↬ After splitting up, Johnny and Y/N struggle to detach their lives from one another. Their relationship as a couple lasted for almost five years until they both decided to breakup. As they start dating other people the ex-couple consistently check on each other under the guise of "friendship." Only to find out that one of them is still in love with the other.

When Johnny left your condo, he immediately called Yuta and invited him over to get drunk at a random bar. At first Yuta was hesitant knowing the situation between him and Y/N, but nonetheless he agreed to meet with him. When Yuta got there, he already found Johnny sitting at one of the bar stools in the back. He was already half way finished with his drink, but Yuta wasn’t surprised. He sat down, and ordered himself a beer and stared at Johnny expectantly. It was dead silent between the two of them before Yuta made the first move. 

“So you don’t want to get back together with her?” he asked, taking a sip of his beer. 

Johnny was fiddling with his hands, not answering Yuta’s question. Yuta sighed at him and took another swig, shaking his head at Johnny. “So do you want to or not?” 

“I don’t know. It’s hard when you know she’s no longer happy with you. When you know you aren’t enough, but she’s just settling for you.”

As Yuta listened to Johnny, he noticed that he only cared about what you wanted and not what he wanted. So he asked the question, “So what do you want?” 

“I want her to be happy. I want her to be with someone who can giver her everything she’s looking for.”

At this point, Yuta was so fed up with Johnny, rubbing his face with his hand agressively. “Dude... Come on! You know I’m not the biggest fan of Y/N, right? During high school and all of college you were together then, but I kept introducing you to a lot of girls. They all had a crush on you.”

Annoyed, Johnny gave him a look. “Okay, but what’s your point?” 

Yuta placed down his drink and pointed a finger at Johnny. “My point is, for as long as we’ve been friends, all you ever talked about was Y/N. Do you remember when we failed a major test? She got mad at you. What did I say? Break up with her. You don’t need her. But what did you tell me? You said that Sam has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Y/N is the one!”

Rolling his eyes, Johnny defended himself. “It wasn’t like that.” 

Yuta pushed his hair back in annoyance and told Johnny, “If it’s Y/N, then it’s Y/N. But if you want her to be happy, you gotta do something about it, bro.” This shut Johnny right up. Maybe Yuta was right, but he couldn’t tell if that was sober him speaking or drunk Yuta speaking because Yuta just stole his unfinished drink and chugged it, asking the bartender for a refill.

Eventually time passed, Johnny got a job and you went to one of your friend’s wedding ceremony and during those times, you both realized that you needed one another even though neither of you were perfect. You both had your shortcomings, but no relationship is perfect. It just takes time and patience to truly understand and love each other wholeheartedly.

One night, you came out of the office late. You closed the door behind you and walked down the stairs, noticing Yuta in a car, waving his hands at you. You stared at him in confusion, but eventually moved closer to him. “Yuta?”

“Yup, that’s me!” 

When you stood in front of the driver’s side of the window, you asked, “What are you doing here?”

Motioning his head towards the passenger seat of the car, he said, “Come with me.”

“What?” Half of Yuta’s body was practically outside of the car window trying to convince you to get in the car. “Come on, let’s go.”

However, you had questions yourself. “Why do I need to get in the car? Yuta, just tell me what is going on.”

Although just like you, Yuta was persistent. “Just get in the car and I’ll take you there.” Eventually you get in the car and look at Yuta for an explanation. “So, someone asked me to come pick you up and...” Yuta reached for a hanger, chilling in the back seat and pulled out a school uniform. He handed it to her and explained that she had to wear it. You got out the car and went back inside to change before the two of you drove off to who knows where.

Eventually the two of you arrived at your destination, making Yuta drag you in front of a nearby arcade. You stood near the entrance and looked at Yuta in confusion before walking towards the door. It was practically empty with no one inside. As you continued walking in the arcade, you notice a figure wearing a school uniform just like you standing in front of one of the games. When they heard your footsteps, Johnny turned around and gave you a smile. You couldn’t help but smile back as you moved closer to him. 

When you were a few feet away from him he greeted you in a way you didn’t expect. “Hi Rocket Girl.”

You laughed at the nickname and greeted him as well. “Hi Dazed Robot.” Johnny’s heart fluttered at the sound of you calling him by his nickname when you two first met. “You look cute.” He felt like his heart was about to burst hearing that come out of her mouth. 

