i have 2 separate leverage/dc crossovers that i love dearly. One is Parker breaks into cadmus to steal back somebodys scientific research and comes out with 15 year old superboy like can we keep him Please iâll take him on walks and feed him every day âHes not a DOG parkerâ people can like walks. do you like walks? âI like walksâ see he likes walks.
my other one is they run some kind of con on someone in gotham and they run into bruce wayne and then half the team has to avoid him because theyve slept to or tried to sleep with him and will know damn well that they are not who they say they are
He pulls up to the art auction or whatever and hes NOT actually supposed to be there and Sophies like he cant see me i tried to fuck him and failed to rob him. And eliots suddenly recognizing that insane 19 year old twunk he had a threesome with in Kazakhstan after he and his buddy and eliot fought a bunch of dudes together is in fact bruce wayne. And nate is like well. Theres no way heâll recognize me in spite of me investigating minimum One of his insurance claims because nobody rich recognizes the help.
and then bruce starts hitting on Nate.
Everyones like YOU SLEPT??? WITH BRUCE WAYNE????????? NATE????? and nate is like What? No! No. Never what are you talking about âHE IS HITTING ON YOU. HE RECOGNIZED YOU AND IS NOW HITTING ON YOUâ and nate is like Hes acting the same as last time i dont know what youre talking about âHE HIT ON YOU LAST TIME?â noâŠâŠ.. noâŠ.
Two masterminds with contingency plan fetishes you know they had mind games that amounted to foreplay. Nate was not aware that their 5D chess games were foreplay but EVERYONE ELSE IS.
in my mind palace this happened sometime in nates insurance years where some stupid rogue stole or destroyed something owned by the Wayne trust or whatever and bruce had to put out an insurance claim because even though he dgaf about that thing people would think that he sold it himself and was too scared he'd be caught to try and double dip. So he made a claim and they sent nate out and nate was IMMEDIATELY suspicious that it was Bruce Actual Fucking Wayne he was talking to because usually this shit is handled by some employee of someone elses employee in cases with people this rich and he has to fight to talk to anyone else and so hes IMMEDIATELY convinced bruce stole it and is trying to double dip because Why Else Would He Be This Weird. meanwhile bruce is both being brucie and enjoying nates weird mind games bc he finds this guys closure rate fascinating like this guy is a fr detective without being a stupid cop thats kind of hot and is wondering if he can actually get his insurance guy to sleep with him and they spend a fun (in bruces opinion) and frustrating (in nates opinion) day together and bruce strikes out on getting laid and nate strikes out on getting evidence and bruce wayne has been nates white whale ever since. Nate is not and has never been aware that their afternoon of double speak was bruce flirting with him and lived happily within that bliss until sophie was like
Nate. Is that bruce wayne? He's hitting on you. Why is bruce wayne hitting on you?
eliots getting lit up also for not having warned them that bruce wayne is also some kind of secret insane assassin BEFORE they set foot on his turf and eliot is just like How would i know i dont pay attention to rich people news âisnt that our whole thingâ no thats YOUR whole thing. MY whole thing is hitting their dumbfuck employees until they stop moving. âBut seriously how did you not recognize him hes in every tabloid everyone is supposed to be Very Distinctive to youâ he was older and not covered in dirt when i saw him next and he stands and moves VERY DIFFERENTLY and NON DISTINCTIVELY now. His butler is MI6 though

