Build-A-Sim Icon Pack!

I’ve often gone absolutely feral just trying to find one trait for editing. Unfortunately, a lot of icon packs are outdated, missing things, or are not labelled so you have to dig for them. What started as a simple folder quickly escalated and now I bring you the ultimate icon folder for traits, careers, aspirations, and more!

There are almost 2000 images that I’ve carefully sorted, properly labelled for searching, and made sure to find the highest pixel size I could for each icon. The majority of which are 128 pixels, the ideal size for editing. The sizes of icons that available in the game are outside of my control, so some will be smaller.

Along with my Whimsy Challenge Expanded challenge, I created several UI mockups to mimic TS4′s in-game moodlets, notifications, and more. Feel free to use these alongside your gameplay screenshots!

These are meant to be used with L'Univers Sims’ icon rips from the game, and utilize The Sims Sans fonts. All templates come as editable PSDs, and knowledge of Photoshop / other similar editing software is recommended.

The start of... forever?

Elnore was thrilled when her mother Morwenna and uncle Leofcild approved of Arnulf to be her marriage match. Elnore spent her days tending to the garden and eagerly looking forward to their days courting. She was dutiful and pious in his presence, and he was extremely respectful, endearing himself to her whole family. As she encouraged her plants to grow, she grew excited to meet him at the church for their ceremony.

But, inexplicably, something changed. The second the preist declared they were wed, declared she was no longer a Cooper, doubt flowered in the pit of her stomach, and a small voice told her she might have just sown the seeds of her downfall...

What is the aim of the weekly church service if not congregating and gathering? The Cooper family diligently attend every Sunday not just for the service but also to see their fellow parishoners... this time though it would seem a new face has caught Elnore's eye. She had always found it strange that she was raising a child without ever being married, perhaps that's about to change...?

After his mother died, Deorsige's father was at a loss. Leofcild had never raised a newborn without the help of it's mother before, he didn't know what to do and, frankly, the sight of his son filled him with fear and dread. If it wasn't for Elnore, the boy likely would have swiftly joined his mother. Cousin Elnore raised the child as if he were her own, it wasn't the life he deserved but she did her absolute best to make Edonia proud, and seeing Deorsige grow into such a healthy toddler has filler Elnore's heart with pride.

April Fools: medieval deco Sims

Happy April Fools Day! I've been slowly prepping for a (fantasy) medieval Sims story, and something I've realised lately is just how much entertainment the castle lord and lady would have - fools, acrobats (same thing really, but I've separated them here because I figured there'd be need for a classic jester), minstrels, and players (actors) were often at work between banquet courses.

I liked the idea of this but didn't want to pose Sims every time, so I made myself a bunch of deco entertainers that I could just pop into the background of a scene. I'm sharing them because, as always, I figure that if I needed to make myself something... then maybe other people would need them too.

Including all swatches and the different pose options, that's 114 deco Sims lmao.

What you need to know:

these deco Sims are high poly (from 11,651 poly to 19,848 poly - specific details are on their cards) so please use sparingly or as much as your PC can handle!

You can find them in game by typing "April Fools" or their individual names

the two acrobats and jesters have the same 5 poses between them, but with some variation (plus 4 swatches to choose from)

I've included my two bards even though their lutes do not work with MXAO... I figure these are all background figures soooo whatever. Thank you 1000 times to SurelySims and Karaiarai for helping me to get them in game at all!

Merryn joined the Cooper family after her parents passed and her sister, Ewella, adopted her and their brother. She met Ewella's husband's brother, Rowan, and they fell in love. What followed was a life of love and happiness. They had 5 children together, three making it to adulthood, and both Merryn and Rowan have lived long enough to meet their first grandchild, Alysoun. Merryn outlived both her siblings and now leaves behind her adoring husband Rowan, her daughters Tregereth and Lowenna, and her son Breok - who is bringing the love he saw between his parents into his marriage with Belia.

Morwenna was, of course, correct. She was pregnant when Beolin left for war and now she has given birth to their second son, whom she has given her husband's name. In the back of her mind Morwenna knows there's a high chance she will never see her love again, and might tragically loose her second husband, and so she's keeping their sons as close as possible at all times as tiny, babbling reminders of her Beolin.

In happier news, Leofcild and Rosamund's daughters both successfully aged up into children, and they are both somehow carbon copies of their parents. Brown-haired Clara looks the spitting image of her father when he was a child, and Fleurie's firey hair makes Leofcild think of his beloved Rosamund everytime he looks at her.

She wasn't with us long, but she made a big impression. Rest in peace Edonia.

History is repeating itself

Three births in four years has taken it's toll on Edonia. Coupled with the recent loss of her father, it seems her body just couldn't cope and she didn't recover from the birth of her 3rd son. Thankfully she survived long enough to name him Deorsige, after her father Deorsi. Leofcild is certain there's something wrong with him, he has to be the problem somehow. He's been widowed for the second time at just 26 years of age, and now he has to worry about whether his son will make it, or if he'll loose the 3rd heir in a row.