Tears started to form in both of their eyes, but they continued to look each other in the eyes. Johnny took her hand in his and said. “Y/N. I don’t know if I’m the perfect guy for you. But I want to be that perfect guy. Y/N I hope you let me--”

You didn’t care to hear the rest, but you wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him. The two of you forgot what it was like to be in each other’s arms, so you moved away from him, he just picked you up and twirled you around like they do in those cheesy romance movies. You yelped in surprised and hugged him tightly, apologizing to him and telling him how much you love and miss him. Eventually the two of you graduated from university and started moving up in the world. Everything was starting to fall into place between the both of you.  

 You and Johnny may be imperfect, but you were perfect for each other.

The sun shone brightly through the café window, making the flowers sparkle in light. You were waiting for a certain someone to step in through the door. You clutched the present in your hand tightly, but also careful not to wrinkle the wrapping paper, you waited patiently for him.

A few minutes later the sound of the bell coming from the door could be heard. You turned your head to face the direction of the door and smiled while he looked for you. When you shyly waved your hand at him, he made his way over and sat down. “Good morning, Y/N.”

“Good morning Seungmin, it’s a beautiful day today don’t you think?” You asked him, tucking your hair behind your ear.

He nodded his head and folded his hands in front of him, resting it on the table. “Thank you for meeting me so early. I hope I didn’t come in the way of other plans.”

He shook his head and gave you a kind smile. “Don’t worry about it, I’m not doing anything until later. What was it did you want to speak to me about?”

Your body was shaking in nervousness. You didn’t think you would get this far into the conversation. You felt like you were about to faint, but you pushed the feeling aside and placed the gift down in front of him, with shaky hands. “H-happy Birthday Seungmin.”

He stared at the gift in shock. Attached was a hand written letter with his name written in cursive. “You don’t have to open it now, but I wanted to give this to you before it was too late,” you said in a hushed tone. You stood up from your seat and bowed to him before quickly bidding him goodbye and leaving the café. You didn’t give him the chance to respond before you were gone from his sight.

He looked back down to stare at the letter before opening it carefully. He thoroughly read the letter, his smile growing wider with each sentence. However, when he got closer to the end of the letter, his heart was beating out of his chest.

It read: Kim Seungmin, my heart is yours.

He got up from his seat, calling your number. “Hello?”

“Y/N, you have my heart.”

You couldn’t get his name and face out of your head I mean how could you, he was blessed from heaven above. His kind eyes and cute smile made you smile even harder, but frowned upon the thought of never seeing him again. You bumped into him by chance that day.

You were finishing up Christmas shopping and also in a rush to get back home to finish wrapping all the gifts you bought. You blew your hair out of your face before standing up to walk back home, but when you turned around, you fell back down on the ground dropping all the gifts you recently bought. “Oh man, not again. This is the third time I bumped into someone.”

The stranger quickly bent down to help you pick up all the fallen gifts. You’d be lying to yourself if you didn’t think that moment was magical. It felt like you were in a romance movie. You were hastily trying to grab one present, but the stranger picked it up for you and placed it in your hand. You finally looked up and gaped at the boy in front of you. He was breathtakingly beautiful in every way possible.

He gave you a sheepish smile before standing up and awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. “I’m really sorry about that. I swear I’m not this clumsy, but are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?”

You snapped out of your thoughts before shaking your head, “no, I’m fine. Thank you for helping me. But what about you, are you hurt?” The boy also shook his head before looking in the direction he was headed. “I have to go, but I’m sorry again.” He started to jog away, but he stopped and turned around to look at you. “My name is Mark by the way!” he yelled out before running off.

He didn’t notice, but your face was extremely red. You couldn’t believe you fell in love with a boy you just met. You smiled at the thought of seeing him again, but your smile turned into a frown when you realized that you never told him your name. You sighed to yourself thinking that you’ll never meet him again. You trudged back home in the snow and wrapped all your gifts for your friends and family. Tomorrow would be the big Christmas party your parents would be throwing at a hotel. As much as you loved the annual Christmas party, it would just be another year celebrating how single you truly were. People would be rubbing their relationship in your face by kissing under the mistletoe and holding hands everywhere they went.You grumbled to yourself and went to bed thinking about Mark.

