The best way I can describe why you need to watch Farscape is that it's Star Trek for sex freaks. And yes, I hear you out there, saying "umm actually Star Trek is Star Trek for sex freaks" but I am looking you in your eyes when I Assure you that it is not even approaching Farscape's level. "But OP have you seen the episode where-" yes. Yes I have. Farscape's doing it freakier. And sexier. I don't know how it's allowed either.

You chose the name of a goddess of death for your online handle and kept it for games, websites and social media. You thought it was cool until the goddess herself came and wanted to have a word with you.....
saw a comment that misspelled “kind gesture” as “kind jester” and am now imagining a beautiful world where we praise good samaritans by calling them kind jesters. good on you, you gentle fool. you’ve made the world a sweeter and sillier place.

classic cinema is such a great pastime cause you'll hear somebody say yeah this movie changed cinema forever and is still the standard 70 years later and you'll go into it like surely it can't be good and come out of it like wow no it is that good actually. like this every time

The summoned hero has one critical flaw: They have sociopathic and psychopathic traits. However, psychopathy and sociopathy don't automatically equate to being a bad person. The hero genuinely tries to do the right thing, resulting in situations which are either hilarious or horrifying...
okay, everyone who presses the red button survives regardless, everyone who presses the blue button dies if the blue button count is below 50%, and everyone survives if the majority press the blue button
which button do you press
Red 🔴
Blue 🔵
aaaaand, new scenario:
A third button has been added. everyone who presses the red button survives regardless, but if a majority press the red button, everyone else dies. If a majority of people press the blue button, everyone survives—except for anyone who presses the green button. Everyone who presses the green button gets a crisp 1 dollar bill
which button do you press
red 🔴
blue 🔵
green 🟢
ugh i'm SORRY i'm SORRY i am about to take the poll from tumblr user evilwizard seriously as a psychological/anthropological topic but it's SO INTERESTING
a substantial number of people are clearly voting on the assumption that all the options include someone dying (per the precedent of the first poll)
because the actual options being stated here are:
Red majority: all blue and green voters die
Blue majority: all green voters die
Green majority: nobody dies and the majority of people get a crisp $1 bill
but because of the previous poll, and (imo) because we tend to be acculturated to expect "no free lunch" even in hypothetical scenarios, people assume there must be a reason not to vote green.
when the truth is that there is no reason to vote blue. if you want the outcome of "fewer people die" even at risk to yourself, then green kills fewer people AND gets you a crisp $1.
we know from the first poll that "people in this polling group will probably vote majority in the Fuck You Jack, I'm All Right class" is not a reasonable conclusion; at time of writing 71.1% of respondents are choosing the prosocial option.
so i genuinely think that the blue majority in poll 2 is people viewing the green option as "well choosing green would be a selfish act, because it gets me something and not everyone else, so the way to avoid a red majority is to choose blue"
but voting green and voting blue have the exact same impact on the chance of red winning, with blue coming at a cost and green coming at a net gain for everyone
wow
i wonder if this is in some way applicable to political systems, perhaps in ways with similar colours associated
important reminder that most people you follow online are significantly lamer than you think they are including me. and if you feel insecure comparing yourself to someone online: DON'T. theyre probably also lame and weird. most people on the internet are
