do u think an isfp x entj can understand each other deeply? ik it depends on the person and dynamics and such but im wondering it mbti-wise

Helloo!! Omg I love your blog sm and I'm happy you're updating again. When I first followed your blog the latest update was in 2024 but I didn't care bcs your contents is mwah!!!! 🤌🏻🧡✨
Anyway, I first took the MBTI test back in my second year of high school and I consistently got INTJ so that was my type for years. But then when I entered college it shifted and I started getting INFJ instead. But it kind of made sense at the time because I was going through a lot emotionally and socially, and I guess I became more in tune with my feelings or maybe just more sensitive to everything around me??
But then after a couple of years in therapy and on medication I found myself shifting back to INTJ again. I felt more grounded, clearer and sharp in my thinking again, and less overwhelmed by emotions. So I thought “oooohkay maybe I really am an INTJ when I'm mentally stable???"
But just the other day I randomly decided to retake the test and on multiple websites at that just to compare, and I got ISTJ across the boardd. Like eeeeehhh how did that happen??
And to make it more confusing my enneagram is 8w7???? which doesn’t really scream “ISTJ” either. I'd say fuck to labels but my head keeps asking "How and why?!"
(Sorry for the wall of paragraphs! /gen. I love your contents so soo muchh!!! CHEERS!!! 🥂 🌷✨)
OMG THERE ARE PPL STILL FOLLOWING AND CHECKING IN ON MY BLOG 🥹🥹 you don't understand how happy I was reading this, you literally made my entire day ❤️❤️
(also dw about the paragraph thing because I def wrote a LOT more haha)
and I get what you're saying so much! our 'types' will change so much as we gain new experiences and pressures. I can imagine that going through things socially/emotionally around you can cause you to change not only the way you act, but also the way you view yourself.
even then, I actually don't think it's a huge jump between infj to intj and then to intj to istj! do you still feel like you're an 8? I think that's a good starting point to figuring out if you are an istj. 8 is generally a sensory-ish function, so I can imagine that there might be times where your 8 and intj conflict in a way that appears like an istj
if you had asked me 4 years ago what my type was, I would have confidently said istp. but knowing that I'm an enfj now....well....😵💫something was definitely lost in translation lol
also, I find it very interesting what you mentioned about medications and therapy affecting your type. personally, I have read a couple stories online about how it may affect one's typology - but I wish there was more research on this! if you are ok with it, I'd love to hear more about this!
I know that big 5 is one of the more credible metrics for measuring personality, and is a lot more lenient in how our personalities change. even for things like drug use or personality disorders, there's a lot more info and research on Big 5. many times I've tried to do conversions between mbti and Big 5 - but mbti assumes a much more solid cognition
and not to get philosophical, but when tumblr first asked me to name my blog, I wrote 'mistype360' thinking it was like 'turning your mistype around'...forgetting the fact that 360 literally means ending up in the same place you started!
maybe this has some sort of meaning, or maybe it doesn't - but sometimes I wonder if it's a sign that we can go through a whole typology journey just to end up as the same mistype we started as when we took that damn 16personalities test
You're enfj? Cool! Tell us about your Fe Ni pls
this is sooo late but thank you for the opportunity to talk about myself 😇
having Fe-Ni has certainly helped me become a lot more perceptive towards people, which has in part allowed me to start and run this blog.
I still question a lot whether I'm an enfj, which is strange considering at one point I typed people on a daily basis lol.
Fe-Ni is very outward focused, which I guess is the downside to having it. typing others but not being able to type yourself.