The very next day was hectic. You and your parents decorated the hotel and made sure everything was ready before the guest began to arrive. And before you knew it, guests started to pile in and you were just putting the finishing touches on the Christmas tree. You greeted everyone happily but a certain figure caught our eye. You tried to get a better look, but your vision failed you when the figure moved away from your line of sight.

When you finished thanking all the guests, you partied the night away. But when it got a little too crowded, you moved away from everyone and stood in the back corner of the room watching everyone have fun. You smiled at the crowd of people enjoying themselves, but you just wished that you could see Mark again.

Of course, fate heard your cry to see Mark and granted you that wish. There was a sudden tap on your left shoulder, a figure slightly towering over you. You looked up at them and gasped seeing Mark right in front of you. “It’s you, you were that boy from yesterday. W-what are you doing here?”

Mark grinned at the sight of your shocked face. “I told the stars last night that I wanted to see you again and coincidentally our parents happen to be friends, so here I am. I never got your name by the way.”

“My name is Y/N and it’s a pleasure to meet you Mark.” But as soon as you realized the first part of what he said, your eyes widen in disbelief. “You’re joking right? You told the stars you wanted to see me again?”

Mark laughed, his nose scrunching up just a little bit. “Yeah, no joke as soon as I got home that evening, I wished to see you again. And then my parents told me about the Christmas party your parents were hosting and that we were invited, so here I am. Are you disappointed?”

Shaking your head furiously, you wanted him here more than anything. “No! I also wished to see you again too. I couldn’t get you out of my head yesterday and I was a little upset when I realized I would never see you again.”

Mark patted your head and brushed your hair away from your face, “well here I am. I’m glad I came here today.”

Your cheeks dusted a light shade of pink before turning your head to the side. Looking behind him, you saw that there were children giggling at the both of you. That’s when your eyes trailed above you and noticed the secretly placed mistletoe above your head. Mark noticed you look up at the ceiling and laughed at the sight of the it before looking down at you.

“It would be rude of us to break tradition on Christmas night,” He states taking your hand in his. You blushed even darker at his action and covered your face with your other hand.

“Is it okay if I kiss you?”

You couldn’t speak, so instead, you nodded your head shyly. Feeling him move closer to you, he removed your hand from your face and lightly planted a kiss on your lips before pulling away.

As they start dating other people the ex-couple consistently check on each other under the guise of "friendship." Only to find out that one of them is still in love with the other.

3 Years Ago

It was almost Christmas and you and Johnny still haven’t made up. This was your first huge argument with him and you both decided that it would be best to take a break and maybe meet other people. You angrily agreed and your house immediately to go look for someone and get back at Johnny.

Once you left your house, Johnny realized he made a mistake. He only said that out of anger and frustration. He didn’t really want you to find someone else, but it was too late. Suddenly an idea came to mind. He can just ruin your dates instead. Maybe that will be a good idea? It’s probably going to back fire on the both of them but who knows what will happen.

He ran after her and immediately found you at a coffee shop with one of his friends, Kun. You never met him before so you didn’t know that two of them have already met. When he saw you grabbing your order of iced mocha latte, Johnny entered the coffee shop and ‘accidentally’ bumped into you making you coffee spill all over your clothes. You yelped from how cold it was and glared at the culprit in front of you. When you saw that it was Johnny, you were livid. “What the hell, Johnny? This is one of my favorite shirts and what are you doing here anyway? I’m on a date,” you said with steam coming out of your ears.

Johnny froze at the tone of your voice. “I wanted to order coffee?” he said, unsure of his response. You huffed at him and went back to her table where Kun was sitting at. He was a little uncomfortable because Johnny’s girlfriend just asked him to go on a date with him. However, Johnny followed you in suit and sat beside you. Kun sighed in relief at the sight of Johnny and smiled brightly at the boy.

“Johnny! It’s great to see you! Are you still planning to join the Neo Culture Tech Fraternity your freshman year?”

You narrowed your eyes at the both of them. “Wait, so you two know each other?”

Johnny sighed and turned to you. “Yeah this is one of friends, Kun. He goes to the university we got accepted to.”

