I mean, Black people can be Jewish too. And were also victims of the Holocaust as well as other events in Africa committed by Germany that don't really get talked about because the Carving of Africa by European countries gets treated as a footnote at best. “A slap in the face to Jewish people” implies that it is somehow not an even graver insult to Black Jews to completely erase their existence for the sake of arguing antisemitism about a hypothetical situation for the hypothetical casting of a hypothetical movie. Which, of course, is kind of obviously what this person means, because they care less about ethnic accuracy and more about whether or not an actor appeals to their Eurocentric standards. The earliest Jews were ethnically Levantine and not white, yet it’s somehow insulting to the entire Jewish population for people that aren’t white to play Jewish people? Come on now.

as a jewish person who is part middle eastern it is so important that we get more representation beyond just white/eurocentric jews. By having just white people play Jewish characters it then contributes to the very wrong and very loud narrative that all Jews are white colonizers. It’s not our fault the only public perception conceived by hollywood of jews is so minute. and very specifically with magneto i think he has amazing potential to be a groundbreaking representational jewish character (within the movies at least. I don’t know enough about comic magnus). Especially wanda and pietro who are romani-jews.
