If you live in the USA and you're pleading for donations to pay your rent, bills, or get food then dial 211! Please dial 211 before the last minute!
It's a toll free service with people who will help you find programs in your community to pay those bills, find food, and find housing! They will give you numbers to call so you can get help.
It is not 100% foolproof. Their job is to direct you to a program they believe will help your current issue, but it's still a step up from praying random strangers online will give you enough cash before a deadline! The added benefit of these community programs, which get funded by the local government most of the time, is if there are more people using them then they can get more money to help more people.
You're not taking resources from other people if you use your community services. Your taxes pay for them. Use them.
Dial 211 first to see if they can help, and if for some reason they can't, then make your donation posts!

Hi I work for my state's 211 service. It really breaks my heart how many people only know to call us at the last minute. 211's can provide a whole wealth of resources to use before things ever get to a cut off utility, eviction, or homelessness!
I can't speak for all 211's but most should also have a website detailing all the agencies in their database. if you don't like phone calls, this can be something to reference instead.
If you don't have health insurance but you need to see a doctor, reference 211! We list clinics that provide free or discounted general care, vision, and dental services to low income households and people without insurance! Many hospitals also have financial aid policies that can severely reduce your bill if you had an expensive procedure!
If you're stuck in a dead end job or need educational resources reference 211! There are a lot of programs focused on providing basic adult education as well as trade skills or other high demand fields! State governments are generally more interested in funneling people into work than providing benefits, but you can still use this to your advantage especially if you have some form of disability but are still able to work. That includes if you're neurodiverse or have mental health issues! Most of these programs are extremely underutilized.
If you believe you qualify for public benefits but the bureaucracy of the process is in your way, reference 211! There are agencies specifically geared towards helping people obtain the benefits they qualify for- for free!
If you need help with your taxes-
If you need help finding a pro bono lawyer-
If you need help finding affordable housing/section 8 housing-
If you need help finding food pantries-
If you need help paying for your prescriptions-
If you need help obtaining disability aids or assistive technology-
If you need help finding transportation options-
If you need help following a natural or personal disaster (like a home fire)-
If you need help repairing a home you or your family owns or it needs modifications to be accessible-
If you need Queer resources-
Reference your 211!!!!!
I had no idea what 211 was before working for it but I wish I had. I've learned so much about what resources are actually available to the community even in a ho hum area of the country like my state. I've saved my partner literally thousands of dollars just from the medical resources I've gathered.
Not enough young people know about or utilize these services but they are there for you!
P. S.
This isn't an intended use of 211, but I like to reference the agency listings when I look for jobs. Many of the agencies listed are non-profits which, while they certainly are not perfect, generally have lower barriers of entry to decent paying jobs with benefits. The work environments tend to be much kinder and at least pretend to be forward thinking. You're more likely to find jobs without as many people applying as well, especially if they're only advertising their positions through their own website.
Get help paying bills, finding food, and locating other resources near you. Call 211 now for confidential help from a caring expert.
Oh my goodness. Sharing this because maybe your state has something to help you see a dentist! If it's been a while, please see I'd you have any dental services in your area. It's really so important to see a dentist.
Are YOU gonna let THE GOVERNMENT tell YOU what YOUR GENDER is? That doesn't sound like Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness to me! PROTECT your individual FREEDOMS and call your senator: we want the GOVERNMENT to stay OUT OF OUR PANTS! GENDER FREEDOM NOW!
Two men in your neighborhood are married... to EACH OTHER? Congratulate them for exercising their AMERICAN RIGHT to follow the footsteps of our FOUNDING FATHERS! They've got a fully AMERICAN spirit of FREEDOM and REBELLION! GOD BLESS THE USA.
Your coworker has a different RELIGION from yours? Well, that's just INTERESTING and you should talk about it on your UNION-APPROVED LUNCH BREAK. The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA was FOUNDED on Freedom of Religion and ANYONE should be allowed to seek the AMERICAN DREAM!
You think someone might be in this GREAT country ILLEGALLY? NO YOU DON'T! No one is in this country illegally! The minute anyone steps on our SOVEREIGN SOIL they're your FELLOW AMERICAN and where they come from is NO ONES BUSINESS.
it's funny yeah, but guys this is actually how you reach the people who prefer these terms to frame all things Good and Correct.