You gaped at the both of them and crossed your arms. You couldn’t believe it. The guy you asked out was one of Johnny’s friends. Seeing how there was a huge amount of tension, Kun wanted to diffuse the bomb before it went off.

“So how did you two meet?”

You turned to look at Johnny and Johnny turned to look at you and at the same time you both said, “we didn’t meet. We don’t know each other.”

Confusion struck Kun like a rocket and raised his hands up in surrender. “Okay, I guess this is my cue to leave. I’ll let you two sort it out. He slowly sat up from the chair and quickly made his exit through the front door.

Once Kun left, he took your hand in his and gave you a puppy look. “I’m sorry about what I said. I didn’t mean any of it. I was just angry and frustrated and I took it out on you. I don’t want us to be mad at each other during Christmas.”

You softened at the look he gave you and sighed. “I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have reacted so rashly like that. And it wouldn’t be fun to be angry with each other during Christmas.”

Johnny kissed your cheek and grinned from ear to ear. “So does that mean we’re back together?”

You laughed at him and smacked his thigh lightly. “Yes it does, but first you’re getting me a new shirt. This one is completely ruined.”

He stood up from his seat, pulling you up with him. “Deal!” He bent down to kiss you, smiling at the taste of your iced mocha latte on your lips. “Merry Christmas Y/N, I love you.”

“Merry Christmas to you too, dummy.”

“So tell me why I’m chopping down this tree in the middle of nowhere again?” Baëkhyun asked, as he tried to steadily hold up the axe in his hands.

You turn around abruptly to look at him in shock. “It’s for Christmas of course! To get in the Christmas spirit. When we bring it back to the base, all of us can decorate it however we want.”

Baëkhyun’s eyes widen at your response. He and the boys have never celebrated Christmas together before and this would be the first time in years. They never really saw the point in celebrating Christmas because it was too cheerful for them and it was pointless if they bought gifts.“Babe,” he started, but he didn’t know how to go about explaining his reason to her because he was afraid to hurt her feelings, “the boys and I don’t exactly celebrate Christmas.” 

You roll your eyes and placed your bag down on the snowy ground before taking the axe from his hands. “Almost everyone celebrates Christmas, Baëk. It’ll be fun and you guys can write down all the stuff you want to buy for everyone and I’ll pay for it.”

“No, there’s no chance I’m letting you pay for such expensive items,” Baëkhyun said, taking out his card. “Just use this.” He placed the card in her hand and gave here a gentle smile.

You gaped at the card sitting in your hand. “You’re joking right? Do you know what you’re handing to me right now?”

“A credit card?” he asked in pure confusion. He didn’t understand what was so wrong about giving her his credit card.

“Not just any credit card you dummy! This is the exclusive black card for the extremely wealthy! I can’t take this. People would think I stole this from someone and I’d get arrested!”

The platinum-haired boy held his arms up in surrender before taking his card back. “So you don’t want to use my card? I can give you my other ones if you’d like?”

Again, she gaped at him. How could someone have more credit cards. You could barely handle one, there was no way you could handle more than that. “Maybe I’ll just buy the gifts online. Yeah, that’s a great idea,” you said to yourself, feeling lightheaded at the sudden thought of using his cards.

Unbeknownst to you, Baëkhyun was staring at you lovingly. How could someone look so cute being shocked at using an exclusive credit card. Well he couldn’t blame you, if he was a regular guy, he would’ve been extremely overwhelmed if someone gave him an exclusive credit card especially if they told him to buy the most expensive item they desire.

Still smiling at you, he dropped the axe on the snowy ground and picked up your bag, handing it to you. “C’mon babe, let’s get you back home and we can make your favorite hot chocolate. We can even splurge and add lots of marshmallows on top.”

Your eyes sparkled at the thought of drinking hot chocolate in front of a toasty, warm fire. That would be the dream right now. You nodded your head in excitement and raced him back to the car, leaving the tree all by itself. When you two were halfway home, you yelled out in disappointment. Baëkhyun stopped the car abruptly and looked at you in worry. “Are you alright? Are you hurt?” He checked your body for any signs of trauma or wounds, but once he found none, he sighed in relief. 

You punched him in the shoulder and cried out, “you forgot to cut down the tree! What are we going to do now? We’re almost home too!”

