1. The private lives or the sexuality of the actors are none of your business. You are allowed to be curious, but accept the boundaries they set.
2. The actors (or most of them) are full grown adult men, not babies, pets or children. They are allowed to do what they want and that includes partying, getting drunk, having hook ups, smoke, date, make randy jokes, have sex or like posts that they find sexy, etc etc. Deal with it. You don't need to like or agree with everything an actor does.
3. The actors don’t owe you anything. If you choose to spend your money on presents, tickets and merch or all of your time to trend something or other, that’s your business not theirs.
4. These men have friends and colleagues in and out of the business. Yet, they don’t date everyone they are photographed or filmed with.
5. When filming them or taking their picture: Ask! And don’t crowd them. Have some decency. They aren’t animals in a zoo.
6.Don’t bully anyone. Not other fans, not their friends, not the actors themselves or anyone related to them. If you see others spread hate, don’t engage. Report them and leave a nice comment or like for the poor person who is being dragged. Don’t reward the bullies behaviour with attention, clicks and shares, because it only feeds their need for attention.
7. If an actor/singer/ship is the only thing/person that brings you joy and keeps you from harming yourself then you need therapy. Desperately. Fandoms are not therapists - far from it actually.
8. Keep in mind that BL is a business. It’s in its nature to make as much money as possible. Reminding yourself of that helps to go too far down the rabbit hole.
9. Enjoy the content you are given, but remember that the actors are not their roles. They lead different lives, have different friends and might not be queer at all.
10. Have fun with it all, but don’t take it too seriously. You have a real life outside of the fandom and the shows as well. If BL stops being fun for you - leave and look for something that brings you more joy. That’s great, too.