I don't think I'll really ever truly know what it is, but that's okay!
our types will change throughout our lives...so by the time I figure it out, I will probably be a whole different type anyways!
pookie,,,,where are you,,,
haven't seen you post in a while, hope you're doing okay
hi lovely! thanks for checking in, I've just been a bit busy lately...how are you doing? :)
I still expect to slow down posting in the future, but I wanted to come on to say hi and respond to the piles of stuff in my inbox😵💫
hii, i hope you have a nice day wanna ask if im intp or infp i've tested so many times and its always intp this infp that, i can't even know im t or f and i feel like im way too weird and annoying for infp or intp lol
intp vs infp
hi, you are definitely not alone on this. in fact, many infps and intps mistype for each other.
lot's of infps and intps have actually described themselves as 'weird' - wether it's just nerdy or passionate about something. especially if they have a 4 fix somewhere...well then being weird is kind of their goal!
instead of trying to differentiate between fi and ti, which can be accomplished by citing countless descriptions, I think a good start would be to ask what your enneagram type is. usually your functions will work very tightly with your enneagram.
high 4 usually correlates more with fi. high 5 usually correlates more with ti. 6's can 9's can be both, but 6 usually leans more towards ti and 9's lean more towards fi.
this is just a generalization...but it can get you started in thinking about how you use your fi or ti
enneagram compatibility guide
hey all! i'm ending my compatibility event since I have soooo many in my inbox. for anyone who hasn't had theirs answered, or is just curious, I decided to post a little guide I've been using...(as always, for most of mbti and enneagram, don't take this too seriously!)
the 10 rule: enneagrams that add to 10 are the most compatible
the 9 rule: enneagrams that add to 9 are the least compatible, (which is also why 9's are compatible with everyone 😉)
disintegration/integration lines: relationships between these lines are either one sided or balanced
reaction triads: enneagrams in the same triads (459), (126), and (853) tend to be incompatible
the opposite rule: enneagram types opposite from each other (for example, 9 is opposite from 4 and 5) are the most compatible as trios and groups
subtypes: same subtypes tend to be most compatible, as well as vise versa (sx blinds and sx doms tend to be incompatible)
hi! do you still take compatibility asks? if so i’m INFP 4w5 sp/sx :)
hi! I'm slowly starting to work through my inbox to get these done lol - I haven't engaged in typology in so long but the break has certainly given me a new perspective on these
my compatibility reading જ⁀➴🏹
partners: xntjs, enfps, sx4's, 7's, most 8's
friends: isfps, infps, xsfjs, basically any 6
my notes:
sp/sx might make you want someone who is a little non-threatening and maybe less fe usage.
for that reason, infjs and enfjs might be friendly acquaintances, but I don't see them as friends/partners - and might actually bring a little bit of contempt in the long-term
same said for 3's or 2's. many of them aren't 'fake,' but I think they can often give off the perception of so
the only exception to this fe thing is probably isfjs or esfjs, which have very nice si to balance out
even though high fi users often clash head-to-head with each other, I imagine they would work surprisingly well as a partner
4's, 7's and 8's are generally very passionate types, which is definitely compatible with sx5
hello, sorry i forgot to put my name before sorry. my name is jeanette.
but yeh i have done a lot of reflection and i knoe for sure i am an ni dominant and se inferior. and i need some help in deciding whether I am a TJ or an FJ. because upon reflection, i have realised i have traits of TiFe and TeFi. could you give some clear cut distinctions between the two?
INFJ vs INTJ
telling the distinction definitely requires a focus on how you utilize your nifi vs nite - that is, how your ni works with your auxiliary function
I would start with looking at your ni's outlet. you don't have to be emotional or accepting do be an infj, or be unemotional and cold to be an intj. a lot of people feel their fe and te in weird or subtle ways.
are you able to read people very easily? are you cautious when you're in a room of strangers? do you feel uncomfortable when someone does something that seems 'out of place,' even though really it's not a big deal? what about avoiding relationships with people because you know how it's going to end up? or on the flip-side, do you enter relationships with people that you think will be strong in the long run? will you sit with someone for hours to figure out how to fix their problems?
when you wake up can you have a clear idea of what your day will look like? if someone asks you a general question, like your plans for the future, is it easy for you to answer? perhaps you have many plans, but would you answer concisely? do you get annoyed by people who sugarcoat or pad their words? how much do you cherish your own space and time?
i've been into the 16 personalities and enneagram since pandemic began but i feel like i only rely on few references and thoughtpieces online and irl (mainly, mbti-notes and beatrice chestnut's the complete enneagram) so i'm wondering if you have resources/research/blog/etc abt these typologies (or even others) that you'd like to recommend?
thank you so much!
hii! sorry, it's been a while since I've looked at this blog but I can def share some that were helpful to me when I type people! (I love your name btw x.)