Baëkhyun rubbed his shoulders and looked at your with pure hurt. “Ow... That hurt babe.” You gave him a look and flinched immediately. “I’ll get someone else to get us a tree, we’re almost back home. I promise.”

You huffed at him and crossed your arms, not looking at him for the remainder of the ride home.

“You better or else you’re sleeping on the couch.”

Johnny couldn’t believe that you were standing outside his shared apartment in the rain with a box of pizza in one hand and an umbrella in the other. After seeing that you bribed Jaehyun, he couldn’t help but let you inside. After ushering her inside, the two of you separately sat on a couch. Y/N sat down on the couch trying so hard not be awkward. She moved her head to look out the window before looking at Johnny with a smile. “It’s pouring out there.” He looked at the window and nodded his head in agreement before speaking to her. “What’s up?” Y/N sat there, trying to form words, but it became a stuttering mess. “Oh, um... Meryl’s friend...wants to rent our condo. But it’s too low, she said she’s willing to pay 20 thousand won.” Again, he nodded his head without any thought of what she just said. Y/N gave him a confused look and said, “Johnny, that’s too low.” Trying to be reasonable, he gave her his explanation. “Well rentals are really cheap nowadays. 20 thousand? That’s okay.” “But Johnny, I feel like we can get a better offer than 20 thousand.” “But it might even depreciate.” “Johnny, our unit’s nice and well-maintained and the location is good-” “Y/N, just give it a go. That way, we’ll get our investment back. That’s what you want, right?” he said with a somber emotion. Y/N couldn’t even counter his explanation. She bit her lip and sat there, sighing. “Can’t you wait longer?” He shook his head in response, “There’s no need. So it can be over and done with.” 

Realization struck her, he didn’t want to be with her anymore and this was his way of telling her that their relationship was over. That there was no way they could patch things up. “Johnny, I think, um...” But before Y/N could finish her sentence, Cindy came down the stairs of the apartment. “Oh my gosh, Johnny! I can’t get past level three! Can you help me? Oh hi Y/N. You wanna come play?” Shaking her head no, Y/N politely declined Cindy’s offer. Smiling at Y/N she waved to her and went back upstairs. Once Cindy was out of sight, Y/N exhaled softly, “I’ll just tell Meryl that we’ll take it.” She put on her bag and got up from the chair and showed herself out of his apartment, leaving Johnny on the couch. He watched as she left before scratching his head in frustration.

After meeting up with Johnny, Y/N walked to the cafe she was supposed to meet Trevor at. Of course this time she was early and she sat down as soon as Trevor placed their order. Throughout the entire date, Y/N was quiet and playing with her food. Trevor noticed that she wasn’t as talkative as before and placed his hand on top of hers. “Hey, are you okay?” Y/N looked up at his sudden question, pretending that she wasn’t just out of it. “You seem quiet.” “Yeah, I’m okay, nothing to worry about.” Nodding his head, he placed down his fork and stared into her eyes. “Remember when we were on our first date and we were talking about traveling and going on random trips?” She smiled at the thought of their first date. It was the first time in forever since she went on a date. With Johnny, they would always stay at home. Even after classes, Johnny never walked her home, so going on a date with Trevor was a change of scenery. Taking out an white envelope, Trevor handed it to Y/N. “I have a surprise for you. Open it.” Y/N took the envelope from him and gave him a confused look before taking out plane tickets to Cambodia. “I’m flying to Cambodia this weekend and I would love it if you can come with me.” 

Honestly, Y/N didn’t know what to say. She’s never received such an expensive gift like a plane ticket before. Y/N always wanted to travel, but she hoped that it would’ve been with Johnny. Of course she was grateful, but she didn’t want to take advantage of Trevor like that and plus, she had classes still. “Thank you, Trevor, but you didn’t have to do this. But I would have to pass. I can’t go.” Despite Y/N’s answer, Trevor was not taking no for an answer. “I can always rebook the flight if you want. I can change the date; just let me know.” Y/N was hesitant to take the ticket and was internally debating what to say to Trevor, but when she figured it out, she explained it to him. “Actually, that’s not the problem. I realized that I’m not yet ready to date again.” Trevor sighed and looked at her. “Is this about your ex?” She couldn’t answer him in words, so she bit her lip and nodded her head. “I see.” She felt bad about the whole thing especially after going on dates and him going out of his way to buy her a plane ticket. “I’m really sorry Trevor. I didn’t mean for this to happen.” However, he didn’t respond. He picked up his spoon and continued to eat. After the date, she never heard from him. 

