a wolf’s fur is so unbelievably thick that you can get like, your whole hand into it while petting. and then you can keep going

I can back all of this up, wolves are in fact Fucking Dorks and will not hesitate to try and stick their tongue in your mouth. Also, you know when you go to your friend’s house and their Big Fucking Dog jumps and puts their paws on your shoulders? Yep, wolves do that too. Except they’re twice the size. They will push you over excitedly and then get confused as to whomst the fuck pushed you over.

Can I just say how much I love the implications here? Harley and Ivy are known public figures. People know who they are, and recognize them. And this kid knows that, despite being violent criminals, they’re safe enough to go to for protection. Ivy is dead certain that the Batfamily will be okay with them intervening to protect a kid. That has some intersting implications - either she knows damn well where the lines lie and that this is overriding enough to get her a pass, or (more likely, given the first bit) this has come up before.

I think this illustrates that there is sometimes a separation between the types of villains. There are some villains who have little to no redeeming qualities like Joker and then you have what’s shown in this panel. Two of the most infamous villains with the mindset of, “Wait a minute! No, you don’t hurt children! They’re off limits!”

dreamed that kindergarten nap was called sleep class and everybody went to sleep including the teacher. if you were awake it would get a little bit foggy outside and grey and cloudy, and these guys would start approaching the classroom from behind the tree line (forgive my shitty phone drawing)

and they were at least a story tall, some of them were taller, you could see their legs over the trees. they would approach very slowly. this one (the one i drew) had a name for some reason, his name is kick.

before i was totally awake my brain conjured a meme of a bunch of these guys approaching from the treeline and a child watching from the window with the caption “when you the only one awake in sleep class 😂😳😏”

Adding to this, the Inuit communities in Nunavut KNEW where both the wrecks of the HMS Erebus and HMS Terror were literally the entire time but Europeans/white people didn’t even bother consulting them about either ship until like…last year.

Indigenous Australians have had stories about giant kangaroos and wombats for thousands of years, and European settlers just kinda assumed they were myths. Cut to more recently when evidence of megafauna was discovered, giant versions of Australian animals that died out 41 000 years ago.

Similarly, scientists have been stumped about how native Palm trees got to a valley in the middle of Australia, and it wasn’t until a few years ago that someone did DNA testing and concluded that seeds had been carried there from the north around 30 000 years ago… aaand someone pointed out that Indigenous people have had stories about gods from the north carrying the seeds to a valley in the central desert.

You know the story of Noah’s flood? Bigass rainstorm, killed all life on the known planet, one dude survived with his family because they built a boat?

Yeah, so about that.

If you go to the Black Sea, which is located to the north of Turkey and directly abuts ancient Israel on its eastern shore (the ancient version of Israel was a lot bigger, and encompassed modern-day Syria and Lebanon), you’ll discover it’s actually two seas in one. There’s an ancient shoreline several hundred feet beneath the surface, and at that level and below it, the water is an anoxic dead zone–meaning nothing can live down there, because no oxygen. Researchers actually found a 2300-year-old ship down there that looks like it sank yesterday.

So what causes a weird normal sea on top of an everything-is-dead-and-nothing-can-live-and-also-there’s-an-ancient-beach-down-here sea?

The time period for that flood matches up almost perfectly with the rough date for Noah’s flood.

There really was a bigass flood, is what I’m saying, and it really was in the region described, is what I’m saying, and it probably did wipe out all life as described in the Torah because a huge sudden influx of salt and toxic minerals created a sudden giant dead zone in what used to be a source of fresh water.

It wasn’t until the early 2010s that anybody went “hey, so, anybody ever consider that while Noah himself may have been (probably was) a folk creation, there might have been a real flood?”

It probably doesn’t seem like a “folk story” now because it’s also part of Christianity which has swallowed, well, everything, but let’s not forget: it comes out of the oral and later written tradition of a single tribe existing in the Levant about 4000 years ago. If Jesus hadn’t had a really great PR team, it would still be just-a-Middle-Eastern-folktale.
