"The male Left abandoned abortion rights for genuinely awful reasons: the boys were not getting laid; there was bitterness and anger against feminists for ending a movement (by withdrawing from it) that was both power and sex for the men; there was also the familiar callous indifference of the sexual exploiter--if he couldn't screw her she wasn't real.
The hope of the male Left is that the loss of abortion rights will drive women back into the ranks--even fear of losing might do that; and the male Left has done what it can to assure the loss. The Left has created a vacuum that the Right has expanded to fill--this the Left did by abandoning a just cause, by its decade of quietism, by its decade of sulking. But the Left has not just been an absence; it has been a presence, outraged at women's controlling their own bodies, outraged at women's organizing against sexual exploitation, which by definition means women also organizing against the sexual values of the Left. When feminist women have lost legal abortion altogether, leftist men expect them back--begging for help, properly chastened, ready to make a deal, ready to spread their legs again. On the Left, women will have abortion on male terms, as part of sexual liberation, or women will not have abortion except at risk of death."
- Andrea Dworkin, Right-Wing Women (1983)
honestly i think what it is that pisses me off about Leftist people treating weird kinky sex stuff with an aura of it being like, a form of political resistance or something thats genuinely counter culture, is that... a lot of right wing people are just as kinky as you are - they have strange fetishes and they're swingers and watch all the same porn etc etc - they just are ALSO right wing. like yeah they're swingers but they also think illegal immigrants are subhuman and those things work out just fine together. ultimately- TO ME- it feels like maybe Weird Sex Stuff isn't the sort of revolutionary act we really want it to be. lol. i say this as a resident of fucking bitch ass texas - i remember when people were protesting some law by walking around with dildos strapped to their belts like guns. and it felt stupid. seeing that in public felt really dumb. the difference is conservatives just won't be open about it and that's it
tumblr has worked quite quickly to improve their reporting system to cocnretely distinguish between CSEM and sexualised depictions of children! instead of the broad "harm to minors" report, you are now given these options under the "child exploitation" banner:
this is a great move towards helping to prevent the exploitation of children on this website and on the broader internet, and undoubtedly makes categorisation of and investigation of reports much easier. sexualised depictions of fictional children are not allowed on this website according to the user guidelines, but this new categorisation means that reports of CSEM can be treated with the gravity they deserve, while user guidelines violations can be treated separately.
a story in three parts
Younger people, one thing I want you to understand about Millenials is that, overall, our parents taught their daughters to aim for careers and employment, but they didn't teach their sons to keep house. This causes a whole lot of Situations.
My brothers are my half-brothers; they spent summers and some holidays with us. I love my brothers.
Their mother picked up after them. They were not required to take plates the kitchen or do the dishes or anything like that.
My mother, who would tell you she is for equality, came home one day, sighed at the mess of dirty dishes scattered about, and said, "Gayle, help me pick up."
"Those aren't my dishes," I said. "I picked up my dishes."
My mother sighed again. "Just help me pick up."
"No," I said again. "I didn't make that fucking mess."
She never approached my brothers and said, "Boys, in this house, you take your dishes to the kitchen." She did not tell our dad, "Hey, tell the boys they need to pick up after themselves."
It was, "Gayle, pick up the dishes."
And when I refused because it was not my fucking mess, I got lectured about being difficult.
See also: My brothers--in a classic dick-move of all siblings--figured out they could pop the lock on the bathroom door and throw it open, and I would freak out because I was in the shower and trying to get five fucking minutes of peace.
Guess who got yelled at for being "unreasonable"? Not the boys. Because a lot of moms of millennial boys still said shit like "boys will be boys" when they should have said "Boys, if you got body-slammed on the concrete, I'm not taking you to the hospital."
It was similar for Xers. I spent a lot of time in my 20's teaching romantic partners and friends basic household skills and having to be really hard ass about them carrying their weight.
It is stupid and infuriating and I hate that the "Boy Mom" trend is setting yet another generation up for unfairness and domestic strife.
