I've been here for like 3 and a half months now so i figured i should finally make a pinned post
So. hi! I'm libra/libraoffice, aka sedge, aka spe, aka speedyscout, aka any other nicknames you may come up with for me. I use ze/hir, they/them, or it/its pronouns (in current order of preference, but that changes a lot so please mix up which ones you use c: )
I post about a ton of random nonsense on here, and sometimes even post art (#my art)! I do my best to tag everything I reblog or post with trigger warnings when necessary (usually with both a plain tag and a tag with tw in front of it, for example both #blood and #tw blood), and I try to write alt text for any art I post. Feel free to poke me if I ever forget alt text or if something I post/reblog needs more tags!
Lastly, just to make my stance abundantly clear: if you are homophobic, transphobic, transmisogynistic, queerphobic, ableist, racist, antisemitic, a terf, a zionist, or any other kind of bigot, you're not welcome on my blog, fuck off!!!!

Music! Specifically uh, listening to it, i lack the skill to make music myself </3 I also uh. don't actually know that many artists/bands lmao, I'm bad at listening to new stuff although i've been trying to branch out more in the past year or so. My favourite bands/artists are The Crane Wives, The Oh Hellos, The Family Crest, Cosmo Sheldrake, Jhariah, and Rabbitology. (Please ask me about my favourite songs by any of them and I'll be so happy to ramble)
Animal sim or animal-related games <33 Wolfquest (both 2.7 and AE), WC:UT, Cattails 1, and Cattails: Wildwood Story are some of my favourite games ever, as well as games like Shelter 2 and Spore. I also enjoy Clangen and follow a lot of clangen blogs on here
I also have an interest in horror games, although I simultaneously think that most of them are. kinda bad, and am also too much of a coward to actually play any myself (I stick to watching playthroughs instead lmao). The only horror game I've played myself is Dredge, which has been an inspiration of mine for years even before getting my hands on it myself, although I still haven't actually finished the game haha
I have several other media interests but those come and go, at the moment I (regrettably. /light-hearted) have minecraft youtube series brainrot. I don't post about that on this blog though, I need to make a sideblog for that someday lmao

Today I wanted to talk about Kyle Bassinga. Kyle was a 21 year old man from Georgia, whose family described him as "a kind, thoughtful, and smart young man who loved nature, music, and the people around him". Kyle Bassinga was killed on February 18th 2026, just ten days after his birthday. He was found hanging from a tree in a park.
The police ruled it a suicide. The family and local community demanded an investigation. The police refused to change their ruling.
I know this website it too white for this to really go anywhere, but an understanding of the present reality of white supremacy in the United States is just so important to transfeminism here. Lynchings never stopped, white supremacy never went away, you just stopped looking.
Juliana Nzita, A 16 year old Black girl, was just found hanging from a tree on church grounds in Charlotte, NC. Police have ruled it a suicide, despite hanging ourselves from trees being like the one communally agreed way Black folks ain’t killing ourselves.
Every time I go on Twitter or Facebook I learn about another recent lynching or missing Black person going mostly unreported. Half the reason I keep an active account on either of those sites is because they’re the only place I can find out about the violence happening to Black and Trans people reasonably quickly.
But I do need y’all to know that Black folks are currently, actively, being disappeared and lynched—if they even find our bodies. Black girls are and have been more often stolen into human trafficking, especially if they’re immigrants, but I’ve been seeing new news of probable lynchings every other day. Shit is worse than you think it is right now, tumblr just too white of a site to care lol
Juliana Nzita's family has a GoFundMe*. I have not seen any statements from her family or the police department. The news sources reporting her case are more reactive than those reporting Kyle Bassinga's.
Kyle Bassinga's family has asked for space and privacy - this was the most recent article I could find on the subject. They have "praised investigators and urged the public to avoid speculation." The officials in question have acknowledged the history involved, which might be why the family called them "professional, transparent, and diligent" and said that everyone should rely on official updates.
*I could not quickly find Bueia Umba online; the best I can offer as verification is that the Union Star - a source I am unfamiliar with - cited the GoFundMe.
Note I am not especially good at research and my inability to find things does not mean they do not exist.