She truly felt alone.

At work, one of her co-workers got a promotion and at the office party, Y/N was drinking wine alone on a couch. When she got up from the couch, the people around her stopped moving and so did she, but she was very confused about the situation. It wasn’t until a person in front of her told her not to move because the boyfriend of her co-worker that received the promotion was planning to propose. She stared at the couple in jealousy as the girl said yes. Y/N felt sick to her stomach, but at this point she didn’t care. She took a huge sip of her wine and danced all night on the dance floor, drinking her sorrows away. Eventually she went home to feed Bugsy, their dog. When she got home, it started raining cats and dogs. She quickly entered her apartment and changed into her sleeping clothes. Once she finished getting ready, she filled Bugsy’s bowl and called him over to eat. She waited and called his name several times before looking under the bed for him. After realizing that something was wrong, she immediately called Johnny and met him at the vet.

He told her to quickly go inside and check in and when she did, they both painful waited hours for Bugsy to get out of surgery. However, luck was not on their side and Bugsy unfortunately passed away. The both of them cried in the lobby, but it wasn’t long before they had to leave. They collected their belongings and drove back to Y/N’s condo. There, Y/N silently cried into her pillow with Johnny sitting beside her at the edge of her bed. Not wanting to wake the girl beside him, Johnny slowly got up from the bed, but was stopped by the girl herself once she felt him moving away. He told her that he had to go home, but Y/N didn’t want him to leave just yet saying that it was too dangerous because the roads were slippery from the rain. Despite her explanation, Johnny attempted to leave. However, Y/N quickly hugged him, crying her heart out. “I missed you so much, Johnny. It’s sad without you here. I always want to talk to you, but when I call, you don’t pick up.” Johnny tried to remove her arms that were around his neck, but she kept her grip on him. “Y/N,” he said softly, gently prying her arms away from him. When she backed away, he was looking away from her. She quietly sniffled to herself before asking, “Can we be together again?”    

Johnny tried to contain his feelings and tears, but she could hear that he was struggling. “I’m sorry Johnny. I’m sorry if I hurt you.” He wiped away his tears before facing her again. “Y/N. It’s not your fault. You just told me how you really felt. Right?” She nodded her head and with her voice cracking, Y/N mustered up the courage to tell Johnny that she loves him. “But you were right. I’m not the one who can make you happy.” Shaking her head in distress, she silently told him no. “Let’s start over again. I will try to be happy, I promise! Johnny please...” His voice was quiet, but she could hear him loud and clear. “Y/N, no. Not like that. You deserve better. And I won’t let you settle just for me.” “But I’m not settling!” “Y/N I’m sorry, but we can’t. I have to fix myself first.” They wiped away their tears and sat in silence for a few minutes before Y/N asked him if he still loved her. He turned his face so she wouldn’t see, but his tear stained face said it all. He did in fact love her, but he refused to say anything. “Yes or no?” Again, she didn’t receive a response from him and asked, “Are you just getting back at me?” He was silent, but he finally replied to her, “I don’t want to keep your hopes up, Y/N.” With that, he got up from the bed and left her sitting there, tears forming in her eyes again.

↬ After splitting up, Johnny and Y/N struggle to detach their lives from one another. Their relationship as a couple lasted for almost five years until they both decided to breakup. Grabbing his keys, Johnny walked out of the apartment with a heavy heart. He kicked a nearby rock before getting into his car. Where was he going to stay now? I mean he could ask Jaehyun or the other guys, but he feels like he’ll be a burden to them. He sighed, turning on the engine before driving off. He turned on the radio and blasted sad music, earning looks from other drivers. Looking at the rear-view mirror, he couldn’t see the apartment anymore which only made him even more heartbroken. 

It barely hit 10 minutes before Johnny’s car started to break down. It was a hand-me down car from his father and although he tried to keep it in good condition, it was time for the car to retire. “Not now. Please, not now!” The car came to a complete stop resulting in other drivers to honking their horns at him. It also didn’t help that he was stuck in the middle of a thunderstorm either. He turned on his hazard lights before furiously hitting the steering wheel of his car. And it wasn’t long before tears began streaming down his face.

