Omegaverse is so funny to me because it’s like the alphas are leaders and gendered as men, the omegas are breeders and gendered as women, and the betas? They’re the ones who actually keep the world intact and running. If omegaverse is a way to examine gender dynamics then the beta is gendered in a similar sense to labor- the workforce is nonspecific, unified by their role, unremarkable in any way. There is a designation neither male nor female, neither privileged as alpha or prized and owned as omega- and that is the Worker. The proletariat. The working class. Betas are infrastructure.
