This might be TMI but an injured pet I was fostering died in my arms recently and DYH really helped me get through the worst of it. So your fic is very very dear to me.

I was also in a Catholic school growing up and have loads of religious trauma, this fic helped me look at it a bit differently through Remus’ perspective — thank you for that!

Also, I didn’t have a priest kink before, and now you’re making me wanna go to Mass to see if there are any 30-something hot priests around 🤔 extra points if they’re heavily tattooed!! (And play bass goddamn)

You're sick. You recognise the symptoms from your crew, you have radiation poisoning. The astrophages that were protecting you and powering the ship are gone. You couldn't find the leak in time to stop it. And now you're dying out here in space, alone.

The life support systems on the ship are shutting down. Everything is shutting down. Your planet will die– your entire star system will die. They'll never know how close you came to saving them.

You think about Grace. Is his ship dying too? Or is he on his way home, none the wiser to your fate?

Maybe you're fighting until the end, or maybe you've 'made peace' with it.

Reasons my human has cried:

* New student, very small. Grace said it was pebble. Pebble is small Earth rock. Pebble likes name.

* He found out Eridians have no gender rules.

* Students brought him mineral sample. After he stopped crying he said he loves show-and-tell game. Human naming conventions oddly literal.

* I told him Earthsun grew bright.

* I took him up atop atmosphere bypass elevator to look at stars.

* He woke up from nap and found me still with him. I did not wait on his chest; he says I am heavy like “elephant” and he “couldn’t breathe.” I laid my arm over him instead, kept him close, feeling safe. He said “cuddle” was warm.

* Before class he heard younglings singing.

* He has plants in house from sprouts on ship. Plant grew “bud.”

* Engineers got seawater temperature right. He took off shoes and stood in water, sighing. He didn’t care about pants getting damp. Cried until shirt was also damp. Humans very endlessly wet.

* He missed “Doritos.”

* Adrian helped food scientists make taumoeba dried paste. Made it crunchy after heating. We fused it into triangle form. Told him it was Tauritos. That made him laugh-cry. Laugh-cry is rare and precious.

* He remembered Eridians have no gender rules.

* We made him celebration outfit. Used metals he calls pretty. He can see frequencies named “colorful” and “shiny.” These make humans happiest.

* I gave him hug when he wasn’t expecting it. Easier to hug close now with exosuit. Hug when Grace sitting down so he does not fall over.

* Told him to think long time, stay with me as long as he can.

i just read dear your holiness again ! ohhh my god i actually forgot how amazing this fic is. i haven't read it in so long because i got caught up in school studies, and i haven't even read a fic since December, so i decided, "why not start with dear your holiness again?" and holy fuck, was that a good choice. i genuinely ranted to my friend about this fic for 30 minutes from how much i love it. like it's genuinely my oxygen and I'll always always always recommend it to people if anyone asks for a fic rec, because holy shit, it is the most poetic fic I've genuinely ever read. the first time i read dyh, it felt like i just opened my eyes for the first time. it felt like the first cigarette someone could have. it felt like i just discovered what fan fiction is. i love it so much, thank you for bringing such a beautiful fic into the world !

hello!! i just finished another reread of dyh and first of all, i love it with my whole heart and the scene where the potters adopt harry always makes me CRY. it’s so sweet oh my god. seconddd, it made me think and i was wondering where do you think they would be five years after the end? remus and sirius especially but the rest of the big characters too if you want <3 like how do you imagine them five years down the line? and again i just want to thank you for writing such a masterpiece and all the joy that fic in particular brings me, it’s so dear to me. i hope you have a good day ❤️

We all know I'm a sucker for a happy ending probably to the point of it being unhealthy lol but I imagine they stay together and live long, happy, loving lives.

Someone asked a similar question a little while back (if I could remember how I tagged it maybe I could've found it lol) and I remember answering with wolfstar getting married, William visits often, Dorcas and Mary get together, Harry grows up happy and healthy, the youth center turns into a huge non-profit. i finished reading nearly all your fics and i can definitely say that you're my favorite author oat, cs how does one even reach the level of creating one of the best fics out there, and STILL be able to write MORE amazing fics. ALL my friends know your fics and know your user name. sometimes when i need to rant, they immediately know it's about your fics. "oh, my god, ----, are you reading DYH again??" why yes i am🥹🥹

The answer to how I wrote so many fics is untreated depression LOL I'm on meds now so I'm not as prolific as I used to be (I'm also doing cross stitch now, which I highly recommend) but I'm still writing! Hopefully something I can share someday!
