ok so in honour of moon day:
do you think people in the gimel megalopolis ever look up at the night sky and think about the fact that nobody has ever set foot on the moon in their current universe?
like the night sky looks identical to the one in bet, but there's no footprints on the surface of that moon, no bleached flag, no mirror
it must haunt them on some level, right?
on a related more positive note, what about the wildlife on gimel?!
are there still mammoths? woolly rhinos? moas? thylacines? giant groundsloths? glyptodons? it's a whole earth without any human presence until very recently! it's a treasure trove of life pre-anthropocene extinction! and it's also very much not the focus of the story, but it's literally millions of words long, im sure wildbow could spare a chapter or 2 in wordcount at some point for an interlude!

I would love to see more about this. What about other Earths that split off even earlier?
Should be noted that Wildbow said that Gimel only split off about 5000 years ago. Weird thing, it would mean the split happened around 500 years after the city of Ur was abandoned. He also said there were just a few prehistoric humans that died out. I'm going to assume this is Wildbow being bad at numbers and not checking out human history. 5000 years ago, humans had already spread to every continent and had large civilizations.
