I've been thinking alot about the AceAro Alastor and the fandom like discose. I think my main think is I wish we had better tags in genreal for Alastor specifically. I wish we across platforms used more platonic and QPR tags. I wish that if people did non shiping content they would tag it as acearo Alastor more. I wish people people who made explict Alastor conext taged it better so people not into that can avoid it easier. Especially on twitter. Especially on twitter Jesus christ Twitter. I've seen people start to uses non ace Alastor or Alastor isn't ace tags for fics which is a improvement. Bring that energy into art spaces.

Like tags are supost to make it so we can coexist in peace.

I want to agree. I have this problem too. All the content I find on Alastor never treats him as Ace by default, and sometimes, I find it annoying. And then I remember to have fun and not sacralize canon, because... Well, it's fandom culture? At least mine?

I've been writting anarchist couples and sorta QPR fucked up content for both Hazbin Fandom and Lol/Arcane and I'm just... yep? Please tag? I'm at lost myself, so I try and probably fail, but, yeah?

For LoL-Jinx, it was always a headcanon of mine to have her AroAce, and the Arcane made me ask 'what about Aromantic and Allosexual/Demisexual ?' and... I mean it was my own thoughts and not the default so I tagged it and tried to make it nuanced, and ultimately it was okay because no one is that attached to that peculiar headcanon.

But now I'm genuinely writting for Alastor, and because I'm no fun I try to stay close to canon, and BOY OH BOY, why are we treating him like allosexual and alloromantic is the default? Because I tag my stuff 'Alastor is on the aromantic spectrum', and I'm not even sure if I can because it could DEFINITIVELY make people looking for a real strictly sex repulsed aroace Alastor land on my fic and that's not what I'm writting? And I can't tag WHERE on the spectrum I'm placing him, and I'm now kind of AFRAID to use this tag because I'm begining to ask 'is this ace enough, or is it too nuanced?' where BOY OH BOY, I shouldn't be the one questionning if I'm writting a canonically Ace character ACE ENOUGH just because the default is NOT to tag him when we're making a sexual version of him, thus possibly making me enter a space I should not be allowed in by accident?

I get it, no one tags a draco fanfic 'by the way, obviously everyone is gay', but what do you want me to do? put the tag and a warning to say 'psych! I said on the spectrum! this is still still lewd!'?

I don't knoooooow, I just don't know. Granted Ao3 is awesome for this, people can opt-out of the things without even showing the tag to be spoiled about it. Twitter is it's own can of worm, I suppose we could make a bit of an effort in here, youtube and on bluesky and such.

Because I WANT to talk and write and draw about QPR stuff, I want to go beyond the binaries of what label you put on a relationship, but damn I don't want people to assume I'm writting for them and their taste if they use the tags to protect themselves, and I'm not interested into traumatizing people for no reason.

And in parrallel, I just don't like to put up fences between fans and discussions, I don't like the fact that people will read the tags rather than the story, I don't like that we only consume stuff we're comfortable with only. I don't think it's a good thing to think 'welp, fandom space and culture, the default is gay and slightly misogynistic'. I don't like people demonizing sex, I don't like censorship, I don't like everyone just staying in their lanes like stale micro gardens?

I'd love the default to be 'Alastor is ace, I might play with the concept, but he is' and people just wanting to enjoy the usual fandom current state of things would be the one taking charge of this and adding allosexual Al tags, but... What's next, asking people to tag gay shipping for anything that is not canonically gay? Crackship if it's not canon? 'Oh and by the way, I will draw kisses that were not in the original show!'

Am I too old for this? I don't know, I feel like I both lack whimsy AND consideration for my fellow fandom enjoyers...

In my mind Alastor introduced Rosie as "the most darling, delightful, and dangerous Overlord this side of the Pentagram" because she's the most xyz of any of the overlords that side of any gender

Omfg now that I realise Niffty = Alastor’s crutch for opening up, and Husk = Alastor’s crutch for setting boundaries, I now get why Alastor brings up Rosie when he warns Alastor about Mimzy, and Alastor gets so pressed about it. Alastor in life sold his soul to Rosie, overly willing to do whatever she asked of him and has paid the price for it in bondage, likewise with Mimzy exploiting his kindness in S1E5. Husk stops Alastor from letting the wrong people in. And that’s literally why Mimzy bursts through the door, and as the “host” (not his actual job), Alastor mistakingly tells her “all are welcome here”, when only people seeking redemption are meant to be at the hotel.

Bro. I already had a scene in S4S planned about Alastor letting someone into the hotel he shouldn’t, originally it was going to be Chaggi giving him backlash for it, but I’m definitely going to go with Vaggi and Husk instead. Boi.

Hazbin Hotel Humans Births and Deaths Timeline Up To Season 2

DISCLAIMER: The dates here are all taken rather by the series itself, old Viv's interviews, the wiki or by doing simple math knowing the character's death decade. Some informations may become outdated in next seasons, so expect an update chart eventually. Some characters that already appeared have not enough info to be added in the timeline.

The characters that will not appear:

Carmilla and her daughters - While she probably died somewhere between the 70s and the 80s, the total lack of info about her and her daughter's age doesn't give enough data to pin point a good period in the timeline

The Other Overlords - I do have my theories, Maestro dying in 1700s, Zeezi dying rather in the 80s or the 90s, Hatchet in the 70s, Prick between 1865 and 1895, and so on, none of them have a confirmed death date or decade so they won't be present.

Rosie - I don't even know if she is HUMAN. That's the reason.