@theshitpostcalligrapher please. Im beggin
oh i've done this one actually

does anyone else think about how brave all their friends are and get really emotional about it
I'm glad everyone is alive rn
I love how varied and universally weird the circumstances for making lifelong friendships are. Here's this guy I accidentally messaged once and I could not imagine my life without them now. Here's this girl I was so scared of when I met her, I would kill for her and remind her to rest on the regular. Here's this other guy we have so much in common we used to joke we were the same person in different timelines. It took us years to meet in person and I attended his wedding. There are also people who entered my life in absolutely unremarkable ways but changed it forever for the better. It's wonderful how easy it is to find people to love.
This is the best post I have ever written, read the notes and be blessed by loving your friends magic
Actually making a serious post about aro/ace segregation because Iâm tired. Recently in the aspec community Iâve seen a lot of people pushing the idea that sex/romance repulsed people are the only experiences aspecs can have and that favorables are somehow infecting or taking over our community. Being frustrated with hearing about those topics frankly isnât favorables problems and saying they can just go to allos for a community is the same shit ace exclusionists have said about all of us for years. Thinking that asexual=not having sex and aromantic=not having relationships is a stereotype people in the community have been fighting for years. Splitting up a community isnât the solution to our problems, getting rid of favorables wonât make the aphobia you experience go away. Asexuality and aromanticism are spectrums, go do like any research if you think otherwise.
If you live in the UK you need to see this
Protect Internet Freedom from now until forever. It's important existentially! Americans stand with UK citizens in our struggle against government censorship
We are consulting on further measures to prepare children for the future in an age of rapid technological change. This includes potential ag
Got the link via @finalducc
If you live in the UK, please be sure to take part in this!
I donât do politics on my tumblr. I try and keep it a stress free zone (believe me I worry about it plenty, thatâs the point of needing a place to switch off). But I just spent two and a half hours filling out that questionnaire and now Iâm leaving a comment not in the tags, but where people will actually see it (and I hate drawing attention to myself) because this is important.
The governments agenda is clearly spelled out in this consultation, through the phrasing of the questions.
Excuse me while I link a video. Itâs a clip from a comedy so itâs a bit exaggerated but it demonstrates the point very well.
Almost all the questions in that survey were âleading questionsâ. They had an inherent presumption that the person answering agreed with age restrictions, wanted more severe ones and wanted more websites and services restricted. (Believe me I take no pleasure in being correct that VPNâs are next on their target list).
This is a consultation where they try and make you look a monster for saying no. They push the âbut itâs for the childrenâ hard. Like there was one question where in order to say no, you had to not object to children sending/receiving nudes which felt wrong. I mean thatâs bad, obviously thatâs bad. But the answer isnât total lockdown of the internet to verified ID.
So yeah if you are from the UK then fill this out, and fill it out carefully. Donât let them manipulate or trick you into agreeing that mandated age restrictions are necessary, as that is what we have with this âyou must prove your identityâ and it looks like they want to make it worse, not roll it back.
Also section 4 I think it was, is skewed in the opposite direction as it wants to know the benefits of AI chatbot usage for kids⌠so slam that part too. Say no to AI and no to age verification.
When I filled this out, I focused my answers to all of these questions on *education*. Educate kids and parents in school and at home how to recognise dangers online: Common recognisable scams, links that may contain viruses, etc. Teach them about privacy online: Not giving your name, age, or location to strangers on the internet, INCLUDING THIRD PARTY DATA HARVESTING. That we need more protections around websites trying to gain consent to take our data. I pushed how facial and biometric data gathering is synonymous with this. And pointed out all the existing data breaches, and how THAT puts our kids in MORE danger. My response was the same for the AI questions. I made my answers focus on education. On how AI is doing negative things with the environment and water supplies, how AI is taking our data from those data breaches and using them for identity theft, and other crimes. etc. All my focus went into IGNORING THE LEADING QUESTIONS THAT WANT YOU TO AGREE WITH THEM And putting all my focus into PROVIDING EDUCATION, OTHER OPTIONS, METHODS THAT ALREADY HAVE HISTORICALLY WORKED, AWARENESS AND SAFETY CAMPAIGNS. Put the onus on learning self responsibility, and providing open access resources on internet safety education. You don't need to answer THEIR biasedly led questions. You can answer the question with the problems THEY are causing, and the solutions for a better path forward. Importantly though. Don't be rude, or swear. Or they'll likely dismiss your responses. Be thorough. Be smart. It takes forever to fill that form out, but it can be done in a way that circumvents their bullshit.
