Someone once told me,

“Marry someone you can suffer with.”

I used to think that was such a sad, almost depressing statement like love was supposed to be about happiness, laughter, and shared dreams, not pain.

But life has a way of teaching you what those words really mean.

Because as time goes on, you realize that love isn’t tested in the easy moments; it’s tested in the storms, in the silence, in the nights when nothing seems to make sense.

Real love isn’t about who buys you flowers or takes you on fancy dates.

It’s about who holds you when you can’t stop crying.

It’s about who sits beside you in the darkness without trying to fix you, but instead, chooses to stay.

It’s about the person who sees your flaws, your fears, your worst days and still chooses you, over and over again.

The truth is, life isn’t always gentle.

There will be sickness, loss, disappointment, and moments that break you in ways you never expected.