Hellborns and Heavenborns - For obvious reasons, i preffered doing this timeline only with the humans that are shown in the series, even if those humans later became immortal or archangels. The hellborns and heavenborns are too much of an hassle as of now.

Some curiosities worth mentioning:

Excluding the original Humans, if Charlie's age is still confirmed to be 200 years old, Zestial is the only demon we saw on screen with confirmed age that is older than the Princess.

On a similar vein, Pentious is the only member of the hotel who is very close in age with Charlie, being almost 200 years old.

Cherri and Pentious are the couple with the biggest age gap. 120 years of difference. If Zestial and Carmilla do become an item, they will definitely beat them in it. But since they are all dead who gives a shit?

Tom's cause and date of death is pretty obvious even without checking the dates honestly. JUST LOOK AT THAT MASK

There is a max of 12 years between the Death of Pentious and the birth of Alastor. A crazy short amount of time.

1910s seems to be the most eventful decade in Hellaverse, with the birth of four characters and the death of two.

Husk and Angel are the pair with the shortest age gap. Since they probably can't be born more than 9-10 years from one another. Is their deaths that created the crazy 30+ years gap.

Angel,Molly, Husk and Vox could be literally all of same year.

In the same vein of the previous one, The four characters mentioned earlier could have crossed paths in life.

Husk is the character that lived the longest on earth among all the ones with a known age. During his lifetime there was possibly the birth of Angel and Molly, possibly the birth of Vox (depends on who was born first among all of them) , The Death of Tom, The death of Alastor, The birth and Death of Niffty, the death of Angel (and possibly of Molly too), The Birth and possibly the Death of Valentino, the Death of Vox and the Birth of Cherri.

Husk possibly could have served in two wars when alive: WW2 around the age of late 20s or early 30s and first half of Vietnam War when he was in his late 40s early 50s (yes they called to arms also people of that age) . Yeah i'd drink to forget too...

Is not known when Molly died, but given her very young appereance in sinner form there is the theory that she died before Angel. That would be one of the reasons that pushed Angel to rather kill their father or to Overdose.

There is a non zero chance that Husk, Angel, Molly and Vox heard about the shocking discovery of the radio host that revelead himself to be one of the most brutal serial killer of their times. That would give another read on the scene where Vox says to Alastor that he admires him a lot, what if he was talking also of his murders on earth?

There is a possibility that a very young Val saw Vox on a Tv show before he died.

Is pretty interesting to see that Valentino's possible birth date matches with the Death of Angel (his obsession) and his death matches with the Death of Husk (his love rival).

Niffty, Cherri and Velvette are tied for the characters that died younger in the hellaverse so far.

Angel could literally be the Father of his best friend according to their age gap. Funnily enough in the very first version of the characters during the early drafts of Zoophobia, Cherri was INDEED Angel's daughter and was named Isabella.

The birth date of Velvette makes it impossible for her to have met the other two Vees in real life. Thought is funny to think that Vox could have been her grandpa and Valentino her father age wise.

Velvette being the youngest overlord can mean that rather there are no overlords younger than 20s or that there are no overlords death after the 2000s.

Huskerdust age gap discourse is tired as fuck and stupid, You know what is MORE interesting to think about?

The Power Gap.

Don't let their little scenes dealing with fodder after Loser Baby fool you, Angel IS weaker than Husk. He is just as strong as taller, multi-armed human is, Husk has actual Magic. Angel can handdle fodder exorcists and Sinners just fine but by mere PROXIMITY of Adam's attack he was render completely helpless while Husk was checking on him not THAT far away from the blast himself.

But nothing cemented this as well as Husk's interactions with the Vees in s2.

Sure, he has the advantage of NOT being a Vee's víctim, thus skipping the fawn response and the panic that hit Angel everytime a Vee breathes, but even on a fight or die situation Angel can't do anything. Husk struggled fighting with Val and Velvet, Angel couldn't even react when Vox assaulted him. Hell, compare how Cherri was completely overpowered by Val until Husk literally had him on a chokehold, that is how an Angel vs Valentino would go if he didn't own him.

Husk still had his casino too, and based on context clues, their domains give them power- gee, I wonder how much power a GAMBLING Overlord in Hell would get?

And Angel is a simple mobster with funny cartoon physics.

Obviously I know that Husk would never hurt Angel but....how can he be sure?

maybe this is too woke but i really hate the trope of naked older women = scary or vomit inducing or gross or whatever. like you even see it used in horror on occasion like oooooo so scary theres a woman with saggy boobs and wrinkles. There is something to be said for unconsensual veiwing of nudity. sure. it’s uncomfortable and violating for someone to be nude in front of you that you don’t want to see. but rarely that’s seen as the issue and instead the real ‘horror’ or gross out joke is the very idea of a woman who does not have a body that is sexually desirable to men. We need to talk about the fact that thanks to the Vees, both Angel and Husk now live with the fact that they put their hands on someone they loved, on the same scene too.

Angel straight out said strangling Cherri was the last straw to make him return to the Evil Rape Building, and Husk had never looked so sad (so far lmao) like the frame after he hit Angel. And it's interesting because it makes the point of autonomy- Angel, like Cherri, was a victim. He was robbed of his bodily and cognitive autonomy and hurt Cherri, which ultimately forced Husk's hand...literally. And just- look at this shit bro:

It creates this interesting parallel because....well, unlike Angel he did that shit fully conscious lmao obviously he had no other option that didn't involve force of some kind, but I am sure Husk didn't care about that, especially not in retrospect with Angel now gone and being abused even more. Angel suffered because he is too scared of what the Vees can do with his lobotomized shell, Husk suffered because he had to hurt that shell.
