’t have access to the internet, or it’s very likely they don’t want to access the internet during vacation. In other parts, school is in session (maybe?).
It’s also Camp NaNo month, so everyone is likely trying to focus and work on that.
Yeah, writers are migrating to other websites. I don’t know, genuinely, if it’s WattPad or if it’s another website they’re going to. I personally wish there was another website like tumblr.
This website is broken, and they’re now continuously breaking it. From removing line breaks, unable to do read mores on asks (the option is there, but it won’t do it) so it can be hard to fill out prompts, tagging not working (as of right now, I cannot tag four people–I’m following them but it won’t let me tag ‘em), blockquotes are fuq’d. No idea what the hell @staff is doing but.
People may now be feeling like their works aren’t good enough because they’re not receiving enough notes. Or perhaps because they don’t feel like their graphics are good enough/can’t make graphics, so their works don’t get as noticed.
This just may be a minor thing, and as summer comes to a close, or starts for others, activity will pick back up again.
And on this website, it’s just really hard to get noticed. Honestly? It’s hard to get noticed anywhere no matter what.
How to fix this? I dunno. There’s many events for people to partake in as of right now, and it’s people’s choice to do so. @pens-swords-stuff is doing the WIP blind date thing (which is super cool!), which might help a little bit?
Just my thoughts.
I’ve definitely noticed a shift, at least, in the community. Fewer people are getting involved in looking and sharing other’s works.
I think we’ve just started communicating less. More people are waiting for interaction before they give it themselves.
It’s really something I think we, as Writeblr, can fix together however by just sharing more of other’s works.
as someone who’s been on writeblr for freaking forever, don’t stress out! this happens every single year about twice a year, and one of those is ALWAYS around uni finales/the start of summer/July Camp NaNo (lasting anywhere between three weeks and two months imo). it will pick up again soon, you just have to wait out the slump! in fact:
writeblr is actually bigger than ever.
there are more blogs, more WIPs, more content and more interaction than there has ever been! I have watched this little corner of tumblr veritably explode over the last year -compared to past summer slumps writeblr still feels really active to me at the moment!!
i did it....maybe???
So today i wrote almost 2000 fucking words. It took me all day but i cant be fucked in gettig mad at myself cause its almost 3 times the goal i originally set myself this morning. All in all im a very proud person at the minute.
you know when you can see a scene in your head like a movie with perfect everything but when you come to put it on to paper or even a word document it's just *POOF* gone.
I’m like Bish I need you. Yes, lovely flawless Gollum impression now please get onto my page and be nice to my unsuspecting characters. But it continues to sit there watching me lose my mind and eats my snacks with a smug asshole face.
Y'all: ugh I wish fandom content creators would post more 😩😩😩😩😩😩
Also y'all when someone posts fanart/fanfic/edits/etc:
look im not popular in any way when it comes to my content creating and i absolutely understand that more attention makes you feel good about the content you’re putting out but I think that one, depending on other people for your own drive to create content isn’t really okay. also there’s always going to be more likes then reblogs like I don’t know, I don’t think this is something worth complaining about.
The main issue here is that it didn’t used to be this way. At all. And I’m certain a lot of the people who are making a huge issue out of the like to reblog ratio are people who are been here for a while (like myself) and remember the days when reblogs dominated the hell out of likes.
Up until around 2016 or so, the like to reblog ratio was the total opposite of how it is now. And it applied on posts with fewer notes and posts with a large amount of notes:
You get my point. But over the last few years it has flipped completely:
And, of course, see OP’s screenshot.
It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out that the posts with more reblogs have an astoundingly higher amount of notes because of increased exposure. Reblogging allows more people to see the content, that’s more people to either continue reblogging or at least give a like. For artists in particular who would benefit from the exposure in terms of commissions and patreon and all of that, this is a huge deal. It can make all the difference.
Tumblr as a blogging platform was created with the intent to post and share content. It’s not meant to be a consume-only form of social media like Instagram. For fandom blogs in particular, it always boggles me that people don’t share content that they like. Tumblr was appealing for fandom in the first place because of the ability to plaster your blog with amazing things that other people made - this used to be unheard of. For me, it’s like saving something precious so you can always come back to it again. It’s giving the people who follow me something awesome to look at too. Creating and sharing content is the heart of fandom.
People rely primarily on their dash for content. Most people avoid going into tags/searches because of wanky fandom drama. So reblogs are crucial for exposure! Likes are a nice gesture, but they do nothing to help share and promote content. That’s why content creators are frustrated or moving to other platforms, or why they stop making content altogether. Tumblr has its issues, but it’s still one of the best places for exposure due to its reblog function and overall post formatting. It’s discouraging seeing content creators on Tumblr as a concept die off. This site is nothing without them.
We can enjoy making things as much as possible but when we share it and no one cares enough to show it to others, it does make us wonder why we bothered in the first place. And this isn’t a new complaint from content creators. But it has worsened over time as the likes started dominating the reblogs.
It’s not that we don’t appreciate likes at all, notes are notes. But reblogs equal more notes, which equals more exposure, which equals happy content creators, which equals more content for fandom to consume. It’s a wholly positive chain of events that circles back around. Your reblog could be a deciding factor on whether that content creator chooses to keep contributing or to give up entirely.
Reblogs mean the world to us. They can really brighten our day a whole lot.
I love fem!bilbo, modern aus and bagginsheild so i put em all together. Please enjoy the moodboard for Where Plants Grow.
