Friendly reminder that you're not required to publicly take sides in any geopolitical conflict you don't understand.
tags too good to leave in tags @hyperrbolic-orange
also way too valuable to leave in tags! from @carolinanadeau
wedding dresses are white specifically so that if the bride goes axe-crazy you can rest assured you will see the blood stains all over her and it'll be sick as fuck
My orufrey
Man, I'm about to go to sleep but these ideas just keep coming to me. Anyway, here.
Oliver, arriving in Star City with a neck brace:
Reporter of a gossip outlet: "Oliver! Can you tell us where you got that neck brace?!"
Oliver: "At the hospital."
Reporter, slightly annoyed: "And what caused you such an injury that you had to go to a hospital?"
Oliver:
Reporter:
Oliver, smirking: "I asked Bruce Wayne to sit on my face."
Reporter:
Oliver: "Please expect a similar injury next month."
olruggio warning qifrey 2.0 not to drown themselves. he does not have time for that today.
Olruggio, my beloved precious self-aware prioritizing king: I like kids and I might even like to raise them but I don't think I should because I believe once you've got kids you need to put their wellbeing first and I know myself well enough to know I'm always going to prioritize Qifrey.
Qifrey, my beloved suffering gremlin man: Everything I know suggests having kids makes people absolutely miserable. I would probably hate it. I'm adopting twelve of them without informing my situ-usband*.

Sometimes a guy in a fanfiction has the ability to read someone's gaze with the same level of detail a wine taster can taste the wine
"He glared at him with anger in his eyes, but behind that longing and sorrow over things left unsaid, a subtle but desperate yearning for things to be different, and with just a hint of roasted nuts right at the end."
we've all heard about the male gaze in media, but we've yet to explore the equally important sommelier gaze
the only fun addition to this post

TIL Ray Bradbury first titled Fahrenheit 451 “The Fireman”, then called a local fire station to ask what temperature it would take to actually ignite books. The responding firemen placed him on hold and burnt a book, then reported that the heat required was “Fahrenheit 451″.

That’s such a fire fighter thing to do.
“You know what? That’s a good question. I’m gonna put you on hold while I find out”
My dad used to design kitchens at Lowe’s and one day he got a dude from one of the national labs looking to buy a countertop. Dad sent him home with a sample of a quartz-composite countertop to make sure the color will look good with his existing cabinets. The dude asks my dad what the composition of the countertop is and whether it’ll melt if he puts a pot on it (since it’s a composite and not pure stone) and Dad gives him some rough numbers and reassures him that it won’t melt if he puts a hot pan on the counter. The dude comes back with week later without the sample. The dude gives dad a detailed list of the countertops composition, to the nearest hundredth of a percentile, and the exact temperature it melts at, because he took it to his lab and melted it down. tldr, it’s not just firefighters.
Imagine giving someone a sample of the granite you use to make countertops and they come back a few days later just to tell you they fucking dematerialized it
Ok, but this is just, like, what people do if they have access to equipment. We just… put shit in it. Just to see. At this point, I’ll try and hit just about anything with an arc, just to see. I’ll sand and polish anything you’ll let me, if I’m bored enough. If I had a machine that could melt something down and tell me exactly what was in it? I’d be just waiting for parts of my world to become “trash” so I could de-materialize it and turn it into knowledge of what it was.
