In the meantime, there is a beautiful situationship growing between them as Thor continues to grow in general.

The Thor movies never really explained the Marauders. They just kinda show up as a threat Thor has to deal with between the events of the first Avengers and The Dark World and by the time that movie starts, they are already dealt with. The comics probably have their own explanation but since the MCU is its own beast, I might as well throw my hat in the ring.

On the border with the Nine Realms, there is a world that got the good ending Titan was denied. Their starving, desperate citizens managed to overthrow the tyrannical king and his gaggle of nobles and install a democracy in their place. After the king was executed, their new Head of State decided that enough blood had been spilled and chose to exile the baker's dozen nobles that refused to embrace the new government. This turned out to be a mistake, since those nobles immediately peeled off a bunch of people from the military, formed a meager battalion and decided to raid neighboring realms and pillage them for resources so that one day, they may return with a big army and reclaim the planet in the name of the old regime.

The problem is that tensions arose between those nobles almost immediately. Power struggles, old vendettas and other petty stuff made it very difficult to present a united front. Every once in a while, a noble would throw a fit and leave to form his own army, peeling off soldiers and resources from an already meager pile. And so, they soon became a bunch of fragmented bands of roving bandits, each with their own little army, still raiding worlds in hopes of reclaiming a homeland they all remember less and less. Some might say that they have come to like the raiding and pillaging life more than any kind of civilization. And by some, I mean anyone who has ever been on the wrong end of their aimless fury.

Either way, they are the entire galaxy's problem now and every once in a while, they show up in the Nine Realms like a plague of locusts.

“You brought me fast food?!” shrieks Loki, eyes going wide. “I canʼt eat fast food!”

“Itʼs not fast food,” protests Thor. “Itʼs a wrap.”

“Which I am sure was prepared very fast,” objects Loki.

“Come here,” murmurs Thor and pulls Loki onto his lap. He rips open the plastic wrapping, pulls out the roll and gently brings it to Lokiʼs lips. “One bite. For me.”

“I hate you,” Loki grumbles and then takes a tiny bite, followed by a heavy sigh. “Youʼre gonna make me eat all of it, arenʼt you?”

“I am. But just because I love you,” adds Thor, stroking his little brotherʼs back as he eats for emotional support.