I know that you probably know the basics so i'll give you some more nuanced things that help me type people on a deeper level.
counterphobic/phobic types: simple info
triads: this one is my favorite, very simple, this page from pdb goes in depth into different kind of triads (freudian, hornevian...):
mbti stacks: I like looking at this one to see how functions interact with each other
enneagram fixations: I'm not a big fan of naranjo, but this one summarizes a couple mbti writers
the pdfs of many mbti books! some are descriptions and some are self typing test sorta things. I think they can be a little overwhelming, but if you like reading (or want to quote/reference something), you'll find some good things here
jumper types: this blog literally tells you everything you need to know and more
(not too promote myself) but here's a post that I kept private for a while but decided to post for this. it aggregates all/most the resources I've made! hopefully it's helpful
mbti types as scents
infj, enfj : sandalwood, patchouli, sage, jasmine, cacao butter
enfp, infp: vanilla, hibiscus, rose, autumn, lilacs, parchment
entj, intj: bergamont, eucalyptus, cashmere, almond, lavender
intp, entp: lemongrass, nutmeg, spearmint, blood oranges
esfj, isfj: rosemary, white musk, brown sugar
istj, estj: leather, toffee, mahogany, black cherry, cedarwood
isfp, esfp: sea salt, clay, coconut, ocean, cactus, peaches
istp, estp: pine, petrichor, lemonade, champagne, bourbon
been wanting to make moodboards of these for a while aaaah. all photos from pinterest. some ended up not as cohesive as others, sadly, but...

to add to my most recent post about functions, how would you describe se and si because i get so tired of seeing “sports and adrenaline!!” “memory and nostalgia!!” for them in descriptions 😭🙏 and how would si-ne and fi-te interact as the aux and tert functions? i love your responses as always 🫶🫶
YESS I literally hate sensor/intuitive descriptions with burning passion...especially that one ni description I read online 😭...
I genuinely relate and understand more of functions through examples of them irl, so I sorted them this way if that is more helpful
se
very opportunistic: might see a sale at a store and jump on the offer (even do the math if high in ti). will also be quick to join in on tiktok, fashion, or internet trends and get easily excited and interested in them.
sees loopholes in rules/guidelines, finds ways around it
better at improvising situations: when cooking a recipe they will know what to do when missing an ingredient. will eyeball measurements they have to take. more likely to think of fun quick last minute plans if something goes wrong.
i’m curious as to what dom/aux fi looks like when its “fi values” are very typically fe values - for example i’m CONSTANTLY questioning if i’m esfp or esfj because i think i have my OWN belief system regardless of what happens, i have morals i follow and hardly ever change my mind on those beliefs when i’ve made them up, BUT i am also heavily focused on “do the objectively correct thing ethically and socially - adjust to this group and keep the perception they have/have made of you up” i adapt very well socially to the point of a wavering sense of self, and a HUGEE confusing factor for me is fi likes, or is stereotyped to like constantly looking at its own feelings or thoughts - i for one hate it and it feels icky, thoughts?
this is such a HUGE question that people argue about (esp for characters😵💫)- and I get so many messages almost every day about how to tell fe vs fi, which tbh is so hard for me to tell sometimes personally
in general, I like to think it's what they do with the values rather than the values themselves (because it's a misconception that fe isn't associated with values, since imo values and feelings are inherently sister ideas 👯)
I also tend to observe that fi users question their own morality a lot more frequently and whether what they are doing is right/wrong - even long after they did something. they might wonder if they are a good or bad person almost constantly.
the fi user might question themselves: "am I a good friend? does this make me a good son/daughter? am I a good student? etc etc"
a lot of what they do is also to assure themselves of their beliefs. so flipping the above questions into: I am a good .... because I ....
