I’m really glad that KC Green’s work is being more widely recognized after the whole “This is not fine” comic came out.

He’s been in the comic making game for a really long time and he has…a bit of a knack for creating things that are used as reaction images and never credited back to him.

He’s a really cool guy and a great artist and I HIGHLY recommend following his work.

people who identify as women are women. this is just pointless “pat me on the back for being a good ally” showoffmanship

1) let us take this at face value and assume OP (as in the person tweeting the photo) did not create the label on the sign. This means to person who put the label on is in no way just using it as “showoffmanship” to show how they are an ally, because no one will ever know they did it.

2) Are you not aware of the fundamental concept that transphobic people do not consider transgender people to be of their gender identity? Because that is literally the source of the whole issue. Using this specific set of words isn’t calling out people who understand the issue: Its calling out ass holes and biggots who don’t.

3) Even if they are just trying to show off, point #2 illustrates why it really shouldn’t matter. Someone gets to feel good about themselves while sticking it to some douchebags, who gives a shit?

1. Even if OP didn’t make the sign, they still are saying that doing something ineffectual and frankly insulting makes one a hero. 2. Someone made an attempt to welcome those who are often oppressed, quick let’s make them look and feel like an asshole. That way when people stop doing it we can bitch and moan that no one of the majority is standing up for a minority.

people don’t deserve awards and kudos just for making a (poor) attempt. especially when their attempt does more harm than help.

But it doesn’t.

They are woman, and I do not see a difference between those who say they identify as woman (which many do use that exact wording) and those who are woman and neither should you. This sign doesn’t say woman, because many places only see those who were born women as the only kind of women.

What this sign says is simple, “this is a safe place for every kind of women.” Were are not in a day and age where every place is a safe place for transgenders, and you’re foolish to believe so.

You can bitch about it all you want, but at the end of the day a Transgender women walked up to that restroom, read that sign, and felt safe and accepted. It has done more good already than you have for attacking it.

If you are honestly trying to use "hypothetically the person who wrote this sign is a cis who only did it for attention" then yes I am. And if using a term that many Transgender people use as a term themselves makes people uncomfortable than maybe it should be there. And for being unnecessary, again it shows that this is a safe place and goddammit there is not enough safe places for those who are transgender. At least this person is trying to make one.
