Some of my reasons for not having faith in the church.
Mormons at Testimony
Mormon: You should give your testimony of the church.

Mormons At Sunday
*me listening to my own music over the churchâs*
Church Member:Â âYou shouldnât be listening to that type of music on Sundays or wearing that either.

if weâre being honest
as someone who grew up in the LDS church and went through the Young Womens program and was a Laurel President  and a summer girls camp counselor and attended every sunday and completed my Personal Progress and got my medallion and graduated from Seminary and now considers myself completely not of this faith anymore,Â
Women in the mormon church feel pressured to dress modestly and âgroom themselvesâ modestly as well. Conservative haircuts, NEVER wearing pants on sundays and especially not inside the TEMPLE, and it says in the âStandards for the Strength of Youthâ pamphlet to not be too outgoing with hair style, attire, makeup, etc.Â
I canât believe that wasnât a huge red flag to me.
I can honestly say my self worth and confidence in my self identification has improved SOOOO much!!! since basing my choice of dress, grooming, makeup, etc on standards I set for myself based on whatever Iâm comfortable with or feelin that day. Dressing masculinely was always put down and when I wore too much make up and experimented with it I would get comments like I need to be less vain and more modest. That is harsh and ridiculous and fucking dangerous for a young woman to hear! or anyone!Â
same
What I consider sinning = not sharing with the poor, taking away peopleâs health insurance when they could die next month because of it, preventing people from seeing their families based on imagined racist fears
What my family considers sinning = not going to church every Sunday, saying cuss words, drinking green tea, wearing thongs, critical thinking
!!! YOU DONâT NEED A RELIGION TO HAVE MORALS !!! You are capable of thinking for yourself without a bunch of old white guys telling you what to do!!!!!!
i feel the same way too
Did you hear about the group at BYU that was opposed to people wearing denim shorts on campus?
They called themselves the Anti-Kneehigh-Levis.
Bruh this is stupidity. BRUH!!!!!Â
minor rant
So my ex cheated on me and recently he cheated on the girl who he tricked into helping him cheat on me. Me and her had problems at first but now we good. I was the one and everyone else on my bus saw him cheat on her (it was senior skip day for her) with his ex who cheated on him twice for the same dude who liked her best friend. I wanted to be a good person so I told her that my ex cheated on her with his ex, he tried to lie to her at first but we like bugged the truth out of him and got him in trouble with his teacher. BUT TELL ME WHY THE FUCK HE GANGS ALL HIS OTHER EXES THAT STILL LOVE HIM ON ME TO TELL ME IMA DAMN SNAKE. Yall know thatâs some fishy shit there, like he was pissed at me for exposing his ass now this time TWICE!
-One bitch literally yells in her ear saying âS sheâs feeding you poisonous venom!â while staring at me. Then this twig body bitch tries to go at me to fight but luckily Merari pulled me back cause I had my black butler ring on and with a lot of force i could hurt her badly and scratch her up.
-Also that day I spent the day hanging with S being a friend to her and cheering her up. My closest Guy friend Kâs girlfriend comes up to me saying whatâs wrong and I tell her. Then his gf goes to me saying âHeâs still a good guyâ That set me off cause like wtf bitch he just played girls yet you call him a good guy. BITCH WHY THE FUCK YOU JUST GO OUT WITH HIM IF HEâS SUCH A GOOD FUCKING GUY?!? But obviously i didnât say that shit cause sheâs dating K and Iâm already pissed at him for leaving me on read. Plus Iâm tryna not have problems with her. But now Iâm not talking to him cause of him letting his girl say how to feel about my exes like shit i never let anyone talk down on him if they did i already dropped them.
-the day after S and my ex broke up he literally proved us right with cheating by going back out with the ex he cheated on S with. His ex tried to fight me for exposing her but when i was ready for her she stayed silent and did nothing cause sheâs a big shot in texts but not in person. But then she tries to sick her best friend M onto Merari and try to jump me but merari and S didnât let that happen.
We are a punk rock band from Prince Georges County MD. On the left is my fellow band member Merari...
Hey this is my bandâs tumblr page.
if you had to pick a number would it be 1 or 2?
*I need the votes for 2 ideas i have but i canât tell you.
Iâm starting to write some new lyrics.....
Itâs kinda sad cause I donât even fit in with the emos at my school, actually they hate me kinda....
Friend: Are you okay?
Me a fucking loser that still listens to my chemical romance in the year 2017 and is trying hard not to respond with the title of an mcr song that came out 13 god damn years ago: Yeah I'm good man
99% of Mormon Parents
Mormon Parents: You should be your own person! Think for yourself and develop your own opinions!
Child: I donât believe in the Church anymore.
Parents: OH MY GOD! HOW CAN YOU EVEN SAY THAT YOU HORRIBLE AWFUL CHILD?! HOW DARE YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT OPINION THAN ME?! REPENT NOW OR BE MISERABLE FOREVER!
my life
When I confronted my step mother about her Mormon Beliefs and their history...
Remember my last post about Native American and Mormons. Well that night when I posted that. I then went to confront my step mother about it and showed her evidence about my claim. Some of the evidence showed people sharing their experiences with the Mormon Church. She then and went to tell me that their experiences were probably false. So to respond back to her I said âSo in that case the people in the book of Mormon could be lying because its just their testimonies and view of Jesus.â After I said that it completely pissed her off and she literally said âTHE DEVIL IS MAKING YOU SAY THAT!â. Plus you all know that the founder of the church lost pages of the BOM, yet people claim its still true.
Being a Forced convert child of LDS
Molly Mormon girl:Hey what's your favorite story from the book of mormon?
me: I don't have one...and I don't really like BoM stories....I like bands
Molly Mormon girl:...Wanna hear mine?
me: Nope *puts earphones in,blasting Pierce The Veil. Walking away*
How I Got Here
I was born and raised in the church. My family are members and most of my extended family are too. Hell, my grandma initially joined the church to piss her parents off.
So the church was just a fact of life for me as I grew up. I got baptized at eight, gave talks in Primary and later in Sacrament, I went to Seminary every morning, and I was the Beehive, Mia Maid, and Laurel President. My dad was in the bishopric since I was 10, eventually becoming Bishop, and was only released two years ago. One of my little sister just did her freshman year at BYU and is now serving a mission in Brazil.
After graduating from high school, I went directly to college. I didnât go to any of the BYUs, but I did go to a school that is over 95% Mormon. Same Honor Code, needed an Ecclesiastical Endorsement, the works.
I started questioning when gay marriage became legal in my home state.