Yep.
One time when I was in high school, my mum came home w/ groceries. She needed help bringing all of them in. Did she ask my brother who was already outside playing basketball? No. Did she ask her husband who was sitting on his ass watching TV in the living room? Nope. She walked past both of them, through the house, and into my room where I was doing homework and yelled at me for not immediately coming out to help her.
I have been told that I am "the last of the millennials" or that I'm a "gen zer" or that I'm "on the cusp" by so many different people that I am 100% convinced this is not a generational problem. It is a societal problem. And millennial parents are not immune to raising their kids this way just bc they're younger than x'ers and boomers. Same goes for gen z'ers and every generation after us so long as misogyny remains the bedrock of society that it is.
My parents did a lot to teach my brothers to keep house but the one that sticks with me and drives me a little crazy when it runs up against social expectations is that when we were 13+, everyone was on the dinner rotation. We didn’t have to make anything fancy and we didn’t have to do it alone, but once a week, dinner was our responsibility.
When I tell people this, they always, ALWAYS, assume I have sisters. They say shit like “oh I’d love to do that, but I have boys” and when I tell them I only have brothers, “oh you must have eaten a lot of burned dinners then!”
Like, no. To both of those statements. Sure we burned stuff when we were younger but we all learned to cook before 13, that was just the age where it became a scheduled chore. You know who did burn everything? My MOM. My Boomer dad did all the cooking because my mum didn’t want to and he was the one to help when we needed it, though my mum did help with prep/chopping things.
Fast forward to now, middle brother can make the best risotto I’ve ever had and my youngest brother is vegan and makes almost all his own meals because his partner isn’t and he doesn’t expect her to make two meals so he can eat.
The worst part of this social conditioning is how bullshit it is. I know this is not ingrained, I know people are teaching their sons to be assholes, and I look at my middle brother in his immaculate apartment with tasteful decor that he picked out himself and I look at my youngest brother who does all the clothes shopping for him and his partner because she struggles with it and it makes me want to just start biting people.
Men can be better than this, I GREW UP WITH THEM. I SAW IT. The parenting described above is fucking bullshit and it can be unlearned. My mum’s Russian and my dad’s a Boomer and they unlearned it, which means anybody can.
For the people who are part of radfem communities who exclusively talk about how they hate heterosexual women for being attracted to men, they hate bisexual women for choosing men, they hate asexual women for being annoying, they hate women who are religious for buying into their own oppression, they hate women who shave their legs and wear makeup and dress for the male gaze, they hate women who support TIMs, they hate women who identify as trans men or non binary or whatever, they hate women who don't want to learn about feminism:
You have fallen into the patriarchal trap of blaming women for problems men caused. The patriarchy is wholly and exclusively the fault of men. There is no famous bisexual woman, demanding asexual woman, or ignorant tradwife who could EVER do evem close to the amount of damage that males do every single day.
If your "feminism" is just about criticising women who are ignorant to the patriarchy, you're not a feminist, you're just looking for the right women to hate, just like everyone else.
dont ever compare butch women to men i will kill you
can radfems enter my anon asks and tell me EXACTLY what privilege i have as a transgender man. not as just a man, but as a transgender man. Because i have not felt or experienced any sort of privilege and i want to know what im missing out. I want a full explanation please. thank you
hi so radfems don’t believe that. Radfems believe that people who go against gender norms are oppressed for this. This includes trans men, who go against traditional female gender roles. The trans women you’re referring to are not radfems because they don’t hold radfem beliefs and actually dismiss some of the biggest parts of radical feminism and feminism in general. I don’t know if these trans women are the ones calling themselves radfems to be edgy or if it’s something they are being called by others, but if someone holds beliefs that go against radical feminism they are not a radfem just like a person who eats meat is not a vegan
The “feminists” acting like you have male privilege are not radfems, they’re your trans women allies, and they’re doing it because they don’t respect you even a little bit
Actual radfems perceive trans men as females because that is your biological sex. We consider you females even though you identify as men simply because it’s accurate, not out of any sense of cruelty or gatekeeping. That is how you were raised and socialized, and that is the lens through which you will continue to be discriminated against socially. We see you as people who are also affected by misogyny, and who will suffer whenever anything is done to make females suffer in general. We know you don’t have male privilege.
