It's my uncle's birthday and he's at home but he wishes he was living in a van alone and celebrating with a beer by the river. So he... created a bunch of AI images of himself doing this to put on facebook to celebrate. (He's not lying about where he is, he explained in the post that they're AI images and why he made them. Also the him in the photo is obviously a reconstruction of him.) And I don't know why but that's just so fucking depressing to me.

I genuinely don't understand why this seems so grim, because if somebody sketched themselves doing this or photoshopped themselves into a picture of a van by the river that they stole off the internet, I'd think it was mildly tacky and not much more. But for some reason these pictures seem grim as fuck.