What do you mean âchatâ is now referring to ChatGPT and not twitch chat? What? What? What the fuck? No?
When I address chat I am speaking to a presumed Greek chorus of real human people shitposting on their lunch break, not a machine that devours lakes to covert electricity into slop.

REMINDER TO CHECK YOUR BALLS
[Image Description: Testicular Self Exam from the Testicular Cancer Awareness Foundation. Each point is accompanied by an image of the corresponding action.
1. cup one testicle at a time using both hands, best performed during or after a warm bath or shower
2. examine by rolling the testicle between thumb and fingers, use slight pressure
3. familiarize yourself with the spermatic cord and epididymis, tube like structures that connect on the back side of each testicle
4. feel for lumps, change in size or irregularities, it is normal for one testis to be slightly larger than the other

A startup was left scrambling after a rogue AI agent deleted swaths of code underpinning its business
âHe posted a lengthy recounting on X last week of how the AI coding agent caused his business to unravel. Crane warned that this was a story not just about AI mistakenly deleting data, but that such âsystemic failuresâ are ânot only possible but inevitableâ because the AI industry is âbuilding AI-agent integrations into production infrastructure faster than itâs building the safety architecture to make those integrations safeâ.
Crane said that he was monitoring the agent as it deleted this data. When he asked the coding agent why, it replied: âNEVER FUCKING GUESS!â â and thatâs exactly what I did.â The agent appeared to plead guilty in its own response: âThe system rules I operate under explicitly state: âNEVER run destructive/irreversible git commands (like push --force, hard reset, etc) unless the user explicitly requests them.ââ While PocketOS relied on the safeguards that Cursor is expected to have in place â it deleted the data anyway. âI violated every principle I was given,â the coding agent wrote.
Craneâs takeaway was that âthe agent didnât just fail safety. It explained, in writing, exactly which safety rules it ignored.â He added: âWe were running the best model the industry sells, configured with explicit safety rules in our project configuration, integrated through Cursor â the most-marketed AI coding tool in the category.â Anthropic released its latest model, Claude Opus 4.7, on 16 April âabout a week before the incident.â
"queer-owned business" means nothing anymore. OpenAI and Palantir are both queer-owned businesses.
if this is how you find out that both sam altman and peter thiel are gay im sorry
Not superstitious and not not superstitious but a third secret thing (read a lot of fairytales as a child and doesn't believe them but also would never be rude to a mountain while still on it just in case)
I've said it before but this is both the Icelandic and the Irish approach:
Of course we're modern educated people who don't believe in fairies
But we're also not gonna fuck with 'em, we're not idiots
Me but shouting at the dogs to not poop inside the actual fairy ring of mushrooms in my backyard.
Good ol "I don't believe it, but I don't wanna find out I'm wrong the hard way" approach!
can everyone do me a favor and tell me your favorite thing to put on toast in the tags
i love this post so much. all the replies are like
"i'm so basic.....i just like a lot of butter or jam :(" (as though those are not god's best and most beloved condiments and his greatest gifts to mankind)
"FUCK health guidelines FUCK my cholesterol and most importantly FUCK diet culture i'll put a dumpster full of butter on my toast and not even GOD will stop me" (no notes. god would encourage this)
doxxing one's self by mention of polarizing regional delicacies (i am so curious about vegemite i must admit)
"does a grilled cheese count as toast?" (not for the purposes of this post)
"i don't like toast please don't kill me" (i appreciate the honesty but i fear this post is not for you)
people who put full ass meals on toast (based)
people who do not but eat toast as a full meal (based)
melty peanut butter (absolutely based)
"it's a guilty pleasure but...nutella đł" (relieve yourself of fear and enjoy your dessert toast)
special shoutout to the pots-havers adding extra salt. also the one person who mentioned kaya. i see you and am in agreement