Trans women ALSO perceive trans men as females, and it’s why they hate you - because they hate women. They talk down to you and abuse you in a particularly malicious way they would never treat other males, that they know they wouldn’t get away with if they talked to cis men. They do this because they know you are ACTUALLY discriminated against for being female in a way they are not and never will be.
They see you as a threat to their own paper-thin costume of femininity, and so to further push their narrative that they are just as womanly and vulnerable to misogyny as cis women, you in turn must in opposition be just as privileged and complicit in patriarchy as cis men. They insist so vehemently that you are men with male privilege so that they can position themselves as women with female victimhood.
If people start thinking you as trans men, who are in actuality females, are genuinely capable of having male privilege and existing as agents of the patriarchy, then it paves the way for people to assume that they, as males, must also be capable of having the social status of women and being legitimate victims of misogyny.
And they do all of this because they are addicted to being the most oppressed marginalized person in every room that walk into. As much as they can’t stand actual women, they have an obsession with the idea of sexualized female victimhood, and they crave it desperately.
“Trans men have male privilege” is not a hot take that anyone would have even pretended to humor ten years ago, when the trans community still at least acknowledged biological sex. This is a direct result of trans males pushing harder and harder to be seen as indistinguishable from biological women. Acting like there’s no real difference for things like sports, acting like there’s no true risk for assault in bathrooms, acting like hormones can change skeletal structure and like men can get periods for organs they don’t have.
The emperor has no clothes. They’ve been given inches and taken it miles, and now we’re expected to pretend to believe that sex based oppression isn’t real and females can have male privilege because of the way they dress and present themselves. Your “allies” are fucking you. Relentlessly. You’re their whipping girls and their scapegoats. Because they don’t respect women and they see you as women.
when the lesbian flag pfp user has a moidian slip so bad you dont need to check his blog to confirm it

hello instagram artist. your challenge is to do a portrait study of a woman but you’re not allowed to stylize them so their eyes are really big and more cat eyed than the reference photo. You’re also not allowed to make their noses more of a button nose or their lips full and pouty or their faces heart shaped with no double chin. Also you have to draw a fat woman. one thats actually fat and not just slightly curvier than the kpop demon hunters body type. good luck
never not thinking abt this
fun fact - I took this screenshot back in 2018 so it's not that, the guy's name is Ross Draws and he's sucked for a lot longer than that
thank youuuuuu I’ve been seeing a lot of people lately confidently claim art is ai when it was very clearly drawn by a person.
yes, all the changes to the reference were intentional and deliberate and I think that’s important context here
The largest mass shooting in American history was a hate crime against gay people. Don’t ever forget that.
June 12, 2016. Putting a date on this for when it gets reblogged months from now by people who think the post is about something from 30, 40 years ago.
I am a survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting, having grown up in Orlando and just turned 20 a month prior. If you didn’t know, there were several families who refused to claim the bodies of their relatives due to their sexuality. One family even had their relative’s name removed from the memorial. Murdered by the same hate with which their families reject them in both life and death.
Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was God’s punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:
We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldn’t live with the pain.
The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.
At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:
ID: Me kissing a woman I was casually seeing in front of an angry looking man with a “Sodomy is Sin” sign.
Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.
This year was the sixth anniversary. The first couple years I received dozens of messages checking in on me on 6/12. Year 5 got enough news coverage for people to think to reach out to me. This year it was my therapist, the woman I kissed in that photo, and a couple of other gun violence survivor friends. People are forgetting already.
With the 7 year anniversary <2 weeks away, I figured I’d reblog this