Back at the apartment, Y/N changed her clothes into something comfortable and pulled the covers over her body. She stared at the ceiling for the longest time, counting all the glow in the dark stars she placed down ever since they rented the place. Once there were no more stars to count, Y/N stared at the empty space next to her thinking about all the times she spent with Johnny. Closing her eyes, she tried to forget about him. She tossed and turned all night before removing the covers from her body. She couldn’t seep knowing that things were going to change between the two of them. Sometimes her thoughts trail over to Johnny when she doesn’t want it to, but she knows that it can’t be helped. Time can only help them get over each other.

Three months have passed and Y/N is still stressed as ever. To help keep the apartment, she’s been looking for another job, staying overtime at the office, and also managing to stay in university. She doesn’t see Mark or Lucas most of the time because she’s so busy, but whenever they do hang out, they’ve been pushing her to take care of herself first and meet someone new. But as much as she wants to, she doesn’t have the time. 

However for Johnny, it was a little different. The boys drag him to the club every weekend to meet someone, but even though Johnny appreciated the thought, he actually got a job interview the next morning. However, this girl Cindy, was keeping him from leaving. She kept dragging him to the dance floor to have fun, but Johnny was trying his best to escape from her clutches. “Cindy, I have to go.” Shaking her head, she pulled on his arm before taking a sip from her cocktail. “No, no, no. Stay.” After many attempts, Johnny managed to pry his arm away from her. “I have an early job interview.” Cindy pouted her lips and drunkenly attempted to grab his arm once again. “Don’t be boring, it’s just a job interview. Come on, you need this. Let’s have fun!” She raised her glass to his lips and ushered him to take a sip. “Just one sip.” He complied and did as he was told and took a sip from her glass, but once he finished, he moved his face away, but Cindy pushed the glass closer to him. “Another one, just one more.” 

It wasn’t long before Cindy got completely plastered and Johnny had to drag her out of the club and drive her back to his place. Once he opened the door, Cindy stumbled into his apartment with a drink in hand before plopping herself onto his bed. “I’m so drunk! Oh my god! Dude, that was so much fun!” Johnny quietly shushed her and told her that she would wake up his friends, but she didn’t listen. Cindy continued to speak while taking off her jacket. “Did you see the girl with Dino? Ooh, I’m going to sleep here.” “Cindy, my roommates-” “I’m drunk, I’m staying here.” Johnny chuckled awkwardly before clapping is hands together. “Cindy no. I have an interview in the morning.” She continued to struggle taking off her jacket as she threw a comeback at him. “Interview your face, dude!” Once she took off her shoes and jacket, she laid down on his bed and shushed him many times no matter how hard he tried to kick her out. With his hands on the back of his neck, he knew that he was screwed. At this point he gave up and went to bed. 

When it finally hit morning, Johnny’s alarm went off exactly at 8 in the morning, but he never woke up. Cindy turned off his alarm and continued to go back to sleep. Time passed and Johnny still hasn’t woken up, but when he did, it was already noon. He had missed his job interview. He removed Cindy’s arm off his chest and shot out of bed, rubbing his eyes and putting on his glasses. Although he was already late, he still got dressed and ran to the building. However, they wouldn’t let him in as he was already late to the interview and the CEO of the company had already left. He tried to reschedule, but the lady at the front desk told him that he would have to speak with the CEO himself about rescheduling. Johnny nodded his head and thanked the woman. He sighed and walked out, distraught. 

But, Johnny wasn’t the only person late, Y/N was late for her date with Trevor. She walked into the restaurant slightly out of breath, but still looking decent enough for the date. “Trev! Hey, I’m sorry.” He stood up to greet her before settling back down in his seat. “Have you been waiting long?” His facial expression was stoic, but he didn’t let it show. “Yeah, since twelve.” She gave him an apologetic smile before apologizing once again, “Sorry, the traffic was bad plus it rained.” He gave her look to say ‘are you kidding me’ before replying back to her. “Isn’t traffic always bad? I mean, this is Seoul, right? What time did you leave?” Her face said, ‘oh fuck’, but her voice remained calm. “I left around eleven.” Trevor nodded his head and said, “Well, maybe you should have left earlier.” Y/N slightly frowned at his comment and awkwardly took a sip from her water. It was silent between the two of them, but Y/N’s frown changed to an awkward smile as the two of them ate their pasta. Well, that date didn’t go as planned. 