I also often notice that fi users hold themselves to different standards from others, which is honestly pretty ironic imo. they are more willing to go against other people, and sacrifice much more of themselves, as long as it means doing the right thing
lastly, I think that fi users project a lot of their thoughts and advice onto others. when they comfort ppl, esp those close to them, it's almost as if they're actually consoling themselves rather than the other person. I notice as if it's coming from their own experience (or what they would want to hear if it was them in the other persons position), rather than for the other person needs to hear
Hi, I hope I didn't read your bio wrong.; It says assumptions are closed but I saw other asks talking about compatibility and that's what I would like ask! I love seeing extroverts flock to this blog.
I am an ENFP, Type 4 (balanced), and sp/sx. Thank you for your insights 💚🌊🏝️🍀
hi! you got that right
my compatibility reading જ⁀➴🏹
partners: intjs, istjs, entjs, sp6's, sx6's, sp1
friends: isfps, esfps, entps, estps, sp4's, sx2's, sp7's
my notes:
mostly xxtj's for relationships !! definitely works out considered the balanced wings
xxfp's and extp's make such chaotic relationships it's acc wild
birds of a feather...
4's and 4's combined are iffy but they have a lot of potential
Do you think it's possible for an INFP to look like an ENTP and vice versa? Why?
my short answer is no. but if we look at surface level traits, then yes. still, I disagree with the idea that they're even slightly similar since infps are wayy different from entps....though I can understand how mbti stereotypes & enneagram can lead to someone being mistyped
maybe an infp 4w5 who leans towards 5's could seem like an entp, but still they would resemble an intp over an entp
there could also be the possibility of an infp with a strong 7 fix who "stereotypically" seems like an entp, but 7's are associated more with ne in general than entps so in reality the infp would be more like an enfp
an entp that's more emotional, introspective, and reserved would likely have a stronger 4 fix. but I would question wether these traits were rooted more in deeper desires, or just how I approach and think about things. but even then, tertiary functions can be strong, and especially if one can't differentiate between fi and fe
heyyyy! i don’t know if you’re doing the assumptions for the milestone event or if you’re only doing the comparability but i’m a entp 8w7 sx/so 874! thank you :)
I feel like 8's have much more narrowed and specific types they are attracted to compared to other types

partners: intjs, infjs (of course), enfj, so3's, sx5's
friends: enfps, intps, isfjs, so4's, sx/so2's,
my notes:
isfjs are so underrated - they are literally the most sweet friends people can have tbh #sensorappreciation
enfjs can be iffy but I think combined with an so3 they can be a good match !!
intps and entps are such study duos
mostly thinking oriented in terms of relationships, but I think there's a soft spot for feelers (emphasis on 2's and 4's!!)
compatibility?!
i'm INFJ 5w4 sx/so :)
my compatibility reading જ⁀➴🏹
partners: intps, enfps, entps, other sx5's, so6's, so7
friends: istps, intjs, isfjs, sx1, so8, so2
my notes:
huge emphasis on intps and entps!
istps are a little unexpected but still balance each other out without too much se to scare them away
sx5's and so6's are the best match, but so7's have much more lighthearted relationships
isfjs are also SUPER underrated but would be such a good match as sx1's and so2's
enfp 4w5 so/sx 478
wow you are very similar to the last person I typed

partners: infjs, intjs, istjs, sx5's, so6's, so1
friends: intps, entps, esfps, enfjs, sx8's, so4's, sx2's, so7's
my notes:
this one is more emphasis on intps!! again very mj x spiderman 🥺
a little bit more of intj>infj
loves ti!! especially entps and intps
specifically entp so7's are such a fun duo
I also think sx2's which could be esfps or enfjs as well in both friends and partners❗especially as a non-thinker relationship
