Hello, indie audio fiction fans, creators, music lovers, and musicians. I am working on a new thing and I am curious about your feedback. If you have a few seconds, might you take this quick survey? I'd greatly appreciate it.
Please feel free to share!
Horror podcasts will sometimes ask "hey what if this strange, unsettling individual - who is the way they are because of unnatural means - were actually a deeply kind and lonely person?" And I fall for it every fucking time.
#likely post for boombox-fuckboy to make

I mean, you're not wrong. But hey. Hey.
Horror podcasts will sometimes ask "hey what if this strange, unsettling individual - who is the way they are because of unnatural means - were actually a deeply kind and lonely person?" And I fall for it every fucking time.
"I asked ChatGPT—"
Okay and I asked the payphone that's actually an eldrich creature made of many severed body parts and now I don't have a left hand
costs less soul-wise.
a juno, for old times’ sake ✨
Hey love the show, this is one of my favorite podcasts, is there going to be another season? It's been a while since there was any news anywhere
Thank you! That's so wonderful to hear, and we're grateful you're listening.
We're working on a new series now that's currently three seasons long! It features the characters you know and continues the story you know — and adds so much more. Including a full musical's worth of songs.
So yes, there's a lot to come!
Spoilers for Greater Boston but omg the speech Isabelle Powell gives thinking she won't be able to come with the people she worked so hard for in the exodus? The way the people build a bridge to get her to Wonderland? The choir? Tears. Tears at work.
you ever think about Cecil's "and I fell in love instantly" line as an act of protection over Carlos, knowing full well that the town is never so welcoming or kind to strangers. sure he liked him. sure he liked the idea of something new in a town that never changes. sure he may have even loved him.
but "and I fell in love instantly" not as a declaration of true love, but a declaration of "do not fucking touch this one" because everyone knows that if you are on Cecils shit list, you might as well be excommunicated from the town
do you ever think about it devours and city council acknowledging how annoying Carlos is to have around town explaining things and helping, but they can't do anything because of cecil.

fandom should listen to Greater Boston because they would go insane for Michael&Leon. I know it because i'm the shipper person every fandom intellectual look down upon, and i went insane for Michael&Leon.
also the girls. like people are always saying oh we want complex messy girls. Greater Boston has a whole huge big bag of those. Like. You hear about Nica and Charlotte and Gemma so early on.
And yes, the story is insane, and sad, and funny, and impossible to describe because I genuinely don't feel "what if someone took the wild idea of turning public transport into a city and went for it" is ENOUGH to describe Greater Boston, and I get frustrated about my inability to sell it to people.
So i have to come back to my roots as The Shipper. There is a character for every flavour of character you like in Greater Boston, and there is a ship for everyone. Come on. Listen to it. You don't even have to SHIP people to like it because actually there is so little romance, in canon, beyond the married ladies and Louisa's dating life and the wreck that is Emily and Ethan.
did i mention the Stamatis yet. it has the Stamatis. Dont you love doomed siblings.
Just listened to Greater Boston Episode 10 and holy shitttttt.
Nica Stamatis is soooooo- I love her character, and honestly before this episode I wasn’t really feeling her. But the mix of anger and disappointment at herself and others is so relatable. The horrible feeling that she is Trying and Trying and Trying and Trying to change but she can’t. Her body won’t let her.
The comedy club scene is so great, there’s this lovely heart wrenching cry for help in the form of a monologue. But it’s tempered with the constant background noise of people not listening. Incredible. The need to be famous being reframed as the need to be loved for who she isn’t. It pairs so beautifully with her simmering self hatred. Like if Nica has decided that who she is, is not lovable, of course she’s going to try and become something that is loved for no reason.
The fact that she Did save someone’s life and she just doesn’t know it, is heart wrenching. It’s such a good use of the ensemble nature of the podcast.
Hello. This is Jeff. I'm announcing THE PERFECT SENTENCE today, which is an audio fiction concept album I'm releasing later this year.
It's a very personal project for me written after a death of a friend. Is it as weird as Greater Boston? No, it's weirder honestly. But it also has a heart. In some cases literally!
I'm fundraising for production costs now on Indiegogo. You can find the link to the campaign here. If you can't give, I totally understand, but if you're interested or know someone who is, please help spread the word.
Thank you all so much. I hope you find your perfect sentence someday.
"You can rely on me," I promised. "Not like that other narrator."
"What?"
"Nothing."
The team behind Archive 81 and The Deep Vault is excited to announce our next project - Generation Crossing!
Generation Crossing is a series of monologues scored by music. The whole thing is about an 800 year journey to a distant planet, and the society that forms during that voyage. The only consistent character is the Ship’s AI.
So yes, it's weird! But if you're a fan of ours we think you'll really get a kick out of this spoken-word space opera album thing. Plus, it's got a lot of familiar voices from our podcasts.
It’ll be out on Tuesday November 12th, on Spotify , Bandcamp, AppleMusic or wherever you listen to music. Here's the Bandcamp page where you can preorder it: https://deadsignalsaudio.bandcamp.com/album/generation-crossing
You can listen to us talk a bit more about the album on the Archive 81 podcast feed - we'll also talk about the future of Archive 81: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7fWOWrV9u9ZoMtnymcF3Ea?si=qFbJ4OqySJq57kB8Vrt30w
Here’s the AV Club article about it: https://www.avclub.com/generation-crossing-announcement
Thanks so much for your support, it really means the world to us. We can't wait until you get to listen to Generation Crossing, we think you'll really like it.
