Greetings! It is I, Baxter from the Hazbin… Happy Hotel? Whatever it is called, I have been asked things on other blogs so I decided to make a blog to answer questions about myself and my scientific work! Just don’t ask anything too ridiculous. (Hi I’m an 18+ male who’s noticed all the Hazbin blogs and decided to join in on the fun! I’m willing to do different stories in different universes to not interfere with each other, but try to remember that I mostly try to stay consistent for in character. If you posted this also on Twitter (I did see someone also asking there but dunno if it was you or another), not sure if there are any posts yet, but the MomoCon discord did estimate it's likely be posted within a month or so! That's the one where I got all the tea from Ms Sto- I mean Ms Squirrel! 😉 I'm hoping they're right, and I plan to repost the link and tag properly when it's posted! It was an absolute blast and I'm dying to watch it again!

OH BOY...

My hottest take is that he loves Slappy deep down. He always has. He's been nuts about her since the thirties.

Sure, if anybody brought it up or even implied it, he would scream and cry and deny it like the drama queen he is. He wears that Bitterest Enemy title with pride but that doesn't change the fact that he's her longest-running costar and he wouldn't have made it without her. Again, if he really hated Slappy, if he genuinely couldn't stand her and wanted to take her down for good, I don't think he'd host a whole tribute show for her or keep coming back to her.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it but I feel like there's a weird yet fierce loyalty underneath all that shtick. In all the years he's known her, he's never turned down a chance to work with her or hang out with her behind the scenes, no matter how much dynamite and slapstick he's been subjected to. He miiight even be into it.

Just a bit.

Thank you, I did! Sorry I took so long, busy week of mourning cons and applying for jobs... But I'm working on planning to post notes from the Slappy panel they had! A few things moved a bit faster than I could type, but MomoCon was recording and said that they'll be posting them within a month or so for a more precise note taking for all! I'll be tagging the Slappy and Walter fans that come to mind, and while there may be some repeats from what I've already shared, no one should be denied what the crankiest creature in the whole wide world shared with us! :p Really hoping Sherri does more cons or gets a chance to do Slappy again soon because it was a hoot and she did express interest in doing more Animaniacs in writing and acting!

Funny, I was at a convention yesterday where Sherri Stoner (Slappy's creator and VA) had a panel with the other executive producers and creators of Animaniacs... She did admit, in character, that were some flirtations over the years between her and Walter, and a party where they may have made some "goo goo eyes", but she was dating Roger Rabbit at the time so it didn't happen. Still feels like a victory though!

I'm trying to get my hands on a recording (because I was too distracted by everything moving too fast to do it myself), but the Roger story started because one fan asked how she felt about the Roger Rabbit and Baby Eddie cartoons since she preferred classics. She said that at one point, when Roger and Jessica broke up, she and Roger dated for six months. "He's always been such a sweet guy...." and it was relevant again when a certain someone (wink wink, I got y'all 😉) asked about rumors that she and Walter Wolf had a bit more intimate relationship off screen because of the spark between them. She also swore (swearing Slappy canon ahhhhh) and said she and Walter were definitely tipsy during that party, but since she was dating Roger at the time, he pulled her out before anything too crazy happened.

Also, she did mention her nemeses were now all in the same nursing home, but she sends them some flowers... with some dynamite every so often for fun. Beanie isn't much of a talker these days, but that one got a good laugh out of everyone. There was also a message from Skippy's VA in video (all grown up now) that he's now a director and producer for squirrel based media (after enough therapy from Scratchansniff to have a normal childhood XD), with plenty of parody films starring our favorite cranky creature. Can't remember them all, I'll probably do a post on what I remember later, but No Country for Old Squirrels was one.... Multiple Speed parodies with the sequels being ripoffs of other movies like Screeeeeh 3: 2 Fast 2 Furious. The whole panel had me cracking up and feeling good the whole time.

Would love to say more but I'm heading back for the main gal's autograph and such before I lose the chance (and she and Paul Dini and Tom Ruegger have one more panel today I'm gonna try to hit)! Do what you shall, Animania-fandom!

Qobuz is the most ethical alternative to spotify and even tidal (tidal is just pandora radio in a different font; you can't curate playlists, which i absolutely fucking hate, but you can curate playlists on qobuz, and the royalties they pay to their artists are far larger than spotify) that i've been able to find, thanks to this post on instagram by singer-songwriter laura burhenn. the post also lists other alternatives, including tidal, but qobuz is by far the best of the lot. they even have a free feature called soundiiz where you can transfer all of your playlists from spotify to qobuz!
