The crazy thing is, ninety-nine times out of a hundred, if you asked me on any given day "Would like to see a picture of some genitals?" my answer would be "😰 No, that's... No, thank you. I have nothing but the utmost respect for people who do engage with the penis side of the internet, but personally, I've spent the better part of two decades doing all I can NOT to have pictures of dick and balls or sexy bikini babe buttcheeks blasted onto my retinas constantly. You know when there's like, a straight show and everyone's like "it's full of queer subtext between the main straight dudes, and this character is obviously autistic and they really meant to say trans rights"? And then there's a queer show and all of a sudden it's "no but they weren't sensitive about this character's trauma and the queer sex scenes are too short and they're all problematic as fuck, i can't even watch"? And then our shit doesn't get renewed, and we hated on it the whole way for not embodying the perfection we'd never dream of demanding from the straight show?

I did question my sanity when I read this the first time cause I was too fucking curious and my sick mind though it was a good idea to read the, at the time, last chapter first (it was the 7ch). Without context. Did I suffer from my actions? Yes. Absolutely. Did I regret it? No. Absolutely fucking not. That was the most insane read ever. And then I binged the whole thing. 10 out of 10. Oh my god. (If your know what my comment under the fic says, no you do not. I'm not the same person, are you crazy? That was NOT me. That person is insane. I'm perfectly normal.)

It's still getting updated. And trust me, TRUST ME, it's worth it. Still, be aware of the tags, it's a heavy one. Go easy on your minds and hearts.

fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.

“college is absolutely nothing like this” “why are we writing four people on the team scoring a hat trick in one game” “so tech work is nothing like this, hope that helps!”

if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.

Summary:

I wrote this fic for @mnemonicmadness-blog for the Hurt/Comfort Exchange, this fic has been my absolute baby.  I started working on it almost immediately after getting my assignment and it just… consumed my existence for the duration.  It was one of those stories that just had to get out of me once I got the idea for it and of everything I’ve written, it’s probably one of the ones I’m most proud of.  And I just realized I never shared it here.  Oops?  ;D  So yeah… it’s a roller coaster, but I tried to write it so it would be comprehensible even if you haven’t seen Dollhouse, so I hope you’ll give it a try?  ^_^
