I think in retrospect one thing that will be historically notable about the 2020s is the use of online smear campaigns against powerful women. Like itâs extremely frightening. So many of them also were quite literally funded by men who were angry about âgetting MeTooedâ and wanted to ruin a womanâs life the same way.
The most frightening part is what happens when you discuss these women or overhear discussions about them in real life. The internet moves on, sometimes like with Amber Heard it even course corrects. But you bring up these womenâs names to your coworkers or your aunt or whoever and they wrinkle their noses. Isnât she a terrible person though? And you canât really convince them otherwise, not fully. Thatâs the goal of these smear tactics, to create a big poison mushroom cloud that EVERYONE inhales and once the normies log off youâre marked forever, even after your name is cleared a week later.
Men figured out that calling a womanâs morals into question (whether warranted or not) and then buying a bunch of bots or goading mentally ill freaks to act hysterical about it does tarnish a womanâs reputation exactly the same way that serious sexual assault and violent crime cases tarnish a manâs.
This was shared as a "bad" joke but I was so charmed by it I've been thinking about it for days.
Moose at the next table: No they don't. I've been waiting here for an hour.
The agency stressed that the July 17 voluntary recall from Taylor Farms still stands. The supplier has been linked to the ongoing cyclospora
In the middle of a diarrhea shitstorm, the Food and Drug Administration and lettuce supplier Taylor Farms appear to be facing off in a passive aggressive battle of technicalities.
On July 17, the California-based company issued a voluntary recall on iceberg lettuce sourced from Central Mexico. The recall came after people across at least five states were sickened with cyclosporiasis, a parasitic infection that causes explosive diarrhea.
The next day, the FDA said that it had detected the parasite in a sample of Taylor Farms lettuce that wasnât part of the initial recall. The day after that, the company and the FDA said that the result was actually a false positive.
âToday, the FDA apologized to us,â Taylor Farms then posted on its X account on July 19.
The FDA did not quite agree with that interpretation, however. On July 20, an agency official told reporters that it did not offer the company an âofficial apology.â Instead, the official said, "mostly we were providing factual information" about how difficult it is to test for and trace the sources of cyclospora outbreaks. Got a Tip?Are you a current or former government employee or Taylor Farms employee who wants to talk about whatâs happening? Weâd like to hear from you. Using a nonwork phone or computer, contact the reporter securely on Signal at khtaylor.24.
The agency emphasized that the recallâwhich spans 27 states, and includes certain lettuce sold to Taco Bell and Walmartâstill stands. âTo clarify, this false-positive lab sample DOES NOT change the basis for FDAâs ongoing outbreak investigation or the overwhelming epidemiological data supporting the current voluntary recall by Taylor Farms,â it posted on X.

ohhh my god I just fact-checked, Nolan actually DID cut the "Nobody" scene from his Odyssey movie. Mfer that is like cutting the Father reveal from Star Wars. Let me speak in a language you understand this is like not dressing Batman up in his suit. "It was not possible to work it in" the TikTok musical with a budget of $4 and a scratched Hamilton CD managed to work it in in SONG form, step up your FUCKING GAME
every time they try to cook up controversy on some big-name woman, some percentage of you fall for it. get good and say "I don't care" more. for feminism.
lol
Why do people get mad when you say that you donât believe in astrology?
Well, itâs because when someone says âoh Iâm such a Scorpioâ they are telling you something about themselves using a common social tool that allows people to speak about themselves with a little distance. And you responded to this by accusing them of holding an entire elaborate belief system that they almost certainly donât hold.
âwhen asked if she would perform a preemptive nuclear strike on Iran, Kamala did not say noâ and Trump said he would bomb Iran out of existence without being asked. lol. typed it out and posted it on his own little social media site. why are you still doing the âKamala was going to be the WAR president she LOVED WARâ while the Trump White House is making plans to invade Cuba
I have kind of a niche political view on tumblr, which is that I think misogyny is bad even when itâs just hurting women
and I donât even think it needs to have a singular benefit for men for feminism and the abolition of patriarchy to be worthwhile
in fact the abolition of patriarchy could be a net loss for men and I would still think that feminism and the abolition of patriarchy was worth it