I can actually think of an alternative explanation: small print press. Heâd put out orders for various rare books with the traveling merchants whoâd come through town, and every so often theyâd turn up with one and heâd set about printing a hundred copies or so, then sell the fresh new copies to merchants heading towards various university towns like Avignon, Grenoble, Toulouse, etc. Heâd likely keep a couple copies of each book for himself, generating a library, and might wind up with all sorts of books he couldnât profitably make copies of to sell to the universities, like fairy tales.
If thatâs his business model, then Belle might be the closest thing heâd have to an apprentice, since we can see heâs getting on in age and might have nobody else to even consider passing the business along to when he slips the mortal coil. As one final thought, her dad is an inventor, and might be the booksellerâs only actual local customer, which might also explain the relationship. Her dad would occasionally want certain types of books on natural philosophy, and the bookseller would be the one with contacts who could procure them. Just look how dangerous it was for him to go traveling all alone! Far better to leave that sort of business to professional traveling merchants.
If you combine these ideas, then you wind up with a bookseller who was training Belle as an apprentice for both small press publishing and money laundering, only to watch his very promising student be swept away by some rich guy the whole town was trying to kill twenty minutes ago. He admires her hustle, but it leaves a gaping hole in his succession plan.
Fortunately there are two newcomers in town, one with an eye for mechanics and meticulous attention to detail and one with a love of risks and charm to spare, and that's how the neurotic clock and slutty candlestick take over the legitimate and criminal wings of his enterprise respectively.
now say it with me: authors/artists dont owe you moral purity. an author/artist job is not to hold you by the hand & tell you exactly what is Goodâą & what is Badâą. you should be able to think for yourself
"yes but depictions of (morally questionable thing) are only okay if its punished in the story" thats the hays code. you just reinvented the hays code
if iâm ever brutally murdered and everyone feels like they need to do something productive in my memory, all i want is for you to pass legislation banning LED headlights in my name. regardless of how irrelevant it is to my murder. itâs relevant to my heart.
HE đ WENT đ LOOKING đ FOR đ TROUBLE đ
The euros fail to consider the form: itâs not Johnnyâs hubris that is the subject of the song. Itâs the devilâs, who thinks his power is worth more than simple love for a craft
neither americans nor the modern era have any sort of monopoly on one-upping the devil. one of the oldest european folk tales is The Smith and the Devil, in which a smith makes a deal with the devil for his soul and when the devil comes to collect, the smith tricks him into leaving him alone forever. tricking that bastard is an old and storied tradition.
"average person who makes a deal with the devil is dragged to hell after 10 years" factoid actually just statistical error. average person who makes a deal with the devil uses their new hellish gifts to outwit the old bastard so they can keep both gifts and soul for the rest of their long and prosperous lives. faust, who bargained for knowledge of all things and then wasted his 10 years chasing a girl who wasn't all that into him, is an idiot and should not have become the cornerstone of modern understanding of the trope.
anyone else get embarrassed when their self indulgent daydreams are like too self-indulgent? like oh jeez the telepaths are going to judge me

Ah yes, the first Spanish astronaut
Thank you so much for bringing the spanish joy of making fun of Carrero Blanco's death to a wider audience. Don't worry, he was a fascist, it's morally acceptable.
theyre unlocking new types of guy over on reddit apparently
âGet a rat and put it in a cage and give it two water bottles. One is just water, and one is water laced with either heroin or cocaine. If you do that, the rat will almost always prefer the drugged water and almost always kill itself very quickly, right, within a couple of weeks. So there you go. Itâs our theory of addiction. Bruce comes along in the â70s and said, âWell, hang on a minute. Weâre putting the rat in an empty cage. Itâs got nothing to do. Letâs try this a little bit differently.â So Bruce built Rat Park, and Rat Park is like heaven for rats. Everything your rat about town could want, itâs got in Rat Park. Itâs got lovely food. Itâs got sex. Itâs got loads of other rats to be friends with. Itâs got loads of colored balls. Everything your rat could want. And theyâve got both the water bottles. Theyâve got the drugged water and the normal water. But hereâs the fascinating thing. In Rat Park, they donât like the drugged water. They hardly use any of it. None of them ever overdose. None of them ever use in a way that looks like compulsion or addiction. Thereâs a really interesting human example Iâll tell you about in a minute, but what Bruce says is that shows that both the right-wing and left-wing theories of addiction are wrong. So the right-wing theory is itâs a moral failing, youâre a hedonist, you party too hard. The left-wing theory is it takes you over, your brain is hijacked. Bruce says itâs not your morality, itâs not your brain; itâs your cage. Addiction is largely an adaptation to your environment. [âŠ] Weâve created a society where significant numbers of our fellow citizens cannot bear to be present in their lives without being drugged, right? Weâve created a hyperconsumerist, hyperindividualist, isolated world that is, for a lot of people, much more like that first cage than it is like the bonded, connected cages that we need. The opposite of addiction is not sobriety. The opposite of addiction is connection. And our whole society, the engine of our society, is geared towards making us connect with things. If you are not a good consumer capitalist citizen, if youâre spending your time bonding with the people around you and not buying stuffâin fact, we are trained from a very young age to focus our hopes and our dreams and our ambitions on things we can buy and consume. And drug addiction is really a subset of that.â

too much monogamy in fandom in general
as we all know, everyone falls in love once and only once with their one true love the first time, and if they had relationships before that they werenât real and didnât love each other, and you canât love more than one person at once, and your friends and family need to be pushed out of the picture to focus more on your romance, and no one has sex with people they donât love, and if they did, theyâre dirty and they have to have hated it and the sex they have with their one true love after theyâre officially together has to be better sex than they ever had before, and no one ever breaks up for any reason other than death, and everyone wants to get married and have kids. arenât you fucking tired.
I SAID ARENâT YOU FUCKING TIRED