A couple days had passed and Y/N needed to go grocery shopping, but what she didn’t know was that Johnny was going to be there as well. As she was looking through the aisles, Johnny was looking at snacks he could munch on with the rest of the guys. She pushed her caught towards his direction and stopped right behind him. “Hey, Johnny.” He turned around, slightly surprised to see her there. “Oh, Y/N.” “How are you?” she asked with a friendly smile. “I’m okay,” he said as he avoided eye contact with her. Before Y/N could ask him anything else, Cindy walked over with a bunch of noodles in her arms. “Oh my god, Johnny! Look at what I got! I love noodles!” Cindy exclaimed, placing the noodles in the cart. Once she was done, she looked up and noticed Y/N standing in front of her and introduced herself. “Hi, I’m Cindy.”  “Hi, I’m Y/N.  It’s nice to meet you,” Y/N replied, shaking her hand. Who is she to Johnny? Are the friends, dating, friends with benefits? As much as she wanted to know, she wouldn’t dare ask him.  But her thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Cindy complimenting her outfit. “I love your top. Is that a kimono?” Y/N rolled her eyes internally. Was she really asking her if her top was a kimono? Like how dense could she be to ask a question like that. But, Y/N faked a laugh and told her that she didn’t know. Cindy nodded her head before turning to face Johnny with her hand on his shoulder. “I have a genius idea, Johnny. We should go get beer.” Johnny didn’t even want to go drinking, but he agreed to Cindy’s proposal . “Yeah sure. I guess I’ll see you Y/N,” he stated before pushing the cart towards the check-out area. Y/N nodded her head and bid them farewell, biting her lip before going the other direction and she thought to herself, “I guess I should drink too.” 

That afternoon Y/N finished shopping and did her laundry all alone in her empty apartment. Picking up a pink shirt with a cute robot logo on it, it reminded her of Johnny and once again becoming sad at the thought of him. It was her one of her many flaws; she can’t seem to let go. Pulling the shirt close to her chest, she smiled sadly. Maybe she could pay him and Jaehyun a visit? And that’s exactly what she did. She knocked on the door hoping to see Johnny, but it was Jaehyun that answered instead. Upon opening said door, Jaehyun was surprised to see Y/N standing there. “Y/N! W-what’s up? “ he asked as he watched Y/N peer into the living room. “How are you, Jae? Is Johnny here?” “Johnny? Oh he’s not here. Why?” She gave him a look and attempted to peer into the room, but Jaehyun was doing his best not to let her see. “Uh Johnny doesn’t live here.” She gave him a smile and asked, “Then where is he?” Jaehyun knew what Y/N was getting at and he didn’t want them to get hurt again. He cared for them both, and keeping them apart was the best choice. “Y/N...Johnny asked me not to tell you, okay? So...Bro code, okay?” Y/N sighed and pouted her lips at his answer. “What a pity! I brought pizza!” Jaehyun grinned at her attempt to bribe him, but he wouldn’t budge. “Even with pizza, I still won’t tell you, Y/N.” Opening the box of pizza, she gave a little whiff and sighed in content. “Okay, I’ll just eat this then.” Y/N held the opened box of pizza closer to his face and that’s when Jaehyun started biting his lip. He was so close to telling her where Johnny was at. Staring at the slice of pizza, he watched her eat a slice. “So tell me Jae, pizza or bro code?” He gave a look of defeat and took the pizza box from her hand. “Fine, you win. Come on.” And that’s when the both of them arrived at Johnny’s place. 

Jaehyun knocked on his door, with the pizza box in his hand and waited for Johnny to open the door. And when he did open the door, he gave Jaehyun a look of disappointment and betrayal. He looked at a sheepish looking Y/N before looking back at Jaehyun. “Pizza?” Jaehyun asked, with a sheepish look as well. Johnny didn’t give him an answer, but continued to stare at Y/N. “Awkward,” Jaehyun said to himself as he ate a slice of pizza before running off. Johnny continued to look at Y/N before sighing.
