I do like the AU concept of Caine becoming human and pulling an Ariel where he has to get used to being made of flesh and blood and having skin all around him. All of the annoyances of needing to stay hydrated and eating and having to relearn everything but his mind is basically the same.
Would he be horrified at his new circumstance? Astonished? Bored? All of the above? Maybe. Maybe he longs to just go back to the life he actually understood. Maybe it's like an immortal unicorn in a human's body, feeling it die all around them, a whimsical creature trapped inside a mortal perspective.
But also he gets to not process everything at once. He gets to slow down. He gets to breathe. Ground himself. Gets to experience new things since it's difficult for him to not know something that already exists in a digital world.
It is miserable and amazing to not have control over the world. Though he does wish he could go back to being digital at times.
